Postcard from Sacramento

One sign that things have changed around here, and not in a good way, at least as it relates to a strong home court advantage for the Kings? Heading in to Arco tonight, I the ratio of Lakers jerseys to Kings jerseys among early arriving fans was about 10-1. The crowd might not be as partisan the Kings would like. Other notes of import:
- For the Kings, Ron Artest will play, Beno Udrih and Brad Miller will not.
- Luke Walton has a strained right hammy, and won't play tonight. He hurt it last Wednesday against the Blazers, and tweaked it again on Friday. The hope was that with rest (Walton didn't practice yesterday) and treatment he'd be ready to go tonight, but no such luck. He's day to day, and is aiming to be back on the court Tuesday night against the Blazers.
- The visiting locker room at Arco is about the size of my living room, which isn't necessarily that big, despite what seems like a glamorous, high paying gig. I have no idea how they accommodate playoff games in there. One fun quirk of the room? Whenever anyone shut the door to the little training room just off the main locker room... it would lock so nobody could get out. The first victim? Chris Mihm. Locked in the training room. That had to be his worst nightmare.
- Ronny Turiaf was extolling the virtues of the cookies available for players who attend chapel. Brad Turner of the Press-Enterprise ended up with half of one, and indeed vouched for their deliciousness
- Funny moment: As Sasha and Pau were walking out of the locker room, they stopped to look at the game film of Sacramento's last visit to Staples. Vujacic happened to have the ball in the game film, and Pau looked at the screen and said, "Pass it, pass it, pass it," while TV Sasha held onto the ball. Maybe you had to be there.
- I'm not going to say the media dining at the arena left something to be desired... but there's no other way to finish that sentence. They did, though, have Rice Krispies treats, which adds a touch of redemption.
AUDIO: PJ, and it's worth a listen. He talks about tonight's game (they run more without Miller available), officiating, why Ron Artest will play tonight, scoreboard watching, and the relation to coaching and on court performance.

its is respectkobe.com saying kobe wasn't robbed the past 2 years... i was pretty surprised, coming from him... i guess he makes some good points tho... he is mvp this year tho!!!
KB24 = MVP
unfotunately i think cp3 will edge him out this year. whoever said in the last post they blame the shooters for the losses to charlotte and memphis was right on... they probably cost kobe the mvp. especially memphis... kobe shot over 50% and the rest of the team couldn't buy a shot... 32%. if they had just hit a couple more of the shots they should have hit, kobe's mvp would be a done deal already.

Glad to see Newble in the game. Looked a little rusty, but I liked his physical play. He will be okay ince he settles down.
Go Lakers!!!

i guess if they pick on you, no matter what kobe do until he die, he never going to get what he deserve. what is fair! one of the year, he should get it, then people say his team did not get to 50 games. This is should be it, then people say he have paul gasol on him, even thought his team pass 50 games. If they pick on you, they can say any little thing to prevent you from getting it. So at least in most people 's mind, you are the MVP! i guess that is life, it isn't alway fair!
