Game Thread - Lakers vs. Jazz, Game 4

Pressure is still on Utah, who can't afford to go down 3-1. Fewer TOs and more made jumpers and the Lakers can steal one in Salt Lake. A heartier constitution displayed by Pau Gasol won't hurt, either.
BK

We better influence the next game on the refs just like these fans got to the refs.

Freakin' Luke Walton.......so slow so unathletic
I really hope he can pick it up..........since Phil insists on going with this guy.
Posted by: pfunk36 | May 11, 2008 at 02:51 PM
I agree...that should've been a foul call on Price...total body slam from behind.
Posted by: Janet | May 11, 2008 at 02:51 PM
Next game. Fisher Kobe Walton Odom Gasol
Vujacic Turiaf
Seven man rotation.

Seems like we are getting called for ticky tack fouls and the Jazz get away with about everything
Posted by: thehammer | May 11, 2008 at 02:53 PM
Luke got stuffed by a concussed one eyed player who's much shorter than him. This team is showing it's immaturity in the Playoffs on the road, it's to be expected but it's still painful to watch them give away 2 games they easily could have won. Kobe's hurt, Turiaf, our best shotblocker is out and Farmar and Luke look less than inspired."Over the back/Looseball foul " call is the most unevenly called foul in the NBA. If you're two big guys going for it, the guy behind gets called for the foul of the big guy in front unless your Duncan.

The manner in which Luke Walton makes mistakes is infuriating. Everyone misses shots, everyone loses the ball, but no one misses shots and loses the ball in such easy situations as Walton.

Smell it, Smell it.............Now take it!

I think Lakers are going to lose the series. The Jazz have exposed the Lakers lack of physicallity. Phil is not going to adjust
Posted by: Tom | May 11, 2008 at 02:54 PM
game over.
Kobe's definitely hurt and is chukking 3s.
Posted by: LakerinBC | May 11, 2008 at 02:54 PM
Oh MY GOD!! They called a foul on UTAH in this period! What's that 2 team fouls for them 20 for LA????
Posted by: jhnlannery1 | May 11, 2008 at 02:55 PM
the thing i really hate about today's game is having to listen to Hubie Brown root for the Jazz....

Gimmie an F! --- F!!
Gimmie an i! --- i!
Gimmie an X! -- X!!
Gimmie an E! -- E!
Gimmie a D! -- D!!
Whatsat Spell?
FIXED
Refs so obviously overwhelmed by the crowd, making horrible calls left and right to help the halpless Jazz, who even with TONS of help from the refs, still can't put the Lakers away.
Posted by: WWJWWD | May 11, 2008 at 02:55 PM
KOBE NEEDS TO STOP SHOOTING ALL THOSE 3SSSS!!!
Posted by: Gunner | May 11, 2008 at 02:55 PM
Starting the 4th with the second unit cost us the game.
It turned a 4-pt lead into a 10-pt in a second.
After we got that far behind all we did was settle for jumpers and make turnovers.
Posted by: Allan - Brazil | May 11, 2008 at 02:55 PM
Gasol really sucks on defense. OMG. Is he frustrating today.
Posted by: johnny | May 11, 2008 at 02:55 PM
Fish is assasin !!!
Posted by: playa | May 11, 2008 at 02:56 PM
Thank you, Okur. Keep up the good work. More T's for the Jazz!
Posted by: Janet | May 11, 2008 at 02:56 PM
The Lakers finally act like they want to win with 3 mins to go. Looking a bit too little too late guys.

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

Odom spells Doom for the Jazz!

Tech for okur?? The ref saw him in purple?? no way he call that for a jazz
Posted by: HugoSpain "horse whisperer???" | May 11, 2008 at 02:57 PM
How do these players think it's not a foul when the replay shows them whacking the opponent? Just because you get a little bit of the ball doesn't mean you can hit the guy's arm.
Posted by: Amazing_Happens | May 11, 2008 at 02:57 PM
Everybody watch the game with no volume... We can believe together. JUST TURN OFF THE VOLUME AND BELIEVE. I'LL DO THE REST WIHT MY MIND... WE WILL WIN IF WE ALL DO THIS NOW.

