Live from the Finals, Game 2: Lakers vs. Celtics

BK here.  Wow, fans are fired up.  During the National Anthem, whenever they showed a Laker on the Jumbotron, the crowd booed.  Then a Celtic, with wild cheering.  Another Laker, more booing.  Right now, the members of the Boston Pops who performed tonight are wondering why the crowd only seemed to enjoy half of their effort.

After the Lakers were introduced, they're now showing highlights from Game 1, leading off with Paul Pierce's return to the court in Game 1, and capped with KG's offensive rebound and dunk that sealed the deal for Boston.

It's certainly a hostile environment for a very important Game 2.

FIRST QUARTER:

Celtics turn the ball over on their first trip, as Kendrick gets dinged for the illegal screen.  The Lakers respond with a nice possession- an offensive rebound for Gasol, then the reset, swing the ball around and Fish finds a cutting LO to get the Lakers on the board.

Pierce hits a three on the other end, and the Celtics are up 3-2.

10:20- Kobe grabs the offensive board but misses the putback.  I know he talked about bunnies in Game 1- that was a bunny.

10:06- Vlad picks up his second foul, and PJ comes back with Ariza.  Solid move.

In Game 1, when Vlad got into foul trouble, PJ responded with Sasha, and it threw off the entire rotation once Fish had to come back in on Cassell, Kobe had to pick him up, etc.  Now with Ariza, they basically keep the substitution pattern the same and hopefully get the regular minutes that they want from everyone else.

8:00- Nice play from Gasol, backing Perkins down in the post, faking right, going with the left hand for the bucket.  Points in the post.  They need that.  10-5.

5:07- Timeout on the floor, Lakers up 15-12, and Boston making a little push.  The Lakers are doing a much better job early in Game 2 getting the ball inside.  LO had a nice tip in off the offensive glass over Perkins, Gasol hit a baby hook with the left over Perkins in the lane, then had a great move backing down Garnett and throwing down with the right hand.  Good patience, good aggressiveness.  If they can keep this up, combine it with Kobe's normal crank up as the game goes on and they could be in good shape.

The important thing is that they don't want to freak out and stop doing all the things that got them there, just because the Celtics are a strong team.

Walton in for Ariza out of the TO.  He's guarded by Pierce.

4:18- Good play by Gasol and Walton.  Luke had Pierce sealed on his back, Pau led him forward, and Walton was able to go in for the layup.  Good recognition, good pass, good finish.

3:45- Allen hits a three over Kobe, and it's tied at 17.

Allen fouls Kobe on the other end- it's the first Celtics foul of the game, over eight minutes in.

3:04- 19-18 LAL.  The Celtics are still making things very tough for Kobe, who is now trying to get into the post on Allen.  The looks are coming for other players right now, and they'll have to get Kobe catching and moving to find him some space.

2:06- Kobe throws a pretty weak elbow- it' looked more like he was putting his arm up to gain position on Allen, and he just wasn't there yet.  Either way, it was a pretty soft whistle to pick up his second foul of the game.  Full speed it looked much worse than it did on the replay... and at full speed it still didn't look that bad. Two on Kobe, two on Vlad.

Farmar and Sasha in off the TO.

:44.3- Farmar draws a foul on Rondo, his first.  The trip before, Garnett hit a big shot for the Celtics at the bottom of the 24, after the Lakers had done a nice job and forced the Celtics into a hurried shot.

Wow, that was a clear flop on Perkins. That kind of thingThen it gets worse for the Lakers, as LO picks up his second foul on the next Celtics possession.  The Lakers end the quarter with Vlad, Kobe, and LO all with two fouls.

Farmar hits a big three at the end of the quarter, and the Lakers are up 22-20.

END OF THE FIRST:

On the scoreboard, it's a good quarter.  The Lakers got inside with Gasol, Odom made his way into the lane a couple times, Fish has stuck some good open looks.  Kobe has only taken four shots, made one.  On the other end, the Lakers are doing a good job, holding Boston to 20 points, keeping them off the glass (one offensive rebound), and forcing five TOs.   They certainly look like a more composed bunch tonight.  They've had much more to say about the pace and flow of the game tonight than they did on Thursday.

SECOND QUARTER:

Seconds in for LA- all of 'em.  Ariza, Turiaf, Walton, Farmar, Sasha.  With three starters having three fouls, PJ has to try and get some minutes from these guys.

11:21- Sasha gets hit for the reach before Powe gets contact inside, but fortunately he misses the shot.  Two FTs go down, and we're tied at 22.

9:40- Pierce hits a three, and PJ is forced to call a timeout, likely to get some new personnel on the floor.  There's just not enough offense with that group.  The bad charge call on LO and the faux elbow against Kobe have certainly hamstrung the Lakers at the top of the quarter.  10-0 run to start the quarter for the Celtics.

PJ hoped to squeeze some minutes from the seconds given all the foul trouble, but I don't think he'll be able to.  Kobe, LO, Vlad all back after the timeout.

Kobe hits his first shot on the return.  They've got him operating out of the post, and he and Posey are beating on each other pretty good.

8:10- Great offensive rebound from Vlad, then a lucky break as the pass he threw out to the top of the key as he was falling out of bounds was tipped, but went right to Odom who put it down.

On the other end, Turiaf picks up a questionable foul on Powe- looked like he went straight up to defend the shot as the ball came into the post.  That's two on him, and another Laker with some early foul trouble.

7:04- Kobe hits a jumper at the top of the key over Powe.  Said Mark Heisler sitting next to me, "That's another 20 foot bunny with a hand on his face."  Lakers down 36-30.

6:40- Fish reaches in on the Garnett drive and picks up his second foul.  They really do like to do things as a team.

5:50- Pierce blows by Vlad on the perimeter like he's standing still- was he actually standing still, and has way too much room to roam inside on the Lakers- he dishes to Perkins who up-fakes Pau completely out of position, and as Gasol lands on his back Perkins gets the layup.  He'll go to the line with a chance to put the Celtics up by nine.  Right now, it's 40-32 with a timeout on the floor.

The Lakers are still struggling to find rhythm offensively after a pretty strong start.  Only 10 points in the quarter, and most importantly, they've been to the line all of one time--- on a technical foul.  Boston: 14 trips, nine alone for Powe.

5:30- Nice play by Odom, tipping in the Vlad tip of the Kobe miss from downtown.  That's Odom's second tip in, but it was set up by a good effort from Vlad to keep the play alive.  Vlad hurt them with the early two, but it seems to have fired him up a little.  He's been very active since he returned to the game.

