The Boston GANG GREEN is a most potent and lucky franchise. They nearly always get the breaks and win whenever facing their favorite dish, the overconfident and popular kids from LA.

Perhaps the reason why the lakers and their fans fear Paul Pierce so is that he is just as arrogant, talented and pretentious as their mvp bryant. Pierce is salivating at the chance to exploit the spongy laker D and realize his dreams fostered long ago in the shadow of the Forum.

This series is in Ray Allen's hands more than kobe's. Since neither of them is quite a Steve GNASH, they must duel with their merely mortal talents. And this puts the lakers at a disadvantage - if RA gets hot in a few games, Phil Jackson's last title will indeed remain his last.

And if so, America will smile as the arrogant kids from Pollutionville, CA leave the court with heads hung low. The SUNS will own the lakers next season and more proudly represent the WC in the Finals, making this fleeting chance at a title all the more painful and visceral for laker fans.

You have to take your hat off to the great Steve GNASH, who gave Phil Jackson his first Round One loss ever. And, after the lakers were up 3-1!

If I drink a shot of vodka every time ABC shows a clip of McHale clotheslining Rambis, will I maintain a nice buzz?

Even though I'm near LA-BOS nostalgia overload, there was a great FSN special on the famed Magic v Bird mtg in the NCAA tourney last night. What stuck out to me was when asked about what winning that game meant to him, Magic responded simply that he was glad he was able to get that one from Larry. What was special about the rivalry between those two players was that both of them knew that neither of them was going to be able to win every battle. Magic would win some and Bird would win some. But it was okay b/c having that person to battle was what made it worth it.

Just like Sam Jackson's character in Unbreakable - when you're a supervillain, you need a super-hero to do battle with. To me, that is David Stern's true dream come true scenario. To have another decade of equal superstars on separate coasts that you expect to meet and do battle in the Finals every year.

Okay, the Bill Simmons article was crap, but this line made enduring his drek worthwhile:

Game day has finally arrived. The Celtics will be nervous... this is a stage that NONE of them has been on. They just don't have the Finals experience of our Laker squad.

That said, this isn't the time to get cocky, Laker Nation. I'm not predicting a sweep. I'm just hoping for one.

Time for the Lakers to shock the world.

Note: it is the key to win the game by taking BRAVEHEART against Perkins

I think this series doesn't come down to each team's strengths but rather the overlooked part of their games.

Will the Lakers defense allow Boston to feel too comfortable on offense? That's what happened in 04. A team that traditionally had to work very hard on offense (coming off a tough series against Indy), all of a sudden didn't have to and thus became a scoring machine.

If the Lakers' are indecisive on offense, expect to see a lot of turnovers leading to easy transition baskets for Boston. Same thing if players penetrate into the lane and expect to be able to be bailed out by an open teammate in the paint. Not happening against this team.

If Kobe decides to dare anyone to shoot or play free-safety, then expect Boston to find the open man pretty easily for wide open jump-shots. They may not be San Antonio in that regard but they're still a very good passing team. If the Lakers double anyone, especially Garnett, it'll be a recipe for disaster b/c he's too good a passer and can see too easily over double teams. Plus, the Lakers double is often very soft, more of another player like LO or Vlad "shading" to the double which accomplishes nothing other than leaving someone wide open.
