No Purple, Gold and Blue today

July 2, 2008 | 10:02 am

Sorry, but I have somewhere I have to be at that time and BK is out of the country on vacation.  Thus, we gotta cancel this week.  But tune in seven days hence, when we probably have definitive developments to discuss with Ronny Turiaf, Sasha Vujacic and anything else related to free agency.

Thanks,

AK

Where will we go? I feel like a homeless...

Enjoy the time off k-bros.

What would you say if I told you with the clippers and blazers being better next year that the suns may not make the playoffs?

Little stevie wants to change the mentality of the team to defense -- too bad nash sucks at defense, shaq is too old to play defense, and amare hates defense. nash was always been overrated and will go down as the only mvp never to get his team to the finals – what a disaster. Oh - and enjoy shaq missing 30 games next year suns fans.

The anihalation of the suns will be complete in 2009.

Would certain suns fans on this blog have a coronary if the suns don't make the playoffs? We’ll send an ambulance over around April 15, 2009.

And stop pretending to be celtics fan – it’s amateur hour. Although the celtics are loathed, they at least are respected for their accomplishments. Your team on the other hand is the butt of jokes with Laker fans. Your team is a loser and will always be – how does no championships in your lifetime sound? Them are just the facts. You ranting, raving, and drooling on yourselves won’t change that.

It won't matter what defensive presence the Lakers sign for next year, If the Lakers themselves don't come out strong defensively next year and convince the refs and the rest of the league that defense is how they're going to win their games. Convince the league that your a defensive team now, and Sasha will be allowed to mug, slap push. Block calls that were called on the Lakers all of a sudden turn to offensive charges on the apposing team, over the the back all of a sudden become good rebounds for us. Contact on the body become good blocks for Bynum. Why do the Lakers need Posey? All I heard about Posey when he won a championship with Miami was that he was a good outside shooter, but I didn't hear much about his D. Only when K.G signed with the C's did everyone on that roster suddenly become better defenders. This is how the C's became a great defensive team, they had everyone convinced, so they were allowed to play dirty. Hell they were allowed to push refs, we all seen it, right.
Keep Sasha and Turiaf, with Bynum coming back next year, the Lakers WILL convince and Sasha WILL be a better defensive player just like Posey (eff that celtic, don't need him). Also with Bynum in the mix and the league well convinced, Turiaf will stay out of foul trouble, poor guy had crazy bogus calls called on him all last year.

Have a good vacation!

Hello hello, K bros you there?

I don't wanna hear about any vacation time, If we're all hear at work bloggin, then you guys need to be at work bloggin.

you guys are right, i am a moron..and the celtics suck...

let me go paint my toenails....cause I am kinda girly....and a wus....

Sonny Belfast or Fairweather Fatty,

RE: Ron Artest

Technically, can he still opt out from his contract? Does it mean that he has to opt out on Day 1?

Fatty, with regards to your things to do for Mitch: Please include find a market for Luke or Vlady b/c Jerry Buss will not OVERSPEND to 90m to pay luxury taxes. If like Artest, they will not retain Odom in '09 Season, find a suitable suitor now with the other two mentioned, that's just business decision. Here is the reason why JB will pay gargantuan taxes? This is in continuation of the story about the Lakers under Dr. Jerry Buss: Courtesy of California Sports

"Once he (Jerry Buss) was firmly ensconced in the business he loved best--professional sports--Buss started selling off his real estate businesses to concentrate on the Lakers. That, along with his free spending on players, led to a minor financial crisis in his company, California Sports, Inc. In February 1985 a Los Angeles television station reported that the company's banks were considering a seizure of the Kings and Lakers, which were held as collateral on unpaid loans. Without explicitly denying the charges, Buss managed to avoid foreclosure, and the banks were not exactly anxious to foreclose, fearing such a move could force their market value down. Buss' marketing innovations, such as the Showtime concept, helped offset the crises. In 1988 he put together one of the first corporate licensing deals in professional sports with the great Western Financial Corporation worth $17.8 million after which the Forum was renamed the Great Western Forum. Buss sold off his holdings in the unsuccessful L.A. Kings hockey team piecemeal between 1986 and 1989 to Bruce McCall, an antique coin dealer."

-- I just have haunch that Dr. Buss will not overextend in paying too high luxury taxes although dynamic could change with participation of minor partners. Lakers is also co-owned by AEG Enterprises, Anshultz and Magic Johnson as minority partners.