It's over for you Lakers fans. Kobe will not play game 5 cos he's hurtin. The series is over. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha,
Posted by: jake | May 11, 2008 at 02:58 PM
The Jazz are a bunch of fouling punks like their coach. We are coming away empty on too many offensive possessions. We have to play smart.

AK...llisten to the pulse of the blog, make the postgame title "Fixed"
Thanks.

we need somebody else who can help with the ofense.
i have no faith in vlad and farmar

WE HAVE A USELESS BENCH!!! 4th in NBA? COME ON!!!
Posted by: LAL_Fan | May 11, 2008 at 02:59 PM
Minus their 2 best defenders, the Lakers D looks like Swiss Cheese..way too easy to score on and Utah is abusing them..Rad in particular but Gasol is a non entity for a big man.
Rebounding and D..2 missing elements that put this Lakers team into also ran territory. With Kobe hurting, Utah in 7 games. They can't handle the physical (and precise offensive sets) nature of this Jazz team.
Next year folks..the start of a championship run that will knock your eyes out. Wtih ARiza and Bynum back.A totally different team.
Posted by: Rob D | May 11, 2008 at 02:59 PM
Finish these final minutes strong!!! Go Lakers!!!

With no volume we transmit a clear mind.
Posted by: johnny | May 11, 2008 at 03:00 PM
The reason Mehmet Okur got the T?
The cheat'n refs have allowed him-and his teamates-to play football all day.
Yet on that call, the cheat'n ref-for reason beyon me-made the correct call.
It's as if Mehmet punch to the air meant, "you have allowed us to cheat all day; why make a correct call now?"
The NBA: where bogus calls-thrown in finally a good call-happens.

FISHER!!!! THREE!!!
Posted by: HugoSpain "horse whisperer???" | May 11, 2008 at 03:00 PM
Oh Jesus...that was a blocking foul?
Posted by: | May 11, 2008 at 03:01 PM
Offensive foul on Willia...
waiddaminute, gotta see what the crowd thinks....
Blocking!
Posted by: WWJWWD | May 11, 2008 at 03:01 PM
Kobe needs to be a playmaker for the rest of the game so the Lakers can finish the game on a good note. Utah is going to play this way consistently but how are the lakers going to play once they get back home. They better get it figured out quick or else they will be home for the summer and the Hornets will win the title that the lakers were supposed to win this year.....
Posted by: 70'slakerfan | May 11, 2008 at 03:01 PM
3 straight assists by Kobe , 3 straight 3 s by Fish niiice
Posted by: playa | May 11, 2008 at 03:01 PM
How on earth is that a blocking foul on Kobe?! Ronnie should have thrown Deron Williams through the floor.
Posted by: Josh | May 11, 2008 at 03:02 PM
D Fish's play late in the 4th quarter exposes why bogus early foul calls took him-and the Lakers-out of these 2 road games.
The NBA: were do not allow D Fish to play defense and hit the 3 happens.
Posted by: passionate Lakers fan | May 11, 2008 at 03:02 PM
Dudes, Gasol gets NO love!!
GO LAKERS!!
Posted by: Happy Camper | May 11, 2008 at 03:02 PM
Utah's slowfooted "Just fould don't play defense at all" game plan is working for the Jazz AGAIN!!! Laker's do need to wise up!
Posted by: jhnlannery1 | May 11, 2008 at 03:03 PM
LAKER NATION!
FOCUS!
GO LAKERS!
Posted by: Jon K. | May 11, 2008 at 03:03 PM
Deron gets away with a serious charge. Refs are full of it in this game. Kobe needs to stop shooting threes and attack the hoop. There you go Kobe, just like that!!!
Posted by: Nemaia Faletogo | May 11, 2008 at 03:03 PM
kobe's still alive, good to see it
Posted by: playa | May 11, 2008 at 03:04 PM

Posted by: Johnny | May 11, 2008 at 03:05 PM
Down by 3 with 1 minute left, Kobe, do not try to be a hero, keep passing the ball, you are not making shots right now....Get a team mate a shot...