4:42- The Lakers finally get a bit of a make up call, as Perkins is hit with a pretty weak push off call underneath.  Looked like he had position on Odom.  That's his third.

4:22- Nice recognition by Vlad and Pau- after the screen switch, Gasol had Pierce on his back.  Vlade left him the ball, and Pau want straight over Pierce, backing him down and putting it in with the right hand to get the bucket and draw the and one on Pierce.  That's his second.  Lakers down by 4, 41-37.

2:52- Timeout Lakers, as consecutive triples from teh Lakers give the Celtics a 10 point lead.  The Lakers have totally been removed from their offense.  They're struggling to find good looks for Kobe, who is in turn trying to create them himself, which is hurting the offense.  The threw in a little P and R on the last possession before Fish took a very bad shot from downtown.  That could help.

2:05- A triple from Vlad Rad cuts the lead to 47-40.  He's been one of their best players in the quarter.

1:53- Ouch.  Kobe picks up his third, running through Pierce while chasing Allen around the floor.  He'll have to sit for the rest of the half, and Allen gets both FTs (the Lakers are in the penalty).  Sasha in for Kobe.

:23.9- Fish picks up his third.  This isn't good.

HALFTIME: 54-42 Boston.

A promising start has turned sour for the Lakers, as they've continued to struggle with fouls.  Kobe has three, Fish has three, Vlad started the game with two, LO has two, Ariza two, Turiaf two, and so on.  All told, it's 17 personals in the first half for the Lakers, 10 for the Lakers.  FT disparity, 19-2 Boston, and one of those for the Lakers was on a Garnett technical foul.  So in game play, it's 19-1.  The Lakers are getting it done in the paint behind a strong 13 from Gasol and eight from Odom, but the Celtics have effectively removed Kobe as a threat going to the basket, and you can see he's getting frustrated.

On the ol' to do list, the Lakers have done a good job on the boards, with a 19-17 advantage, but clearly haven't mastered teh whole "don't foul" thing.  Some of that is home court for Boston, some of that is aggressiveness on their part, but the officiating hasn't been particularly helpful to say the least.  Some very critical calls on Odom and Kobe early that have changed the flow of the game considerably.

It's a good thing halftime in the Finals is long, because they have a lot to talk about.

THIRD QUARTER:

Nothing like web access in the upper press box.

Anyway, with 4:29 left, the Lakers have used a 6-0 run to cut the Boston lead to nine.  Three straight plays off screens, with Kobe moving the ball.  High screen and roll with Pau and Kobe, LO flashes to high post, Kobe hits him, Pau rolls, easy dunk.  Pretty.  Next play, Kobe comes off the Pau screen, finds space, hits the tough J.  Then Kobe rolls over, finds Pau flashing to the FT line for an open jumper.  Better ball movement, more baskets.

The Celtics are a tough team to come back on, especially if things get rushed.  The Lakers just have to continue to be patient and work the ball around.   PJ employs a baby press out of the TO.  More for show than anything else.

3:00- Consecutive poor plays from Vlad, as he drives and kicks to... nobody, then loses Pierce on hte other side for an easy Boston bucket.  Kobe forces two straight threes and the Lakers look extremely close to coming unglued.

Luke in for Vlad, and misses his first J.  Allen hits a three on the other end in the left corner as LO can't find him on the break, Kobe turns the ball over trying to lob the ball to Pau in the post, and off the TO, the Celtics come back and get an easy layup for Powe, from Rondo on the little lob in transition.  The Celtics lead is now up to 20, and the Lakers officially have, um, issues.  They're just getting thoroughly outplayed in every aspect of the game.

Boston is able to break them down in almost every trip down, and the Lakers haven't been able to stay disciplined on the other side, or hit anything from the perimeter that might stretch things out.

1:20- Lakers down 79-59.

1:10- And in the "bad to worse" category, LO picks up his fifth, a charge into Brown trying to drive to the hoop.

END OF THE THIRD:

Powe punctuates the quarter with a dunk, as the Lakers get burned by Rondo penetration to end the quarter.  They double Pierce on the wing, he passes out to Rondo, who drives in space, has an open look and an easy dump to Powe who has an even easier dunk.  83-61.  There's always hope... but man alive, there ain't much right now.

FOURTH QUARTER:

10:00- The Lakers are still down by 21 as the Lakers are getting some ball movement, but no stops defensively.  They're still being broken down.  At this point, though, they're being careful not to foul and put the Lakers on the line.  The only way they're going to lose this game is to give them free points.

9:20- Farmar hits another three, and the Lakers are down 18.

KG comes back with two jumpers in front of Turiaf on the other end, and the Celtics lead is back to 20.

During the TO, they're playing "Don't Stop Believing."  Not a hard thing for the Celtics fans to buy into right now.  PJ comes out of the TO with Gasol and Rad back on the floor, and give up what might have been the worst baset in basketball history, a coast to coast dunk from Leon Powe, in which nobody even moved to defend him.  That was awful.

6:45- Pau to Kobe attempt at the alley oop goes awry, as Kobe can't get the handle the pass, and the ball goes out of bounds.  That's about how things have been going.

5:56- Lakers down 96-78.

4:41- The Celtics are more than willing to trade buckets, and are now laying off the Lakers on that end, which is why they're scoring with more easy.  Unfortunately, because the Lkers are down by so much, they have to take a lot of risks defensively, and Boston is getting a lot of clean looks, making it tough to get any traction.

3:48- The lead is down to 13, so it's still a game, but barring a miracle, the hole is too big.

2:45- But at least they're still playing.  Kobe triple cuts the deficit to 11, but they'll send Rondo to the line out of the TO, as Sasha fouls him on the drive.

2:15- Kobe drives and hits the floater along the right block to cut the lead down to nine, but Pierce converts inside on the other end.  Back to 11. Kobe gets inside again for another layup.  Fish gets the steal, Vlad goes the other way, hits Sasha, who buries the three.  Celtics now by six with a minute six to play...

1:03- Vlad Rad forces the steal, then goes the other way for the dunk.  It looked initially like he traveled, but on the replay it was that Euro off-step takeoff.  Lakers down by four with a minute on the clock and Boston with the ball.  Clearly I put this one in the win category too early.  The Celtics went into the prevent defense, and the Lakers have brought the game back.  Now it's a question of a) if the Lakers can get stops, and b) if the Celtics can turn it up again.

Pierce fouls Kobe on the floor, and Bryant goes to the line and hits two.  Lakers down by a pair.  They need a stop...

