New 710 ESPN podkast

A little ear candy to help y'all kill time before the game against the Nuggets tonight.
Our buddy Eric Neel from ESPN.com drops by and we dissect all things supposedly "soft," whether
you're talking the Laker roster, Pau Gasol or Brian during his pickup
games at the rec. Plus, Kobe slips to #2 on an ESPN MVP "watch" list!
Oh, the humanity... and comically premature coverage!
Give it a listen and see what you think. And let BK know if you think he was "soft" or just unwilling to be a total moron at the gym.
AK

puddle,
A Kaman for Wallace swap would definitely make sense for both sides.

FROM PALM BEACH, FL
BONSOIR GUYS,
I HAVE A BAD FEELING FOR THE GAME TONIGHT, I SAW DENVER IN MY DREAM COMING TO PLAY WITH THE LAKERS AFTER THE HOUSTON GAME. LAST TIME, THEY PLAYED AN EX-MEMBER OF DENVER, IVERSON: WE LOST
I AM VERY SICK WITH A HIGH FEVER AND MY ENERGY IS LOW FOR THE TEAM MEANING WE HAVE 50/50 FOR THE RESULT TONIGHT.
OUR TEAM MUST FOCUS 100% IF NOT WE CAN BE BURNT TONIGHT(9/2)
FANS AT STAPLE CENTER, PLEASE, GIVE OUR TEAM SOME ENERGY TONIGHT.
LOVE TO ALL

Rick,
I didn't think it was snotty. It's a form of truth, which is a good thing.
I was just thinking of the Lakers facebook potential, too.
Party anyone?

Xodus,
Here's why the Clippers made the trade...
1. Zach Randolph used to play for Dunleavy. He knows the system.
2. Tim Thomas used to play for D'Antoni and he played well for him.
3. Tim Thomas has been the Clippers Kwame Brown for the last couple years. Though Kwame Brown won the NBA players survey of "Players who do the least with the amount of talent they have" HANDILY, Tim Thomas took second place with a LOT of votes. Nobody else was even vaguely close. If memory serves correct, Kwame and Tim Thomas collectively got 75% of the vote. The other 25% went to about a dozen other players collectively. In short, Tim Thomas is a cancer and for the Clippers to move forward they had to get rid of him.
4. Cuttino Mobley (one of my favorite Clippers) is getting a bit older and while he has stepped up his game in other elements and sometimes can still really turn it on, his consistency has been not as reliable as you would like it to be.
5. The Clippers really want to be a winning team. So they have to do what they have to do to compete in a town run by the Lakers.
Go Clippers!
GO LAKERS!

By the way, Al Thorton is the real deal. Future All-Star potential.

Kaman for JRich would make sense, as Eric Gordon isn't ready to start. The young Clipper that is ready, however, is Al Thornton and Wallace would seemingly just get in his way.

BREAK IT DOWN FOR ME: NEW-LOOK LAKERS

***How the League’s no. 1 defense happened***
Excellent article on the Lakers defense with some PER stats that eerily support what most of us have been commenting about. Great analysis of what is making the Lakers defense work position by position. High on Drews’ job, worried about Fisher’s and Farmar’s work.
Every Lakers fan should read this article. One of the best to come around IMHO.

The basis for my silly and contrived play on words:
>In the Clippers defense, they're likely the best team on >NBA Live 2009 now. haha

I apologize.
At any rate...in important news (none more important), Bynum will get it. Why? Because he's smart and he works hard and he's been put in a very difficult situation.
And because his getting it is the key to us going over the top and being truly dominant. And anything less that that would be unconscionable. So, I repeat, he'll get it.
48 minutes of focused aggression on the way,
GO LAKERS!

LakerTom,

RE: friday games. The Lakers have actually fared pretty well on Fridays in the Jackson era. They are 99-50 (.664) on Fridays while they are 440-666 (.661) overall. By far the worst game day for the Lakers is Wednesday at 71-47(.601). The best day is Sunday at 99-43(.697) with Monday a tick behind at 32-14 (.696).

Nice to see the SUNS D lock down kobey and gasal, and the Shack victory over bynum in the paint. I can't get too mad about radmanavich getting unconcious other than barnes blowing his covers and giving him wide-opens. Shooters all get hot at some point.
Seeing as how the Suns' best bench scorer was missing, and any semblance of inspired offense was too, I think the 13 pts hardly qualifies as a laker win.

"but I can believe the weak angle that you are trying to spin. "
You can believe it? Thanks!
Truth is, Suns are a good match up for the lakers and I would love to see them in the playoffs fighting it out. Shack was able to dominate the paint, the Suns were able to contain kobey, and the Suns just missed some shots.
What I really enjoyed was seeing the Suns bench outplay the laker bench in the first half. How about Sean Singletary taking it to Farmer?
