Boston couldn't win on the road earlier, nor New Orleans last night. Here's hoping third time is the proverbial charm.

Why does Walton systematically foul as soon as he gets into a game in the second half?
Posted by: Tsphere | May 16, 2008 at 09:33 PM
Stretch this to 20+ in the fourth and they will fold...

BocaLakerGurl AKA Kobe's Laker Gurl - chill baby!!! Pau is doing great - plus I have it on good authority that he's going to be hitting the gym really hard this summer so he can hang tougher next year! LOL!
Posted by: justanothermambafan | May 16, 2008 at 09:34 PM
Dammit Pau I love you but finish a dunk for once!!!!
Posted by: golakeshow | May 16, 2008 at 09:35 PM
Someone remember to put pau in the weight room with bynum this offseason PLEASE!
Posted by: bonez | May 16, 2008 at 09:35 PM
Mamba says "Thanks for playing Utah, you got 12 minutes left in your season"
Posted by: golakeshow | May 16, 2008 at 09:36 PM
DUDE THIS OFFICIALS ARE REAL MEN!!!
Posted by: flork | May 16, 2008 at 09:37 PM
Killer shot by Kobe to end quarter.. so far so good. I love that the JAZZ players are the ones now falling down on every contact and then throwing up there arms like "where's the call ref???" Shows the younger Lakers on this roster learned their lesson about waiting for the calls when they don't get them....
Posted by: jhnlannery | May 16, 2008 at 09:37 PM
This 4th quarter, I would keep in my guys... extend the lead to 22 and make the Jazz quit.
Posted by: Korey | May 16, 2008 at 09:37 PM
Pau,
Come on, you can't go up with weak stuff. Kobe could"ve had another assist.
Posted by: 70'slakerfan | May 16, 2008 at 09:37 PM
Luke Walton has got to get his act together real fast or he will find his azz deep on the bench!
Posted by: chuck23 | May 16, 2008 at 09:38 PM
KOBE: I'M SICK.. I DONT LIKE VEGGIES...
NOW ON KOBE= BACK SPASM, I DONT LIKE UTAH....
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...
GO LAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's nearly refrigerator time, Faith! And this time we're talking about a series, not just a game.
Posted by: Tsphere | May 16, 2008 at 09:38 PM
12 minutes till summer utah's summer vacation

Posted by: CBuck | May 16, 2008 at 09:38 PM

remember when kobe said that he met him in Barcelona at the gym?!

With the Lakers running on most (not quite all) cylinders, we can afford an aside. That Hubie Brown in annoying as all get-out. He knew "what the referees were thinking" on that Deron Williams desperation shot at the end of the 3rd quarter within 5 seconds of when they were thinking it! What I wouldn't give to be listening to that VanGundy-Jackson-Whoever trio of announcers.
Amazing how they're dwelling on the "officiating" aspect of this series suddenly...the Lakers were getting robbed the first four games, and now all of a sudden the reffing is questionable?! Gimme a break.
Posted by: onanoman | May 16, 2008 at 09:40 PM
Hold your breath if Phil starts the 4th quarter with the bench. Don't stay with the bench players too long if Utah starts to score. They will be desperate....
Posted by: 70'slakerfan | May 16, 2008 at 09:40 PM
Man not much TROLL action here tonight like game 5. Nothing could be better. Lakes double digit lead, fans of Utah crying, Jazz players flopping and no TROLLS yet in the blog.
Posted by: jhnlannery | May 16, 2008 at 09:40 PM
Second unit could either put this in the fridge or make it interesting. Why do I have a feeling they will make it interesting...
Posted by: golakeshow | May 16, 2008 at 09:41 PM
Ronny draws # 5 on Boozer - SWEEEET - wave bye bye baby!
Posted by: justanothermambafan | May 16, 2008 at 09:42 PM
So, if the Lakers hold the Jazz under 100, do any Laker fans at tonight's game get free tacos for their trip home?
(Or maybe a package of salt?)
Posted by: MiloRambaldi | May 16, 2008 at 09:42 PM
I love our bench mob but I want the starters in there to finish this one off earlier than usual. I know we're up double digits but this can turn in a hurry especially when the Jazz get extremely desperate in a couple minutes. All it takes is 3 or 4 threes and they are right back in it with the place erupting.
Posted by: golakeshow | May 16, 2008 at 09:42 PM
Man is it true Boozer was an all star once? Not seeing much of that in this series.
Posted by: jhnlannery | May 16, 2008 at 09:42 PM
GO LUKE!!!!
Posted by: JohnnyP | May 16, 2008 at 09:43 PM
Great non shot by Farmar.....