Fish fouls Pierce on the drive, and he'll go to the line for two with 22.8 left on the clock... makes the first.  Three point Boston lead.

and the second.  Lakers call timeout, down 106-102.

Sasha tries to take a three, and Pierce recovers to block it. Not the shot they were looking for.  Posey tracks down the ball, and is fouled by Fish who was pushing for ball.  Posey makes two, and that's gonna be it.

Final score 108-102.

More to come.

cant believe there are Celtic fans on here giving grief to Laker fans? get a life... go on your own blog... Must feel awesome rooting for a contrived team with Gatorade ads pretty much predicting their outcome... Lakers are the better playing team and the world realizes this.

I've always been impressed by the preparation that PJ's coaching staff had done in all of PJ's previous playoff series.

But I'm a bit surprised by the lack of preparation this Lakers team has for this series compared to other PJ teams of the past. It's not like the Celts are doing anything unexpected.

Odom seems lost often and PJ mentioned that fact in his press conference. Also, Gasol often looks out of position on defense. And Lakers often have trouble getting the ball to Kobe in open space. Sure, part of that is due to Celtics defense but not all of it.

This Celtic group has been together since the start of the season so they have been playing together a long time. In contrast, Pau joined in the middle of the season and Lamar's role also changed when Pau came in. The lack of playing time the Lakers current starting five have is having an impact in this series. Of course the unpredictable officiating is also throwing Odom and Gasol off. I'm sure these 2 will get it together in LA.

Also, the youth and inexperience of the Lakers bench is coming out as a disadvantage in this series on the away games. But I know they will be more confident on the home games.

The margins of victory by the Celts in games 1 and 2 have been pretty slim and they are just getting by on homecourt advantage and biased officiating. They won't have those advantages in LA.

I want to hear EVERY FREAKIN STAPLES CENTER FAN just be loud as ever...

I am frickin serious....

Refs.....they suck.

The fact is, Laker defense must have been named after the the airport....LAX.

There were some bogus calls, but don't look to go to the foul line as often as an athletic inside banger, if you shoot outside jumpers all night.
Budda had a bad game plan and the execution was worse tonight.

The 2nd quarter officiating disgusted me. That is where the game was taken from us. There's a play where Cassell's shot was blocked, Ariza grabbed the ball, Cassell RAMMED him from behind, and Ariza was called for the loose ball foul right after..that was how the quarter went. Celts foul or play crazy physical with no calls against them, while we get called for phantom or touch fouls...over and over and over.

I love my Lakers, but I can't take the inconsistent officiating...it seems worse than ever. I never thought I would say this, but I'm close to giving up on the NBA. And, I've been a fan for over 20 years.

The rally was awesome, but we shouldn't have had to rally. We got robbed.

The officials for tonight's game were:

#41 K. Mauer

#43 D. Crawford

#26 B. Delaney

Pay attention. These 3 guys, especially Crawford, have ref'd some pretty suspicious games in these playoffs.

Apparently "Veteran" Official means "more willing to be on the take" when it comes to who they choose to ref the games

Phred,

You really need to learn how to have conviction about things. Agree or not, at least my opinions sometimes hit hard. Your opinions are as fluffy as a puppy's fur.

You remind me of Richard Simmons, that little chubby, curly headed, aerobics guy that was popular in the 80's. I can just see you now, watching the Lakers, chanting in a high pitched voice, "don't give up, don't give up, I luvvv you."

Sure wouldn't want to go to an alley fight with you.

bye bye Lakers...

CELTICS by 4.

Posted by: can2tinckobe

---------

Celtics won by 6, not 4. I know they don't really teach you math out there in Boston, but for future reference, 108-102 = 6.

6 is also the same number of games the Lakers will win this series in. Maybe that will help drive it home to you.

AK/BK

in your analysis, can you make a focused explanation on the foul situation? i know celtics may have driven more or whatever, but its hard for lakers to run, play with rhythm, consistency when there is so a sharp contrast. lakers can blame themselves for porous defense, sloppy play, but they have every right to include refs as to why they lost the game!

I agree the NBA isn't fixed, that's just ridiculous. But I do think certain officiating crews get caught up in the home crowd, perhaps even intimidated, and call the game one way. This game was a perfect example. The ref's had no trouble blowing the whistles on the Celtics drives to the bucket...yet swallowed them on the other end. I think another thing is the NBA has already given the Celtics their due as a great defensive team (see: Spurs), so the refs give them the benefit of the doubt more often than not. Again, understandable. But 38-10 is downright ridiculous. Perhaps a disparity of 15 is more reasonable, but 28 is incomprehensible. I'm just afraid the refs didn't give the Lakers any respect on the defensive end, yet gave the Celtics waaaaay too much leeway on the other...

REFS

It's been the Celtics championship to lose all year.
We're 0-4 against them and they've upped their game from the 1st two rounds.

They won it at the free throw line, The disparity was glaring, obvious, even wrong, but that doesn't mean conspiracy.

Games with officials are flawed. The flaws are part of the game. Complaining is part of the game, till the game is over. Then ya have to let it go or watch golf.

Hey Boston Fans

YOU SUCK!!! It's not over.

LAKERS in 7

SUCK IT

The game was effectively lost the first two minutes of the second qtr. Up 22-20, the Lakers' subs give up a 10-0 run while committing FOUR team fouls. Boston dominated from there until the comeback. It's easy to launch and hit threes when you're down a ton. The comeback showed character and heart though - things that the Lakers have not shown enough of so far in this series.

All is not lost - but a sweep at home is almost imperative, and Boston's defense appears to be too tough to lose four of the next five games. The calls will even out, but the Lakers have to toughen up in a hurry in order to win in Boston.

Kobe handled the post game conference with great class. And he has the fire still. THIS SERIES IS NOT OVER!

Forget about the refs now. We have three games at home now and WE WILL BE READY.

And btw, I hate the Celtics. Here are some notes to the people I hate.

1. Pierce. What a faker. Its funny how you just earned a reputation for the rest of your career by that BS acting job. I watched game 1 again on TiVo, and watched how as you came jogging out of the tunnel as you returned post *****"injury"******, Jogging totally normally and then as soon as you come into view of the fans you start hop jogging. Weak. Also, you flop a bunch.

Moreover, you have a weird smug look on your face, always.

