Game Thread - Lakers vs. Jazz, Game 4

Pressure is still on Utah, who can't afford to go down 3-1. Fewer TOs and more made jumpers and the Lakers can steal one in Salt Lake. A heartier constitution displayed by Pau Gasol won't hurt, either.

What was Fisher thinking? He knows how important it is that he stays on the floor.
Posted by: Rick Friedman | May 11, 2008 at 12:40 PM
Farmar:
Williams burns him twice for two layups (4 pts)
Fails to balance the court and Williams leaks out for a layup. (2 pts)
Misses a three.

Posted by: Zin Master | May 11, 2008 at 12:43 PM
Freakin layups. What is wrong with you!
Posted by: Faith | May 11, 2008 at 12:44 PM
FARMAR SUCKS.
Gave up 3 layups to Williams already. Fails to get back on defense. Can't manage the clock and takes an ill-advised three after an offensive rebound. Misses a layup.
Posted by: Tom | May 11, 2008 at 12:44 PM
Deja vu? Fish 2 fouls immediately. Vlad missing. Geez, let's learn the lesson guys. Our Team, Our MVP, Our Championship.
Go go go Lakers!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Lakergurl | May 11, 2008 at 12:44 PM
Go Lakers!!
Posted by: THE original Ken | May 11, 2008 at 12:44 PM
Farmar is going to need a ticket out of town after this series...
This is pitiful.
Posted by: Korey | May 11, 2008 at 12:44 PM
Lakers seem to be starting out flat-- the ol' starting out slow finishing strong game again...... thank God we have a different announcing crew on TV... the radio has a delay so I can't listen.... GO LAKERS!
Posted by: JAIMSYY | May 11, 2008 at 12:44 PM
And please don't tell me we don't need Bynum or we can trade him.
Posted by: LAL_Fan | May 11, 2008 at 12:45 PM
links anyone
Posted by: ankit | May 11, 2008 at 12:45 PM
FARMAR SUCKS. Please Phil bring in Turiaf. Move Lamar to Point to bring up the ball and put his length on Williams. Farmar is worthless right now. Absolutely worthless.

Lakers look rattled!
Posted by: shneurson | May 11, 2008 at 12:46 PM
Just sit Farmar. Please. He is looking like Smush Parker out there. Please. I thought we got rid of Parker this offseason but a new one has appeared in the playoffs in Farmar.
Posted by: Tom | May 11, 2008 at 12:46 PM
guys,
i need another link. im watching the memo channel in sopcast. probably it's turkish. i don't understand a word. please link.

Phil Is the worst F___ing coach. Call a time- out and when Fish is foul trouble use someone else other then no D Famar!!!
Posted by: Killereight | May 11, 2008 at 12:47 PM
Jazz obviously came out with a lot of energy and just continued the exact same gameplan from last game. No discernable adjustments from the Lakers. Maybe losing a close one didn't get their attention enough and they're going to have to get their asses handed to them in order to wake up.
Posted by: lakers_sth | May 11, 2008 at 12:47 PM
I wouldn't want to be Phil right now. If he benches Farmar, he destroys what little confidence Jordan has left. If he leaves him in, the Lakers fall deeper into the hole. Tough decision.
Posted by: Rick Friedman | May 11, 2008 at 12:48 PM
I'd like to see Mbenga get some minutes today... I think we need his
toughness. Gotta make some adjustments.
Posted by: Bzar | May 11, 2008 at 12:48 PM
Vlad broke his shoulder in Utah last year did'nt he?
Posted by: chuck23 | May 11, 2008 at 12:48 PM
we can't count on farmar , phill need to realize that
Posted by: VINNY | May 11, 2008 at 12:49 PM
Chuck23,
He separated the shoulder in Utah, yes. Park City, I believe.

SIT DOWN FARMAR. THAt is a chrage! Revoloving door of defense. Bailed out. TAKE HIM OUT. MOVE LAMAR TO POINT.

Farmar is just hella dumb...
GET BACK ON D!!!!
STOP THE BALL EARLY!!!
If you let a guy bigger than you get a running start, there's no stopping him. Get up and play D early, make him change directions.
YOU ARE NOT GETTING OFF. REBOUNDS!
DUMB FARMAR! DUMB!
Posted by: Korey | May 11, 2008 at 12:53 PM
I love the way Walton is playing right now. I don't care if he misses all his shots today and I would still be happy with his play because he is the only Laker who is stepping up to the Jazz's toughness right now.
Posted by: Tom | May 11, 2008 at 12:54 PM
It's a long game. If they can survive the opening push, it'll still be a game. They have to stop ball quicker in transition, though, or even better, slow the game down to limit the run outs. They're doing a better job of getting the ball low and not launching jumpers.

Great minds, and all. haha
Posted by: Happy Camper | May 11, 2008 at 12:54 PM
I love what Gasol is doing...
Thats how you come back from a bad game!!!
something wrong with farmars head
Posted by: shneurson | May 11, 2008 at 12:55 PM
On the road, for the playoffs Walton needs to start.
Vlad is too damn flaky.
Posted by: Korey | May 11, 2008 at 12:55 PM
I understand the home team will get the majority of favorable calls..but when kobe drives in and 3 players colapse..then on the other end Boozer drives to the hole and Pau just stands there with his hands up and get called for a fouls I guess all I can say is oh well...lets play 5 against 8..bring it on..we can handle that
Posted by: lakeraholic | May 11, 2008 at 12:55 PM
We're only down four... no time to panic, people.
Posted by: Bzar | May 11, 2008 at 12:56 PM
Lakers need to continue to be patient and move ball to open man.
Posted by: chuck23 | May 11, 2008 at 12:56 PM
Lakers are set on every position next year EXCEPt backup point guard. Farmar needs to go. Lakers need a stronger mentally strong point guard who doesn't slouch every time he makes a mistake.
Posted by: Tom | May 11, 2008 at 12:58 PM
Our defense blows chunks. It doesn't help that we have to help Jordan all the time. Ugh.
Posted by: Faith | May 11, 2008 at 01:01 PM
I think Kobe may be hurt? He is moving gingerly
Posted by: | May 11, 2008 at 01:01 PM
DOES FARMAR CHALLENGE ANY SHOT. LAST TWO SHOTS FOR JAZZ FARMAR WAS RIGHT THERE BUT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING.
Posted by: Tom | May 11, 2008 at 01:01 PM
Stupid Lakers. We are going to loose today.
Posted by: Sunny | May 11, 2008 at 01:02 PM
Still too early to panic. Starters need to stay out of foul trouble for Lakers to get back in it.
