In case you hadn't heard, it's Lakers-Celtics

June 1, 2008 | 10:11 am

Which, in case you haven't heard, is a matchup capable of invoking the proverbial trip down Memory Lane, a voyage that doesn't even require any actual walking or driving, just a basic cable subscription.  The pairing of these particular teams is also bar trivia fodder for the ages.  Hell, it's even got nickname bragging right implications, once you break it down to the nittiest of gritties.  Of course, what's truly amazing about the power of this specific showdown is how much adrenaline it manages to provoke, even when, to be perfectly honest, these Finals are more the beginning of a brand new, totally separate chapter than the continuation of a true rivalry.  But as long as it still means something to somebody, your average red-blooded NBA fan is likely to be all geeked for Thursday to finally arrive.

If you're a numbers cat, you'll dig this here postseason analysis.

It remains to be seen whether the Lakers retired Robert Horry when they retired the Spurs.

Refs to the Commish: Stay classy, Dave.

Mamba,

Thanks for the More Frequent Blog Post bandwagon. Can you please change the name to More Frequent UPDATES bandwagon. The goal here is to give the Kambros some evidence to take to the Times to get more frequent updates so that comments appear quicker, especially once the Finals start. Thanks, Larry.

if you lump the C's Bug Three together....Kobe, the wan will just dunk the ball in their face!"
THAT'S WHAT I'M TALLING ABOUT!!

Mamba,

Ignore my last request. Damn, I need to wake up or get some new glasses. Missed the Updates on the second line. LOL. Shame on me for trying to correct the maestro.

Please add me to the 80-2 bandwagon (can't have the director of GHF not riding, lol) and the Punch the Big Ticket Bandwagon (Down with Stripe the Gremlin). Thanks.

Tom

Jon,

Great Out-There Lakers quotes. My GHF co-pilot and wing man. Jon, you gotta get some vacation time from Cleveland and go to LA for the parade. I am going to come down for NorCal to stand tall with the rest of the Lakers Blog. You are needed. Gather your frequent flier miles, draw down on your 401(k), or borrow from the nearest 7-11, but somehow get your ass there. This will be the greatest Laker championship ever.

Our only regret will be that we didn’t get a chance to also put the Suns and Shaq out of their misery instead of hopeless Denver. But taking out the Jazz, Spurs, and Celtics will be sweet enough. It is wonderful to be a Lakers fan watching this wondrous season.

Tom

Mamba,

Way to take it to Shalomar. Lakers have a 3-2 home court advantage in this series because it won't ever get back to Boston. LOL.

Tom

Mamba,

Please please add me to the Jon K kicks ass bandwagon.

Tom

Mamba,

Mike T just emailed me and wants to replace ex as the bouncer at Xodus' wedding. Ex's calves are just too slim and veined. He won't get any respect. LOL.

Mike suggests that ex host Karl's bachelor party instead, where he will only have to deal with the ladies. I promised to forward the request but maybe this is a decision to be made by Xodus.

LakerTom, tell Mike T that he has no balls to post in this blog. I think he is a woman, so infatuated and in love with Kwame. Mike Teniente should be the Flower Lady not a bouncer at Xodus nuptials.

Laker Tom:"Ex's calves are just too slim and veined. He won't get any respect."

ROFLMAO!!! LOL!

LakerTom,
"ex host Karl's bachelor party instead, where he will only have to deal with the ladies."

Let me run that one past my wife.

On second thought, better not ...

LakerTom,

God willing I'll be able to come out for the parade. I've got to fly out to Los Angeles for business purposes, but that's been up in the air for a while now.

It sure would be great if it happened parade time.

The whole blogmunity will have to congregate together for the celebration!

GO LAKERS!

Does anyone know where to buy "Boston Sucks" t-shirts in Los Angeles?

Damn got a lot of LA fans on this site but no one seems to be talking anymore huh??? You LA fans suck! Celtics ALL DAY! BEAT LA!! BEAT LA!!! BEAT LA!!!