2. Garnett. First of all, the pubic hair on your chin. Not cool dude. It's gross and it's you're being a bad role model for posey, or is that perkins, one of whom is copying you. I'm not sure, they look the same, except one of them has gross pubes on their chin too. I think its perkins. Anyways your "hunger" and fierce competitive nature is belied by the fact that you appear to disappear every 4th quarter. How did it feel to have Gasol posterize you?

3. Cassell. I like you, my little alien friend. Keep shooting. And if the feds ever come looking for you, you can hide in my closet.

4. Doc Rivers. 1 word for you. Lozenge.

5. Powe. Get on board, son. It's not a moustache, you;re supposed to have a goatee.

6. Celtics rims. You hear how they clank?

7. Marv Albert. BANG! no literally, bang. I wish someone would blow your hairpiece right off your head. Turiaf's clean block and you're saying, "foul should be called even after the shot completed because that's how fouls are defined int teh NBA rulebook. I have never heard you question a single call blown by any ref ever. If refs called every foul "by the book" there would be six fols called one very possession.

Just accept the fact that the game is infinitely more enjoyable to watch when you're terrible commentating (along with van gundy and jackson) are on mute. Annoying voice gone, player worship & east coast gushing gone. Give me Stu.

Janet,
I never thought I would say this, but I am too close to giving up on the NBA.

As much as I love basketball, I am going to have to take it down a notch on my importance scale.

I'm a diehard fan and I hate to say it, but what happened tonite was just not right.

I have never seen such a bad bad display of lopsided officiating.

Michael Wilbon called it embarassing.

I call it league-destroying and soon, all the good fans in the game will stop paying for league pass, buying jerseys and making sure they make it back in time to watch b-ball games..

cant believe there are Celtic fans on here giving grief to Laker fans? get a life... go on your own blog... Must feel awesome rooting for a contrived team with Gatorade ads pretty much predicting their outcome... Lakers are the better playing team and the world realizes this.

Yeah, and Phred is attacking us Laker fans for calling out the refs for corruption. Phred doesn't see anything wrong with how the refs called the game. He'd prefer to spend his blog time defending the refs and supporting the Spurs fans.

Halftime of Game 2 of the NBA Finals, Boston up by 12. One of the worst officiated halves of basketball I have ever seen…pretty close to the first half of Lakers-Spurs, Game 4. Maybe more miserable because of the free throw disparity, 19-2. Leon Powe has 9 FT attempts. Normally, I’d assume that he got a bunch of offensive boards, and got fouled on put-back attempts. Nope. Powe has 1 FG attempt and 1 rebound…and 9 free throws.

The worst isn’t even the fouls called on the Lakers, though at least 5 have been questionable (including all 3 on Kobe). The worst is the inconsistency. The Lakers can’t touch a single Celtic, but the Celtics have to really mug a Laker to get called. I mean, the Lakers have had one – one! – shooting foul called for them.

This is tough to watch. Maybe the Celtics are better than the Lakers are. It’s sure hard to tell, though, when they’re taking players out of the game on touch fouls. I wish we could just have a real basketball game.

That was one of the worst calls ever against the Lakers at the end of the game. The one that gave Pierce his 2 FT's. I honestly did not see any foul against Pierce. If there are fouls against watching a person jump, then these rules honestly suck.

I REALLY, REALLY, HOPE THIS IS THE IDEA.

Referees are told to favor the home team in each game until Game 7, then all bets are off. Right now I would take it. I think we can beat these guys anywhere with fair refereeing. Like I said hopefully they continue to give it to the home team and then let loose in Game 7. That is our only chance.

Hi everyone: All I can say is its past my bed time and you guys have 910 comments from the game post. That is way more than our LAL bench will ever contribute tonight. UGHHHHHHHHH. I need to sleep because I won't like what I have to write. And I need to be psyched to change the bad karma.

Lakers come back home.... Staples awaits you and we will show those boys from stupid beantown how to lose 3 in a row.

So happy Ariza got in tonight. AK/BK: how do you think he did?

GO LAKERS!!! We aren't giving up on you yet - all they did was hold home court. We can win at home and win 3 in a row.....

GO LAKERS!

To misquote Claude Rains: "I am shocked, SHOCKED the officiating has been this bad!" Look, the officiating has been this lopsided the entire playoffs and the Lakers have benefited from it as much as anyone. How do you think Jazz fans feel now? The Lakers are going to get the same benefits at home from the refs, if for no other reason than it's the NBA/ABC's interest to have as long a series as possible.

I initially called the Celtics in seven, because I think they're the better team this year and because home court has been such an advantage throughout the playoffs. But I'd seriously be surprised if the Lakers didn't win all 3 at home given the Celts' inability to win on the road (except for the Pistons--who also lost to the 76ers at home so go figure) and the fact that the refs will probably send Kobe to the line 40 times a game.

Who else hates - HATES - ABC's coverage? WAY too much yakking about something other than the action taking place at the time. They don't mention team fouls or substitutions, the replays are late, the angles poor. I wish TNT was covering this series.

Pretty good.

I stand by my posts, and I hope the rest of you can say the same. I'm going to bed, I want to see everybody either here or somewhere else cheering for their team on Tues.

How about #26. Delaney? Wasn't the the "former" mafia informant? Seems awfully strange this guy is able to put wiseguys in jail and not have a care in the world about mafia retaliation.

Of course, he wouldn't need to worry about the mafia it he were buying their protection via his helping them with some, um...business transactions in the sports field, shall I say.

we've lost twice but we've yet to have gotten beat. there's a difference in between losing and getting beat and altho we have looked awful at times and there's no way to spin an 0-2 deficit, i feel confident about these next three games...

so confident i'm sticking with my original predicition

LAKERS IN SIX

12 DOWN, 4 MORE TO GO

So, the Celtics turned down the heat when we practiced.

We should not be kind to them when they reach Los Angeles.

Not at all.

GO LAKERS!

"I agree the NBA isn't fixed, that's just ridiculous. "

Why would this be ridiculous?

WOW............
almost a 1000 post.......
how do you guys really feel.

I cam on here to see what the other side is saying. Wow! You sound just like us before the Sox won in 2004.

Now I know how lame we sounded. Thanks for making things clear for me.

Fairweather Fatty,

I agree with you the NBA does not fix games, but other people do.

Dude, I spoke with people out here in Cleveland who were degenerate gamblers and the mafia had clearly picked the Celtics to win.

The officiating was CRAZY tonight. That just doesn't happen. When the fricken mafia wants the Celtics to win and THAT kind of officiating happens, something is terribly wrong.

GO LAKERS!

