Knockout punch a-comin'?

April 28, 2008 |  9:06 am

Alioverlistonp140 The Lakers have a quartet of chances remaining to put the Nuggets out of their literal misery, the first of which presents itself this evening (7:30 pm PST TNT).  The opportunity to put this baby to bed on their first try is a notion appealing to the visiting squad, although it's debatable whether the Nuggets themselves wouldn't prefer that even more.  Anyway you slice it, the Pepsi Center representatives have lost their collective composure and regrouping feels like a long shot.  Inspirational weight room decorations haven't done bupkis to drop temperatures back to "simmer."  Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony has been held in serious check by a Vlad Radmanovic/Luke Walton-led group effort, although the forward's own emotions may be doing more to negate his scoring than any hand in the kisser.

When not watching his shots clang the rim, he's accusing teammates -- who deny it -- and coaches of quitting, a statement the Lakers have to treat with a grain of salt (even when plainly obvious as fact).  Nugget Land frustrations have grown so palpable that Coby Karl has thought better of dishing the usual good natured teasing with his pops.  Even a rook can understand the notion of "time and place."  Safe to say, the elder Karl would kill for a squad oozing with the selflessness on display right now by the Lakers.  At least he can take pride in knowing that a fellow Chapel Hill alum is now reaping the rewards of patience during this crew's construction.

SHLA's Game 4 preview.

Are The Big Bridge Burner and Ason on the verge of a vacation because they play for the inferior team or karma biting them in the buttocks?  Whatever the reason for either squad's struggles, the latter could be part of Mark Cuban's blow up mission in Big D.

Why you Chickens acting like Nuggets?

Charles,

Awesome post.

Fatty,

Genius.

I'll steal one of the ideas from here or come up with something...

I had to look online to find out what Simers looks like. I did see Plaschke at game 3, sitting in about the third row half way in... if Bill is there, then TJ is probably there too.

I think I'm going to put on the back of one of my signs (it will face the media area)
TJ Simers:
"You're Fired!"

This Laker team might be very young, but one advantage this team has over other teams is experience. Now please hear me out. Aside from Kobe and Fish, this team does not have many winning memories from the playoffs, but if you look at the regular season games, every team and city gears up to play the Lakers. This team is accustomed to seeing absolute maximum effort from the opposition, as well as maximum excitement and noise from the fans on the road. This team has more experience than any other team when it comes to playing in hostile environments. The transition from playing road games in the regular season to the playoffs is miniscule compared to the transition that other playoff teams will have to go through. This may be a disadvantage when it comes to the team’s regular season record, but it will be a huge advantage during the playoffs.

This “experience” coupled with the fact that the Lakers are led by a cold blooded assassin and are nationally televised more than any other team, give me little doubt that this YOUNG team will thrive in hostile playoff environments, such as Salt Lake City.

Lakers over the Jazz in 5 games.

Hugo, Lakers4Realz, mrbarneydangles...

Can you tell me what happened over in section 110 towards the end of the last game?

There was a huge commotion with about 3 minutes to go, but my wife distracted me talking about this baby Nuggets fan that was leaving the building... the next thing I knew, two people were getting hauled off and the crowd was going crazy.

Thanks!

Sorry Edwin, Do Not Worry, etc. but this post does not belong to me:

"hey EDWIN, wow noticed your english has mucho dinero improved, si si si.. from your most recent post and NO misspelling.hehehehehehehehehe!

I may be a lot of things, but immature and illiterate aren't among them.

As for this comment below, I think "son of an immigrant" is supposed to be a put down in which case "DO NOT WORRY" needs to apologize to a lot of people.

Edwin don't pay any attention to PSLAKERFAN's comment about your english, he himself is a son of an immigrant.

As for my comment on your english skills from yesterday I already apologized as I should not be critical of people for whom English is not a first language.

I am not sure why someone would pretend to be me, but the K-Bros may know who it is. (e-mail address or IP address)

WE HAVE A SECOND BROWN NOSER AWARD WINNER in MarkytheArky:

Bynum. I think it's becoming nigh-impossible for me to push this point home any further.

GO LAKERS!

Charles
How are you my brother? Ready for the sweep?

Tim-4-Show
At the end of game 3, there were some drunk Thuggets fans fighting. Some people were aggressively by Denver's finest.

I'll post a cool Sasha snap shot on the Lakers Scene shortly.

Colorado loves the Lakers!
