Better, but not better enough

Word from Eric Pincus at Hoopsworld.com is that Trevor Ariza is improving, but still isn't ready for full contact basketball activities (such as NBA playoff basketball). He can run around and drill, but will need one more CT scan before he's cleared to go whole hog. So the Denver series is out, but here's still the chance of a Round Two return for Ariza, knock on wood.
So the news isn't ideal, but it's not horrible, either.

It´s gameday!!
Let´s go for a sweep, tonight goal´s to crush nuggets and go to rest with a 3-0. But before, with your permission, i´ll be cheering Jose Calderon Toronto Raptor´s against Orlando. May he be "Kryptonite" (I think this is how it is written in English) and carry the team just like Thursday to a 2-2. Un, dos, tres, olé!!!
Go Lakes!

I understand injuries better than most I have had alot from my teens to my 40's. But I don't live in the contract world and have always had to work or perform or no gas. These guys don't what to heal any faster than they have too, except KB, Lamar and Rony.
So don't get down on trainers and the doctors they can't make these guys gut it out. At least Vitti has helped koby so he can play, 24 is a man amunest boys.

before the series began with this ENVER Thuggets i never hated them coz their no threat to us but this continous yapping really makes me mad!
It just shows how ill tempered and un-educated this guys are. especially "no name smith". that fool is like barking as if he have actually proven something in this league.
atleast stevenson was compared to soulja boy, i compare mr.smith to vanilla ice!
Good thing that vick is serving time coz if his friendly with any one of this thuggets his dogs might caught the characters of these ENVER TEAM: full on BARKING but cant BITE!!!
as for the FUNS, the hell with them! not worthy of our blog space!

Edwin Gueco,
Absolutely.
We have a right to be confident, but not blindly so. This is the most competitive NBA season perhaps ever. As San Antonio showed us last night, they're pretty darned good.
We need Ariza and Bynum back, and pronto. Let's hope the Utah-Rockets series goes at least six games, so we get some rest and practice and at least Ariza back.
GO LAKERS!

Xodus-
Must be nice to be able to claim you were right either way, eh? haha!
Really though, the series might look a lot different if the Suns had won the first game. There's just no way they could afford to lose a game where they completely outplayed the Spurs.

Did you get a pair of those Red Kobe suspenders?

"There's no need to get all crazy about it," said Nuggets guard J.R. Smith. "Every once in a while some nobody gets a hot hand and scores a lot of points. No need to panic. Sun shines on a dog's ass every once in a while. I'm sure that sooner or later he'll come back to earth. He'll be back in the D-League before you know it."

I think he was talking about the play of Coby Karl, with his one assist game, and not Kobe Bryant. lol

All the fools who are saying Bynum doesn't want to come back because of his extension are fools.
Think about it this way, if his return puts his extension in jeopardy, it means he came back to early and he either injured himself again or he played extremely poorly.
In either case, we don't need him coming back unless he's 100%. Now get over yourselves and your selfishness. It's not your career or your money on the line.

One thing that the Lakers can learn from the Spurs is that the level of intensity has to increase with every game in the playoffs. The Lakers have a chance to make this a fairly easy series for themselves. All they have to do is win today. To do that, they must come with an even greater sense of purpose and resolve than during the first 2 games. It certainly won't be easy in Denver's building, but that is what champions do. GO LAKE SHOW!!!!
I can't wait to see the fallout from the Funs' meltdown. Who will be the first to be thrown under the bus by Shaq? Amare? Little Stevie or Crying Mike, the coach that tried to re-invent NBA basketball? I'm sure Steve will be welcomed on set at TNT once he comes off his fishing trip!!! HaHa!! Just remember, Funs...when fishing keep the Big Over-the -Hill in the middle of the boat. One sinking ship is enough!!!

Is Turiaf available to play today? He might be in rehab taking treadmill test due to tonsilitis. He could also seek a throat specialist in Grenada and inquire about the abnormal growth of a bruised tonsil. Lakers could make another annoucement that he will not be available for the next 8 weeks. Playoffs are done by that time. Before I'll be taken seriously, I would like to confess in advance that this is just a joke, OK. Eversince players came to Hollywood, they became so spoiled perhaps due to the weather, the media craze, car maniacs and/or manana attitude of the people. They take more vacation than what should be. These are the playoffs, the real season where Lakers play their best, there are no tomorrows because when your team loses four in a row, it's all over. Don't take things for granted just because Lakers are now leading 2-0. We need the help of Turiaf on defense and rebounds.

I hope Kobe reads this and give the Nuggets 81 points!

Wow. Was he really talking about Kobe? Sounds like a bitter and desperate cry for help to me. I hope Kobe stomps these guys into oblivion today.
No mercy, please.

Jon K.,
Here is what is so frustrating on these injuries. The Laker world accepted that they are done for the season. While we are watching the Denver series, they showed Ariza on the bench and then the speculations begins from TNT broadcasters that very soon this player will join the line up. The the blog makes a follow up with equivocation from the supreme optimists that Ariza will be coming. Suddenly a reporter from Hoopsworld, Eric Pincus delivers the sad news of two weeks more. What do the Lakers front office say, nothing! This is worse than waiting for the hurricane to land on the shore!
The Bynum story, another ad infinitum of speculations. They show him shooting balls against an imaginary robot cardboard in front of him, on the 75K treadmill, teasing all of us, he is coming soon and then, sorry, not too soon but he is coming. Is Bynum a movie trailer?
In a nutshell, our message is straightforward but frank, we hate being manipulated by anyone, if there's any.
Lakers will win today, I consulted the spirit of Nostradamus. lol!

I salute Mamba24, the Dean of this blog and the All-seeing KBros!!! Time for the Lakers to get back to work and take care of business against the Nuggets. Time to crank up the defensive intensity because this game will be won on the defensive end today. Lock em' up Lakers and throw away the key!!! Go Lakers!!! Good day to all the early birds and the rest of the Laker family!!!

Anonymous poster, Wes.
that quote from J.R. Smith is actually from a satire sports news network, I don't know who added the Denver Post at the end.

Why do you people say that Shaq is out of shape. Round is a shape....
Posted by: | April 26, 2008 at 11:25 AM
Xodus,
Being a writer, I 'm sure you know what a parody looks like. They just make fun of the situation as part of the rehabilitation from stress or fear that Lakers might not make it if Socks is missing.
I am not one of those who will blame Bynum that these acts are intentional to beef up his career. I just pose the attacks to the messengers of saying one thing and means another. We are not selfish, if there is any it should be the other side who continue to misinform us. We are mere fans asking questions and more questions.