Kobe is either going prove his worth or he's not. MJ always had his best gsmes when it counted.. No crying, put up or shut up.. No excuses Kobe, you wanted to be the star, now shine like one..

I understand why so many people rather watch college ball then this bs officiating. Lakers never had a chance to get their offensive rhythm. When a defense oriented team like Boston has a chance to set up their defense like that it's going to be very hard to score. The Lakers are a team that likes to run. As you can see in the 4th quarter when no fouls were being called we scored in bunches. We aren't exactly run and gun but we definitely make teams play off turnovers and missed shots. I don't usually make excuses but tonight's officiating was atrocious. The league knows that if the Lakers win tonight they have a very good chance to close out the series much like the Pistons did to us in 2004. This is just a prime example of what a joke the NBA has become. David Stern and Stu Jackson have no clue how to run this league. That is why ratings continue to fall every year (expect this one).

That being said Boston can't handle us on the open court... Why??? Because they don't have a chance to set up their defense. They are a great help defense team. When they shoot fouls and we take out the ball everyone gets back and defends their asses off. What happens when they miss? We run and make easy baskets..... It's simple..... if the refs just let them play this game wouldn't even be close.

The NBA where 38 fouls to 10 fouls happen. I don't want the Lakers to get the same treatment Celtics got at home. We can beat this team fair and square. Just let them play and we'll see what happens. Everything aside we should be proud of what we accomplished this year. Everyone stepped up and everyone played through tough times. This series isn't over yet. If Atlanta and Cleveland can force game 7 so can we.

Time to hit the sack.

I'm going out on a limb and saying the Lakers will win the next 3 games. Why? For these 10 reasons:

1. The Celts have beat the Lakers 4 games in a row. No team can beat the Lakers 5 in a row.
2. The Lakers are nearly unbeatable at home.
3. The Celts are weak on the road.
4. Stern needs this series to go 7 games to maximize his profits.
5. Kobe can't keep having bad games.
6. Us fan will WILL our team to win.
7. Dr. Buss, as I write this, is already contacting "contacts" of $tern to arrange for more "effective" referring.
8. The Celts are getting more and more tired. That's why they almost blew a 24 point lead.
9. Kobe is on a mission.
10. Chick Hearn will help us.

Lakers fans calm down.

The Lakers are going to care of business in Staples Center.

It's a tall order, but I think they can win at least one of four games in Boston.

16...15...14...13...12...11...10...9...8...7...6...5...

So, at halftime I was frustrated.

I went outside to pray.

I prayed for the Lakers victory.

And I received the sense of "Why am I anxious? Things will happen as they will. It is already done."

Let's have faith.

Let's be at peace.

I love this team. I know Laker Nation loves this team.

We have many years of being good, better than we are now.

I strongly believe we will win this Championship.

And I have no fear.

GO LAKERS!

Here we go Red Sox, here we go!

Here we go Patriots here we go!

Here we go Celtics, here we go!

Celtic fan is back Jack.

How'd you all like the game? I know, Lakers ALMOST came back.

Let's go C's!

Let's go C's!

Let's go C's!

Paul Pierce showed Ko-crybaby the "truth". 30 points on 15 shots.

How may shots did Kobe Beefhead need? 30 points on 30 shots.

Inglehood in the house. KG and Ray Allen did good also, but Powe is da King.

38-10. I'm out!

bullcrap officiating

So, ABC plans this half-time piece on Powe, who then goes off for 20 some-odd points, mostly on free throws? Hmmmmm. I used to write scripts for a living and I would be laughed out of the office if I tried to pitch somethin like this or Pierce's miraculous recovery. If they're worried about Pierce's knee why is he in with a 20 pt. lead?

I guess the celtics need alittle officiating help to win...

Cannot believe the lack of calls...Plus Kobe gets a Tech. for something the Celtics and ::cough cough:: KG Does all the time.

Everyone's hot-under-the-collar right now. And everyone has a right to be. And there IS something that the common man can do, to make his voice heard regarding the injustice. Problem is, almost no one is willing to do it...

Just walk away. Don't go to the games. Don't watch them on TV. Don't buy the merchandise. Don't visit the licensed web sites and view the ads placed there.

Vote with your wallet. What would the headline look like, if NO ONE showed up for game 3? Staples - empty, dark, and quiet. What if it stayed that way, and TV ratings dried up as well?

I do have a better idea. We all TIVO the games. If we paid any attention, we'd know exactly who the advertisors are. What if GMC or Coors or Whichever Corporation got flooded with thousands of calls, letters, and emails, telling them that their products will be boycotted by an angry nation. Make the NBA ad dollar cut both ways. Let them receive some negative attention for their involvement with ABC/ESPN, and watch the price of a 60-second spot plummet. The ad dollars decline - the League/Network contracts stop looking so lucrative for the Networks. This for sure - If ABC called Stern and demanded some balanced officiating, it would happen in a heartbeat. But they won't, because we keep buying the crap their trying to sell us.

I don't want to complain about the free throw disparity, because we got a bit of a lucky with the Fisher Barry thing. Still though, 38 to 10? That's abnormal. I could see why the Celtics would get more free throws, because they attacked the rim more, but not 28 more. That's just ridiculous. They were penalizing the Lakers constantly, and therefore they were always in the penalty. Let's say the Celtics had gotten 20 free throws and made 15, the Lakers would have won by six. I'm still okay, because even if we end up losing this year, it's been a great year. And next year we will only be stronger. The only thing that made me furious tonight is the frustration on Kobe's face because they were getting NO calls. Still, even with that the Lakers rallied and almost won. Let's hope for a sweep of the 3 LA games and a win game 6 in Boston. If not, go Lakers 2008-2009!!!

Korey,

Wanna know something crazy. I had some buddy's over and I said the same thing "I may give up on the NBA" the officiating is really taking the heart and love out of the game.

HOW CAN A REF MAKE THAT FOUL CALL FOR PIERCE AT THE END OF THE GAME HE DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHERE THE RIM WAS.

WHY? BECAUSE THEY DIDNT WANT KOBE TO GET THE BALL BACK DOWN 2 WITH 20 SECONDS LEFT.

WORST OFFICIATING GAME EVERRR

1) Boston fans go root for your team on your own blog. Boston sucks and we don't want you here.

2) Lets stop complaining about the officiating. It was BAD, REALLY BAD. But complaining isn't giving us the W.

3) Celtics didn't do anything extraordinary. They won both their home court games by less then 10 points each game.

4) Win or lose this series I'm still PROUD of this Laker TEAM. We were supposed to lose in the first round again and here we are in the Finals. Am I super bummed right now? Ofcourse, but am I also proud? HELL YES.