justanothermambafan
Ok I will chill...but only because I take your word for it! :-)
Posted by: BocaLakerGurl | May 16, 2008 at 09:43 PM
Wow... Sloan is going to leave Boozer in with 5 fouls?
He's really gambling.
Posted by: Bzar | May 16, 2008 at 09:43 PM
Sasha!!!!!! His game has expanded in a mindboggling fashion. The kid is fearless!!!
Posted by: golakeshow | May 16, 2008 at 09:44 PM
Argh! It's sooo frustrating when Turiaf makes a sweeeet block and it bounces right back to the opponent. That seems to always happen! Let's go 2nd Unit! Keep the lead!
Posted by: jsantos | May 16, 2008 at 09:44 PM
i wanna see The Machine throw it down then start popping his jersey while cursing the mormons in slovenian
Posted by: CBuck | May 16, 2008 at 09:44 PM
onanoman here's another aside: I'm just glad I don't have to listen to David Aldridge mumble and stumble his way thru any mid game and post game interviews and commentary tonight. He SUCKS.
Posted by: KimD | May 16, 2008 at 09:44 PM
Luke looks horrible again!
Posted by: chuck23 | May 16, 2008 at 09:45 PM
nice move Sa-Machineeeeeeeeee
Posted by: Zin Master | May 16, 2008 at 09:45 PM
BRING THE STARTERS NOW
Posted by: golakeshow | May 16, 2008 at 09:45 PM
Are we going totally second string??? Can we not let Pau or LO or Kobe to shoot? No more Luke turn arounds, practice is over. WE ARE HERE!!!
GOoooOOOO LAAAaaaKERS!!!
Posted by: JohnnyP | May 16, 2008 at 09:46 PM
Yeah, the bench is not really holding this together.
Posted by: KimD | May 16, 2008 at 09:46 PM
withstand this final utah run and we're leaving salt lake city as winners
send in the starters por favor
LET'S GO LAKE SHOW!
Posted by: CBuck | May 16, 2008 at 09:46 PM
Farmar once again offers NO resistance to williams. My gramma could have found Millsap for that dunk. GET FISH IN NOW.
Posted by: golakeshow | May 16, 2008 at 09:46 PM
Sasha has really improved his game.
You've got to respect that...
Posted by: Korey | May 16, 2008 at 09:47 PM
Farmar gives N 000000000000000 THING
Posted by: Zin Master | May 16, 2008 at 09:47 PM
Farmar and Luke are useless
Posted by: LAKER TRUTH | May 16, 2008 at 09:48 PM
These Utah fans are not only an embarrassment to basketball fans, but maybe even to the entire human race. What a bunch of whining pansy crybabies. They are b*tching and yelling for the most ridiculous calls. I guess nothing beats when Fisher got mobbed before the halftime buzzer, and they went psycho, apparently forgetting that you aren't allowed to assault another player, no matter how close to halftime it is. Cry me a river, SLC. Pathetic. To borrow a line from Tito Ortiz...let's punish them into the offseason.
Posted by: The Fan | May 16, 2008 at 09:48 PM
I am just trying to figure out why is it that PJ puts Luke, Farmar and Walton at the same time on the court!
Doesn't he know that those three together do not produce??
Posted by: Maxximo | May 16, 2008 at 09:48 PM
Good call GOLAKESHOW!!!!
Man Farmar and Walton are giving us absolutely NOTHING off the bench tonight. Farmar looks as tenative as ever, playing NOT to lose instead of relaxing and running the offense. Walton got a rebound taken away from him by the mighty and ultra strong Matt Harpring Didn't even look like Walton jumped for it just let Harpring bump him out of the way and snatched the rebound.. Heckuva dunk by whats his face on Utah though.. never thought he'd get it over Turiaf but he did.. Hopefully that's the extent of this run..
Posted by: jhnlannery | May 16, 2008 at 09:48 PM
Poor Ronny...He and Vlade will have a long flight home tonite...at least it will be with a win...They both got free facials tonite.
Posted by: BocaLakerGurl | May 16, 2008 at 09:49 PM
OK that's it. Starters please!!!
Posted by: KimD | May 16, 2008 at 09:49 PM
Fakkin Phil!!!!! Where is Fish????????
Posted by: golakeshow | May 16, 2008 at 09:49 PM
WILL SOMEONE BOX OUT MILLSAP!!!!
Posted by: jhnlannery | May 16, 2008 at 09:50 PM
I guess Coach Jackson wants to make this more interesting for us
Posted by: BocaLakerGurl | May 16, 2008 at 09:50 PM
Lakers should take it to Boozer every time down the floor. They'll have him on the pine within 2 minutes.
