Boston couldn't win on the road earlier, nor New Orleans last night. Here's hoping third time is the proverbial charm.

- Farmar is still weak.
- Lakers playing great D and O.
- Kobe's look fluid again... Problems for the Jazz in the 4th!
- For the team that is #1 in the league in fouls, the Jazz whine a whole lot.
DONT THESE GUYS KNOW THEIR REPUTATION FOR FOULING IS BECAUSE THEY ALWAYS FOUL!!!

Learn to play defense!

Pleased so far but the Jazz are threateining at the end of this half here.. need to end the quarter on a high note and keep the lead at 15 or more... If so the JAZZ expend more energy, play more desperate and frenetic trying to come back... Jazz game as we all know is basically Goon Ball, foul as much as possible and slow game down, try to keep themselves within 10 or less and then let Deron or someone else (is there anyone else that can on this team?) take over late 4th quarter.

i'm sure Stern would make
celtics-cavs
celtics-detroit
celtics-san-antonio
celtics-lakers
lakers-san antonio
lakers-detroit
lakers-cleveland
all in the same year, 7 games a searies, just to make money. unfortunately arrangements r not part of the rule

The Lakers need to start looking for a solid backup for DFish next year because Farmar lacks the fortitude to keep us ahead in the western conference.
We will also have to move Luke to front office so that Ariza and Ronny, and Sasha can remain Lakers and resign
Bynum. And if we have room bring Kwame back! haha

lakers fans
i feel very relaxed and confident.
mini vacation
Posted by: Zin Master | May 16, 2008 at 08:50 PM
The crowd is not happy. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of fans, in my opinion. They are probably being made very aware that there won't be any NBA basketball in Utah until next november.
Eat it, jerks.
IT IS REALLY ALL ABOUT THE LOVE, THOUGH.
Posted by: phred | May 16, 2008 at 08:50 PM
AWESOME first half! Let's finish strong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COLORADO LOVES THE LAKERS!
Posted by: Hugo Boss | May 16, 2008 at 08:51 PM

Sasha will be at the Sprint Store in Manhattan Beach TOMORROW (Saturday) from 2-3pm. I guess he is signing autographs and taking pictures. The store is located on Rosecrans (1590 Rosecrans Ave). I'm gonna check it out.