LETS WIN THE NEXT 3 TO TAKE THE LEAD...

GO LAKERS

I have to add...our "bench mob" has sucked this series. If I see Farmar force another ridiculous driving acrobatic layup that he bricks, I don't know what I'll do. Or, Luke just continue to turn the ball over or play sucky defense or brick another shot...

I was majorly disappointed with our 2nd unit tonight.

BOSTON CELTICS SUCK

Paul Pierce SUCKS IT HARD

BOSTON FANS... Please stay in Boston....

BOSTON SUCKS THE HARD ONE

LOS ANGELES LAKERS VATOS

Phil Jackson just fell to 9-2 in these Game 2s, right?

Doc Rivers is eating PJ's lunch. Just like D'ANTONI did for years.

And, I agree that Pierce was NOT fouled at the end of the game...we watched the replay, and no one could figure out where the foul was.

john ireland, tool haircut withstanding, writes the truth in his current blog

http://cbs2.com/johnireland

i agree 100%... we MUST run

okay, i got all the justified referee complaints outta my system, now it's time to focus on game 3 and how we need to pick up the pace

too many times the boys slightly jogged up court into a stagnant half court set...there were even times when we got a rebound and numbers and still we slowed down.

what happened to our preseason plan to push the ball and find a shot in seven seconds, and if it ain't there, go into the triangle? it's time to stop playing like a dead east coast team and start playing like Lakers

do it, PJ! unleash the Lake Show

THE REFFEREES ARE SO ARROGANT, THEY DON'T EVEN TRY TO HIDE THE FACT THAT THEIR CHEATING ANYMORE.

ITS BECAUSE NO ONE IS GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. A FEW HARMLESS BLOGS HERE AND THERE BUT THAT WILL BE IT.

THIS IS SCANDALOUS

THIS IS UNNACEPTABLE

THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW

THIS IS ILLEGAL

I have to say I am watching these finals as an impartial fan to either team. And all I have to say is.....WOW!!!! THE NBA IS A JOKE!!!!!!

Did anyone see how the official reacted to Gasol at the end of the first half after the non-call? Pau swung his arms in disgust and the official flinched like he was scared. Possible guilty conscience? Anyone?

ANOTHER THING ABOUT THE REFS

THE PLAYERS SHOULD BE SAYING SOMETHING

WHO CARES IF THEY GET FINED, SHOW YOUR INDIGNATION, SHOW SOME FIRE, YOU WERE JUST SCREWED AND THE BEST YOU CAN SAY IS
NO COMMENT.
GEEZ BRING BACK THE KOBE AND THE LAKERS THAT COMPLAINED ON EVERY FOUL OR NON-CALL

IF THINGS DON'T CHANGE THE NEXT 3 GAMES
CHALLENGE THE REFS, THROW THE BALL AT THE REF (LUKE ONLY) ANYTHING.
iF YOUR RIGHTS TO A FAIR FIGHT ARE IMPEDED. EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO PROTEST.

LAKER FANS BECOME LIKE UTAH FANS AT LEAST THEY'RE NOT AFRAID TO BE CONFRONTATIONAL

I see all the Laker fans are quick to blame the refs for the loss and agree with Michael Wilbon who never played the game professionally. However Jon Barry simply states that the Lakers would get more free throws if they were more aggressive taking the ball to the hoop; I subscribe to this theory from a former NBA player who has more understanding of the nuance of the game than some casual fans. Quit taking jumpshots and take the ball strong to the hole.

So when Absolute Truth posted this, “Pay attention. These 3 guys, especially Crawford, have ref'd some pretty suspicious games in these playoffs. Pay attention. These 3 guys, especially Crawford, have ref'd some pretty suspicious games in these playoffs.”, I think he should be correctly informed.

I find it funny that people are crying about the free throw disparity. These same people weren’t crying when the Lakers had a 43-16 free throw advantage in Game 2 vs the Jazz this playoff. Also sorry to inform you but the same referee, Dan Crawford, officiated that game as well so don’t tell me that he’s biased against the Lakers.

This is tough and sad watching this ball game. This is 2 game in a row lakers got beaten by official. I understand home court adv., but this is more than that !! This is a completely rip off.

Our player got pushed from behind for rebounding, our player got hit while attacking the rim, our player got bump off from screen & row, we dont got a SINGLE CALL. On the other hand, Celtic granded a lot of LIGHT TOUCHING call from us.. Thanks for the official, now I know the new basketball rule.

I don't believe the NBA try to fix the game until today. They try to make it as long series as possible for their pocket (money on advertising), but you guys so obvious, so ugly.

Laker fans are just like Ko-crybaby; a bunch of sour grape, spilled milk, wah wah CRYBABIES.

Let's go C's!

I'm going out on a limb and saying the Lakers will win the next 3 games. Why? For these 10 reasons:

...5. Kobe can't keep having bad games.

================================

Troy, KOBE did have a fabulous game today... 11-23 shooting, 30 points, 8 assist... carrying the lakers" come back... hardly a bad game... it was beautiful to see... the officiating was just not on equal footing... must be the home court advantage... But I am very positive that our team has now started to figure out the Celtics defense... you saw it in the fourth quarter....

Come game 3... we will definitely beat them...

But the point is... Kobe did have a beautiful game.... controlled game...

vlyumc

Please cry to your mommy. Any more excuses.

Lakers lost and that's the TRUTH.

Don't blame the officials, blame your team.

Did you all see the Cheap Mamba try and wannabe-Jordan the game? Cheap flea market knockoff. Paul Pierce was da King of Kings.

Inglehood in the house.

Please rename LA from the "City of Angles" to "City of Crybabies"

Whah whah, blame the refs.

What's up with that? Please take ownership of your team. You know why there's a foul differential?

Kobe the Crybaby taking WAY TOO MANY fadaway jumpshots. How do you expect to get fouled shooting fadaway jumpshots? YEAH DON'T.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, I am unbiased too. I am (or was) an NBA fan. I don't think the refs are impartial to the Lakers, but I do think they have an agenda to make this series competitive. Everyone that follows the NBA can see that the league wanted a Lakers/Celtics final from about the midseason on. So yeah, the Lakers did get some questionable calls in the Utah series. As did Boston in all of their series. I am not a fan of either team, but I can clearly see that the Lakers are the better team and under normal circumstances, this series would be over quickly. This is the NBA's dream matchup and they want to extend this series as long as possible. So look for more one sided calls the next 3 games in the Laker's favor because, of course, this series HAS to go seven games.

