Game Thread - Lakers at Spurs, Game 4

May 27, 2008 |  5:59 pm

Could this be the night DJ Mbenga explodes for 68 points to become a Purple and Gold playoff legend?  You won't know unless you watch.

Many of you have joined the blog lately when Lakers are winning. A lot of names here, have been with us during ups and downs since time immemorial. It is just but natural to throw tantrum when they don't get what they preferred. Well, after the game, got to admit we did not play well too but we won partly because of Utzworld prayer, we are lucky in the end.

Greatest confidence builder is that we have no more Kwame, no more Smush, no more Cookie and we're deep, deep, deep of Western Conference Finals. Who would have written this script? Not Mehman and Jack Nicholson said, "we just can't handle the truth."

So what is the time now? Time to unite as ONE. Keep those emotions checked against a fellow Laker fan, you have only one goal that's Championship but all of us have different versions on the way there. Now that we won - bury those hatchets, swallow your pride, forget those faults, maintain a little class like our worthy opponents, Popovich and just move on.

Don't forget the Mamba24 cheer this morning:

THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN EVER DEFEAT OR DIVIDE US IS "US" LAKERS TODAY, LAKERS TOMORROW, LAKERS FOREVER.

Let us unite as One. One Love, One Aspiration, just win five more games and we are almost there.

Did Barry travel before Fish fouled him?

Look closely... I think he changes his pivot foot!

Too many questionable calls and all the Laker haters will concentrate on that rather than the fact that the Spurs got outplayed all game.

"Accept that miraculous no call - enjoy the victory and move on . but defending as correct an obvious mistake that benefits your team, just makes you dishonest."

Barry dropped his should and ran into a player in the air off the dribble. He didnt shoot INTO the contact. 100% of the great players DRAW the contact by shooting into it. No player is EVER dumb enough to drop their shoulder and dribble into the contact. Why would the refs be compelled to make a call there? Even if they did, it is 100% gauranteed not in the act of shooting. I have seen the replay 50 times. Barry drops his shoulder, dribbles into Fish, then after all of the contact is clear, he sends up a prayer. If Lebron didn't get that call last year, Barry certainly doens't deserve it.

Even if he got it, it would be a 2 shot fall at most. Then if the spurs won, I would be wondering about the 24 second shot clock violation no call!

"I went back and found the comments, deleted them, and marked the poster as spam. Folks, if we catch you doing this sort of thing, we'll simply have your IP blocked from the site. It's disrespectful to other posters, and frankly, we have way more stuff to do with our time than babysit this sort of nonsense."

Way to keep the site clean AK/BK. This is one of the more professional sports blogs ever. I wish you guys had a report button so we could flag terrible comments as they arise to lighten your work load. Keep this blog the best in the NBA!

"But this was considerably more than what I just described. FIsh literally landed sideways on top of Barry's shoulders."

Actually Fish went STRAIGHT up and barry dropped his shoulder, took a dribble, settled under fisher, stopped, and ran into fisher. Paused again, then went up for the shot.

Again, if Barry didnt take a dribble and just simply absorbed the contact, I still would call a foul, but dribbling (shoulder down) straight into Fisher?!? That is the WORST way you can play that. Who in the league does that? Do even rookies do such bone headed plays. Barry has a monster game, and barry is WAY more of a class act than PJ and kobe, but he doesn't play heads up basketball.

Again, I respect your opinion, but Barry didnt absorb contact and shoot into contact, he dribbled into it.

Walton need a kick in the azz...

And Kobe gave it to him...

Did you see that?

He yelled "Come onnn!" as they walked off the court.

Luke responded these first plays of the 2nd quarter.

That's what the eff I'm talking about.

Nothin personal, but we tryna win a championship here.

More Kobe coaching working again!!!
Give Kobe PJ's pay!

Oh, where the heck is JustaLakerFan or compton's finest?

PJ cant coach?

What about putting Odom on the baseline block and waiting for the double?

What about pressuring the ball whenever Parker is not in the game?

I know I know... You guys are sorry for saying PJ aint a good coach.

Korey,
Sorry I missed the game as I let my kids to their school projects on powerpoint etc. So I only watched last few minutes of game.

However I am reading the blog now to see what I missed and sure enough PJ still sucks and insists on using Walton over Ariza. Glad to see it is not just me and Comptons Finest as a lot of bloggers are saying the same thing.

Hang your head in shame for adoring false idols.

Hello All,

No more talk of NO CALLS... the refs clearly stay away from affecting the ooutcome of the game and let the players play good playoff endgame...

The last play is only called a foul during regular season... not in the playoffs.. How many times have we seen this... there was nothing irregular about the call or non call...

Bottom line... The better team won the ballgame.. not on a single play but the whole ball game... 48 minutes of good playoff basketball.

Lakers all the way!

I rarely post these days... but I always see to it that I read here...

I agree with Edwin Gueco... many have joined the blog since we started winning...

How many of us here stuck when we were losing... only a few.. infact.. those who stayed true and loyal were derided over and over again... Heck, even T.J.Simmers has become a Kobe fan...

but we stayed true as loyal Lakers fans...

Go Lakers!

Go Kobe!

THERE IS A REASON WHY THE FOUL WAS NOT CALLED..

ITS CALLED SPURS "KARMA". ITS BITING THEIR BUTT BACK FOR THE HIP CHECK ON NASH, BAD BACK CHECK ON WEST.

AND THATS WHY JOEY CRAWFORD WAS IN THERE.

Downloading Music and Movies

I currenlty am downloading via Bit Torrent p2p software, and I need some advice on proxys.

I get my internet via my university and apparently they are using special software to block p2p.

I've already found an alternative (non p2p way) to downloading music for free via Mooza.com - MP3 Search Engine. Mooza is great for downloading and playing music and videos, but unfortunately the site doesnt provide access to free games and software. My school doesnt block us from visiting or downloading from regular websites, rather only blocks p2p software.

Which brings me to my question...
Im trying to find websites that host games and software. I dont want any sites that require registration or rape my browser. Maybe something like a RapidShare.com Search Engine. I know that RapidShare hosts alot of games and software - but they dont provide a search engine.

Additional Question: I am currently using a Free HTTP Web Proxy Server and am wondering if this prevents my university from spying on my web activity.

Why do people pay for Music on Itunes?

It makes me wonder why people pay $1 for music on Itunes.com when they can get the same music for free on Mooza.com - Free MP3 Search Engine

Apple claims that Itunes has sold over 2 billion songs online. It simply makes no sense...!

Perhaps somebody here with a little more intelligence than I can answer that crazy riddle :)

Hello,

I'm newer here and stopping in to say hi.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Jaeric