Excuse me.........what's tha.........
It took Boston FOUR QUARTERS to put up 69 points?????
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO Lakers !
Posted by: MiloRambaldi | May 16, 2008 at 08:52 PM
Wow, Jon Barry was saying before the start of the game that the Lakers were going to walk over the Jazz. I've never appreciated his comments, but the dude is a prophet!
Posted by: Tsphere | May 16, 2008 at 08:52 PM
MEMO TO JAZZ:
YOU ARE THE #1 FOULING TEAM IN THE LEAGUE.
THAT IS A FACT.
To act like you dont foul cuz you're at home is crazy.
Posted by: Korey | May 16, 2008 at 08:52 PM
Blowing
Them
Out
....in the first 24 minutes. MUST keep it up in 2nd half, no letup, go for the throat.
Posted by: WWJWWD | May 16, 2008 at 08:52 PM
What was the crowd chanting?
You have to admit, it's a whole lot easier to watch a Jazz home game when they didn't pass out the baby blue t-shirts at the door! That's just a lotta ugly is what that is!
GO LAKERS!
Posted by: Happy Camper | May 16, 2008 at 08:53 PM
maybe kobe's will is finally rubbing to the rest of the team. he is cold like a slab of marble
Posted by: Zin Master | May 16, 2008 at 08:53 PM
I heard on Loose Cannons today that some Jazz fan referred to Kobe's daughters (when they were sitting on his lap during a post-game interview) as CHIA PETS.
Once I heard that, and knowing that they were chanting "cancer! cancer!" at D Fish during another game...I wanted the Lakers to come out and humiliate the Jazz.
I just might get my wish.
GO LAKERS!!!
Posted by: Janet | May 16, 2008 at 08:53 PM
Utah: Where borderline riots because of out-of-touch fans happens.
Posted by: "Pig" Miller | May 16, 2008 at 08:53 PM
Chuck23, Is Fish not coming back next year???? That would be the end of an era and suck.
The Chant is REFS YOU SUCK!!! But that last foul on Fisher was definitely a foul. I see no bias. Apparently the Jazz have been to the line more than the Lakers.
JAZZ FANS YOU SUCK!!!
GOOOOoooOOOOO LAaaaAAAAaaKERS!!!!
Posted by: JohnnyP | May 16, 2008 at 08:54 PM
Excellent half of basketball... that's the type of half that we've all seen
this team is capable of. They just need to come out with the same intensity
at the start of the third and this game is O-V-E-R. I can't be any more proud
of this team. I LOVE THIS TEAM!!!
Posted by: Bzar | May 16, 2008 at 08:54 PM
Wow, great first half. Now all we have to do is not screw it up!
Posted by: Benjamin | May 16, 2008 at 08:54 PM
Lakers4Realz
My neighbor stopped by and chatted away a storm. I know we said a game in round 2, but since that hasn't happened, how about a game in round 3? Let me know.
Colorado loves the Lakers!
Posted by: Hugo Boss | May 16, 2008 at 08:54 PM
Where is the BANNER HOLDER...Don't play with the power of prayer!
Posted by: BocaLakerGurl | May 16, 2008 at 08:54 PM
Are Utah fans dumber than they look? Do they actually think that chanting "Referees suck" will get the refs to call the game differently? What a bunch of mormons, uh, I mean morons...
Go Lakers
Posted by: thedropper | May 16, 2008 at 08:55 PM
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!
Utah fans chanting "REFEREES SUCK"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG - this is toooooo sweeeeeeeeetttt!!!!!
The Show is on fire! Kobe & Company will be home watching TV on Monday night!
Posted by: justanothermambafan | May 16, 2008 at 08:55 PM
It sounded kind of like half the crowd was chanting "Referees Suck" and the other half was chanting "Lakers Suck"
It's hard to get these things coordinated when you have the collective intelligence of gravel.
Posted by: phred | May 16, 2008 at 08:55 PM
-I see championship level focus and confidence from almost every Laker. Just beautiful to watch.
-Kobe is turning this team into a group of cold blooded assassins.
-Every time Fish makes a smart hustle play, I get Smush flashbacks, and I thank my lucky stars.
Posted by: LAKER TRUTH | May 16, 2008 at 08:57 PM
farmar still sucks ..
but we re winning :D close em up boys
Posted by: farmteam | May 16, 2008 at 08:57 PM
Boy, combine this first half, with how the Celtics (supposedly the best in the East) played, and I'm thinking it might be time to start practicing my championship parade dance.
Which will scare the crap out of my wife!!
Posted by: exhelodrvr | May 16, 2008 at 08:57 PM
beautiful half of basketball right there
now gotta get ready for the inevitable utah run and hit 'em right back
Posted by: CBuck | May 16, 2008 at 08:58 PM
TO: BocaLakerGirl and KimD:
Right on the money with your posts. Gasol is a great addition and I'm not going to bash much of his game especially with his rebounds and blocks right now but IF I WERE TO bash it, it would be what you two posted. He only dunks when he has no traffic around him but when the opponents surround him and he's right under the basket he goes up soft for layups... needs to get some upper body gym time so his shoulders, arms and chest could enable him to POWER DUNK with BOTH hands. But really if that's what I'm complaining about it must mean we're winning.... lol. Good post you two..
To Vinny: COME ON?? NOBODY at the CENTER position in the NBA has worse hands than KWAME... I admit Pau needs some work...but it might have been better if Kobe hadn't tried to get all fancy which threw off his timing to catch the ball.....
Posted by: jhnlannery | May 16, 2008 at 08:58 PM
Hey Pig - watttup? Are you enjoying this as much as me? I see you brought the troll-B-gone - good job!!!
Loving this!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: justanothermambafan | May 16, 2008 at 08:59 PM
It's amazing what happens when Fish doesn't pick up 2 early fouls.
Sasha is also playing excellent ball. When he's in with Fish and Kobe is at the 3, they are LETHAL on both ends of the court.