WAVEBUSTER

Lakers and Kobe are jokes. That's the down low.

I thought Kobe was suppose to be the next Jordan?

Wannabe just like the rest.

I hereby nominate The Truth as Finals MVP. Kobe get's co-honors for jacking up bad shot after bad shot just like in 2004.

dice8up

So King of Mamba final realized that you need teammates to win?

Hell, it's only the NBA Finals.

Phil Jackson has the Celtics exactly where he wants them to be. Of course, I bet his plan was to win game 2 but the zebras kinda ruined the plan tonight.

But look at that comeback by the Lakers. Is there any other NBA team that has been so good at consistently coming back from huge deficits as the Lakers? None.

And that's due to PJ's coaching style. Read Adande's article on PJ on espn's site. PJ's style of "non-coaching" the Zen way - letting players figure it out themselves, staying cool as a cucumber no matter the deficit and how badly refs are calling it - that's the PJ style.

And that is exactly why the Lakers never say die no matter how much they're behind. So right now, the Lakers are in an 0-2 hole behind the Celts. But you can bet the players are mad as hell about the officiating. They will come out for game 3 in LA with a ferocity and aggression that we've never seen from this team before.
And that's something that Odom and Gasol need. They're nice guys at heart and they need a reason to fight. The bench will be more confident in LA remembering how the Lakers won the 4th quarter in Boston by 16 points.

At the same time, the Celts just crumbled in front of their home fans and they know they won a close one just bec. of the officiating. Now, all the doubts about them are coming back to haunt them. Kevin Garnett - the anti-clutch player. Rivers not knowing what to do under pressure. Allen disappearing. Rondo showing his inexperience.

The Lakers are behind 0-2 in a seven game series and its going back to LA. Phil Jackson has the Celtics exactly where he wants them.

PLEASE LA FANS... STOP THE OFFICIATING ASSAULT!

THE REFS DID WHAT THEY HAVE TO DO... THIS IS WHAT WE CALL HOME COURT ADVANTAGE... WE DID OK IN BOSTON... THEY DIDN'T THUMP THIER HAND ON US... WE DIDN'T GOT BEAT... THE TEAM FOUGHT WELL TO DO END... THAT'S A GREAT SIGN OF TEAM MATURITY...

NOW LET THE TEAM TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS COME TUESDAY... AND BEAT THIS TEAM CALLED THE "CELTICS"... THAT'S THE WAY TO BE A FAN... NOT SOME KIND OF LAME EXCUSES!

EVERYBODY! KEEP YOUR HEADS UP! YOU ARE LA LAKERS FANS... NOT SOME KIND LEPRECHAUNS...

GO LAKERS!
GO KOBE!

A GUY SHOOTING 50% AND YOU CALL THAT JACKING SHOTS AFTER SHOTS? WHAT GAME WHERE YOU WATCHING?

AND WHO DO YOU CALL CRY BABY... DID YOU EVER WATCH THE GAME WHO WERE THE PLAYERS WHO COMPLAINED FOR EVERY CALLS... LAST TIME I CHECKED IT WAS YOUR CELTICS PLAYERS AND DOC RIVERS WHO WERE SHOUTING AND COMPLAINING...

BEFORE YOU EVER POINT YOUR WAY TO ME... CHECK YOURSELF... IF YOU GOT YOURS COVERED... OK?

SO ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS GET THE BALL DOWN LOW AND GO TO THE BASKET AGRESSIVELY AND GET THE FOULS

THATS ALWAYS THE LINE THATS USED IN THESE SITUATIONS.

POWE'S JOB WAS TO POST UP AND GO TO THE BASKET BECAUSE IT DIDN'T MATTER HE KNEW THE WHISTLE WOULD BLOW

WHEN ANY LAKER TRIED THIS ... RESULT ...NO FOUL
SO THIS GIVES BOSTON ANOTHER POSESSION AND A REASON FOR THE LAKERS TO NOT CONTINUE THIS STRATEGY.

BOSTON WAS REWARDED EVERY TIME
LAKERS WERE NOT

Stop whining about how the game is called. I mean, how many series are there in NBA playoff history where the fans actually thought the game was called fairly? Probably not too many. If you don't like it, then stop watching, plain and simple, because it ain't gonna change. It's called home court advantage, and it's also called being aggressive and taking it to the hole. Lakers played tentatively tonight (and in game 1) and avoided driving into the lane like it was the plague. Refs aren't going to hand you those calls, you know. Unless you guys are alleging that there's another Tim Donaghy scandal brewing here, I would shut up.

Lakers and Kobe are jokes. That's the down low.

YOU SAID IT YOURSELF... OUR PLAYERS ARE A JOKE... AND YET YOU CAN'T PUT OUR TEAM AWAY... YOU GOT 3 ALLSTARS.. MAKE IT 4... AND WE GOT KOBE AND PAU...

THE REASON WHY PAUL PIERCE IS HAVING AN EXCELLENT GAME IS THAT... YOU GOT EXCELLENT PLAYERS IN GARNET AND ALLEN... THAT MAKES IT EASIER FOR HIM TO PLAY HIS POSITION...

NEVERTHELESS... YOU COULDN'T PUT AWAY A TEAM OF LESSER TALENT THAN YOURS.. WHAT DO YOU MAKE OF THAT?

WAIT UNTIL YOU WIN SOMETHING.. THEN COME AND BRAG YOURSELF ALL YOU WANT... BUT UNTIL THEN... YOUR TEAM IS JUST ANOTHER WANNA BE TEAM... LIKE THE SUNS...

BE AFRAID... BE VERY AFRAID MY FRIEND...

THE REASON WHY YOU HATE KOBE LIKE THAT IS THAT YOU ARE AFRAID OF HIM RIPPING YOUR HEART OUT... AND YOU NOW IT... HE CAN BEAT YOUR 3 LEPRECHAUNS HIMSELF...

LEPRECHAUNS up 2-0.

Keep your head up when David Stean announced Paul "The Truth" Pierce Finals MVP.

Paul Pierce Finals MVP!

Paul Pierce Finals MVP!

Paul Pierce Finals MVP!

Paul Pierce Finals MVP!

LA Fans, don't forget the cheer of Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday everytime the name of Pierce is called, just cheer:

P A U L A P A U L A P A U L A

it should be done in unison that sound similar to Darryl, Darryl, Darryl by dragging the last letter "A"

"A" stands fro being A congenital liar on Game 1 and A big flopper in Game 2. From the interview, he is expecting that he will not be well received in his hometown.