What about Corey to the Lakers? He looks like he will be taking the MLE from a playoff team, wouldnt he be worth spending the full MLE on? Can't he play SF move Lamar to the the second unit? I rather have Corey then Posey for the same price.

Thoughts?

Hi Edwin,

Artest made his bed and has to sleep in it.

Deadline for him to opt has come and past.

Re: Buss

He always is saying he doesn't have the deep pockets like some owners. I guess he means it.

That's why I've always proposed a sale of the Lakers to a Mark Cuban like guy who has no concept of lux penalties or better yet, Lakers sell to one of the oil companies.

Which are so rich, they are currently loaning money to the US Mint.

The only downside to either endeavor would be Mark would want to change the Lakers name to the Cubans. (which would make Fidel happy)

or...

And if you think people hate the Lakers now, renaming Staples to the 'Exxon Valdez Arena' (Wasn't there an ARCO Arena in Sactown?)

Oil company owner might not be a good idea after all if 'The Yes We Can Man' wins. I think his answer to 'should we nationalize the oil companies? was, "Yes we can and yes we will." haha jk

Let's go c's,
remember to take your daily medication and down it with plenty of generic beer. No need to waste the good stuff, like "Budd", no....you are a man amongst men. I'm glad that you are opening up to us about your bi-sexual thoughts and acts. It's ok, come move to malaboo, as you called it, and you can be neighbors with the big STICKIT, Based on your writings, which I am sharing with the blogs of all the other NBA teams, I sense you are a shrewd businessman. Or just a broke nobody. Anyway, when you get kicked out of Malaboo, stick out your thumb, that thing that you suck on all the time, keep your eyes on a mustang with a blonde driving it, maybe there will be a handsome plastic companion with her, that would be Malaboo Ken, (your revealing sexual thoughts would make this a perfect ménage à trois,....you, (come on out, let that Caligula come out of your inner being), Malaboo Barbi and Ken. Be careful of Skipper though, I believe she's underage. Enjoy, then ask them to drop you off in Santa Monica, which is a very liberal city. They take care of the homeless, or leave them be. They don't do like other cities here do, (the police will pick them up, then drop them off in another city). When you get acclimated, e-mail us and we'll all come down to greet you. I'll bring the Kool Aid.

Back to Blog, poor Baron, he's going to have to keep reminding himself that his team is the Clippers and not the Lakers. I saw Baron and Fish as teammates (sic?) during one Honolulu preseason, They were almost indistinguishable, Fisher's skills will drop off eventually, but he is still damn good, Baron would not have been a great fit in the triangle, I think he holds the ball too long. RonRon, at least he admitted his misjudgement. That's why you have to think with your heart and not your wallet sometimes. Remember Rick Fox played for his first 2 years with the lakers for about a million per, after turning down something like 20 over 4/5 from Atlanta I believe. And he's one of our favorites, is he a Boston favorite, noooooooooo he's Benedict Arnold probably.

Remember let's go c's, think before you think, then you willl think that you are thinking what you are supposed to be thinking.

My apologies to the blog, but let's go c's (lgc) needs help. Its ok to come out of the closet. It's ok to have a few extra chromosomes. You're special and that is why I want to see you happy.

Please stop talking to them. It's like Jon K. says, if you just ignore them, then they will go away. Don't even read the posts. Look down at the name first.

Seriously. If you don't engage, they'll get bored and go away.

Pig Miller

My worry is we might hehehehehehehhe
start to hahahahahha act and
talk like them
hahahahah loser hahahahahaha
hehehehehehhehehehehehehe.

We have learned though what the average intelligence of a Celtic's fan is. I already knew what Suns fans are like, and was a little surprised they marry their cousins back East as well.

I read the article but I would not in effect LO for Artest.
Sorry but if the Kings want to move him they now have less levarage as they now risk losing him to free agency and get nothing in return. Why trade and lose players when he could be had for price of contract. The alternative say in the Lakers case would be to take trade of Luke and Vlade and then Package Luke or Vlade with Biedrens for another player they would prefer. They get something intead of nothing or make trade with team other than Lakers if they offer more. Either way RA has more leverage now over Kings.

if buss isnt incline to giving anymore big salaries then maybe we just have to kiss goodbye to bynum who is asking for max deal. Any way i dont think he deserves it. This make me wish we should have dealt bynum instead of marc gasol. I wonder if the Gasol brothers would play great together. That would have been nice to watch.
