Jump an Aston Martin. Get a movie gig

Apparently, that's how it works, as Spike Lee was in the locker room following around Kobe for what I believe is a behind the scenes documentary he's making.  Either that, or Bryant's doing an extremely elaborate screen test for "The Inside Man II: More Men Inside".  The filmmaker (who's done great work on the previous docu's 4 Little Girls and When the Levees Broke) was scurrying about the area, bumping fists with Sasha Vujacic and DJ Mbenga, giving Kobe a quick hug as 24 headed to the restroom, then following his subject into the trainer's room.  I asked Sasha if he planned on also being featured in the flick.  Nah, he's just looking for a supporting role in a tale that involves the Lakers and a #1 seed.  "That would be a good story," smiled Vujacic.  Later, as I walked back into the locker room after hearing Greg Popovich address the media, Spike and crew streaked past me in a hurry, with the Knicks loyalist declaring, "It's Kobe stretching!"

With all due respect to Lee, I've seen Kobe stretch before and I'm not sure I'd describe the sight as "riveting."  But maybe the scene change after Spike adds the CGI monsters.

Something went goofy with BK's download of Phil Jackson's media session, so we unfortunately don't have it.  But lest you think we're leaving you audio-free...

Download trevor_ariza_pregame_4.13.mp3 (Trevor Ariza, talking about his injury status)
Download greg_popovich_pregame_4.13.mp3 (Greg Popovich, some interesting stuff about seeds/home court not mattering to him)
Download andrew_bynum_injury_update.mp3 (Andrew Bynum from last Friday giving an update on his situation.  Granted, not much y'all didn't already know is revealed, but you're at least hearing what you already knew straight from the kid's mouth).

Oh, and no Manu.  Nice break there for the Lakers.

GUYS, LAKERS GAME LINKS PLEASE..
i am at work, and there's no ABC nor any TV here...
:D
thanks..

GO LAKERS, BEAT THE SPURS!!

No Manu, so the spread bumped to -8. I think the Lakes will win, but I loaded up on the spurs making it closer than 10 points (I bought 2 points). We will see ......

At least Spike drew the line and followed Kobe into the training room with his cameras and not into the restroom....that would have been entirely TMI (Too Much Info). jk!!

I would love to see all 17 angles of that Kobe 3 or that one block.

While both grew up in St. Louis without NBA basketball, Andrew became a die hard Lakers fanatic after moving to L.A. to attend USC. That he managed to find a job requiring him to obsess over his favorite team, the same activity that prompted him to waste time while working other jobs, is pretty incredible. As for Brian, his baptism into pro hoops fandom has been provided by the "All Lakers, All The Time" citizens of Los Angeles. Beats the hell out of covering the Bucks.