AND AFTER GAME 2 we ask:

Why is LUKE WALTON allowed on the court???

This team is young, so, why are we playing an older team at a slow pace???

Why doesnt this team press full court from the opening tip???

Has anyone noticed how hard kg/ray allen/paul pierce are breathing late in the game??? fatigue??? and what if we raised the tempo???

The lineup of KOBE/SASHA/RAD/FISHER/GASOL is the LAKERS attack lineup, sooooooooo, why does PHIL ONLY use this lineup when the team is 20 or more points behind??? (remember game 1 spurs; same lineup except farmar was in for fisher).

Again, somebody, anybody, tell me why LUKE WALTON gets on the court???

Did POWE "spend all his loose change" tonight???

As for officiating, yeah, it was horrible, however, champions find a way to win; the LAKERS must find that way... bottom line, this season, BOSTON 4, LAKERS 0... one game at a time... the 1st thing the LAKERS "MUST DO" is win game 3... NOTHING ELSE MATTERS!!!

"Jon Barry simply states that the Lakers would get more free throws if they were more aggressive taking the ball to the hoop"

How? Barry teach us how? We got call against us when we play tough, We got NO CALL everytime attack the rim.

Any idea Barry? I am sure Jerry buss love to hire you as our new coach !!

Folks! Let's be realistic about the "so called" Laker comeback. The Celts decided, with 8 minutes left and up 24 points, that the game was OVER! It's a good lesson for the Celts. In game 3 they'll remember that the game is played for 48 minutes, regardless of the score. Kobe said , after the game, that the Lakers learned something useful from those last 8 minutes. Ya. The Lakers learned that the Celts learned that the game is played for 48 minutes, not 40. Personally, I think that the best play of the entire game was Leon Powe, a 6'8", 240lb. power forward/center, dribbling from his own baseline, down the middle of the entire court, past 5 Laker players and slam-dunking the ball. Uncontested! That was a beaut!! The 5 Lakers, all with their hands on their hips, looked as if they were judging a slam-dunk contest and were trying to decide if they should hold up 9 fingers or 10! I gave it a 12 myself on initiative alone. Powe must be fairly astute and apparently took the tact that, if these 5 guys don't want to play basketball, I do! And he did!!! I blame that Laker lapse on the officials!

LakerinBC, You've almost got it, but not quite. It's not 0-2, PJ has them exactly where he wants them. It's Manny has worked the pitcher into an 0-2 corner!

How about #26. Delaney? Wasn't the the "former" mafia informant? Seems awfully strange this guy is able to put wiseguys in jail and not have a care in the world about mafia retaliation.

Of course, he wouldn't need to worry about the mafia it he were buying their protection via his helping them with some, um...business transactions in the sports field, shall I say.

haha thats what I always thought. Isnt the informant just as bad, just the guy who gets everyone else? i mean sure he was undercover, but nobody can pretend to the live to the point of perfection without being caught up. Im not saying hes fixing the games, but I dont understand how he cannot have a fear in the world when he put away dozens of mobsters.

Late now gtg to bed and take kids to school tomorrow. But I will have alot to say then.

the game was freakin' fixed....

you lakers fans are absolutly ridiculous.
your actually all just venting your feelings on some stupid web page.
i mean, i went to bed early last night and missed the second half, so i google celtics vs lakers, game 2.
and come across this page, and find out the celts won, AGAIN.
you los angeles people are jealous we're up 2 games!
that's all it comes down to, and there's nothing else.
THE CELTICS ARE A BETTER FUCKING TEAM THAN THE LAKERS, GET OVER IT.
sorry, california, boston's coming through.

and we will win the title, so you can stop blogging about how you hate us and how piece faked his injury and how kg is a pussy.

your pathetic, your making fun of a team just to make yourself feel better, oh good one.

GOOO CELTICSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow...all the talk of the game is fixed. Did everyone happen to watch the game last nite. Why don't you fix on the fact that your team is:--------

A jump shooting softer team (you want fouls...go to the hole)------

Weaker in the bench. Celtics bench has experience and played two game 7's in contested series. And a tough series against Detroit (winning two on the road btw). Your bench consists of young wide eyed college kids who have not experienced any pressure.-----

Overrated. How could a Lakers team that won 10 less games than the Celtics be so overwhelmingly favored against a team that they haven't beaten this season. Last I checked 66 wins means something.--------

Play in an overrated West Conference. There has been a shift in balance to the East. West was strong but that was 2 plus years ago. San Antonio barely made the playoffs. Denver??? Dallas?? Comeon. Atlanta would have given any of those teams a run. Never mind Cleveland or Detroit. East has been stronger this year.------

Soft: No strong rebounder to get the Off rebound and second shots that demoralize a team after a strong defensive series. Celtics have feasted and are stronger.-----

A weak defensive team. Enough said. Celtics have a dominant defense. Admit it....every time they clamped down the Lakers struggled. When they put the hammer down Kobe forces and everyone else panics.------

Playing against a team that smells blood. Celtics feared noone and took it personally that most of the media are Laker lovers and gave the Celtics no respect.------

Not playing with heart and intensity. Last play of the game. Missed 3 point attempt LA....Posey grabs the ball as if his life depended on it and Ray Allen was diving. No comparison-------

Playing agains Paul Pierce who saves his best for the Lakers. Who can stop him. If Bryant tries to his offense suffers. --------

Face it that you are all afraid of this Big Strong Mean Celtics Team. Reminds me of the 82 series when the Lakers looked like they were going to run the Celtics off the floor. Then things got physical and the Lakers wilted in the end. No disrespect but this team doesn't compare to those 80's lakers. ------- Also...I enjoy Magic's commentary. He knows what's going on and he knows the Lakers are in big trouble. -------

And yes...Lakers fans were on Celtics and Boston Media blogs before the series...predicting sweeps and talking about the Celtics being overrated. But for some strange reason that has died down. HMMMMM!!!!

GO CELTICS!!! Would love to see a sweep. SORRY LA...Your biggest fan has become the DESTROYER....THE TRUTH IS COMING. Paul Pierce gets 35+ in game 3.

I still thinks that the Lakers can come back

waaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!! nooooooooo!!! you can do it lakers!
go!!!! <3

kobe's pissed:)

It's amazing the Lakers held on. I miss the Lakers of old, a team with class - NOT a team headed by a known RAPIST.

Hopefully they can win the next one at home.

DAMN CELTICS WON THATS RIGHT
