Devito_on_taxi Mamba 24, Lakers Blog's version of the "Louie" character from "Taxi" (only not as surly and presumably taller).  The dispatcher making sure every bandwagon rolls out to its proper destination.  Typically, the vehicles Mamba 24 oversees are fueled by straight-faced topics, whether 55 wins or the acquisition of Kevin Garnett.  But every once in a while, he'll roll out something closer to a clown car.  Thus, his newest offering:

THE LAKERS WILL LIVE TO REGRET
THE DAY THEY EVER LET SMUSH
PARKER GO BANDWAGON
*____________________________*

I know from funny.  That's funny.  I also know from bandwagons that won't accumulate any passengers not named "William" or "Henry."

UPDATE: Not comment related, but this clip from last night's Suns/Grizzlies game is worth watching. Very funny.

The race continues.

GO LAKERS!

But what does that have to do with Abe Lincoln?

Who is Smush Parker?

Long Time Laker Fan,

I was one who didn't think the Lakers would win 55 games. Mainly because I was a realist with the team as it was constructed at that time (summer). I factored injuries because they happened a lot to this team in the past.

At the time, we had no idea we would get Pao Gasol and that Bynum would emerge.

In reality, since Bynum got hurt, we would probably only have 35 wins if we didn't get Gasol.

So basically I got it right! Another serious injury prevented us from reaching the 55 wins..Luckily the Lakers saved your bandwagon by getting Gasol.

I was being a realist!

Congrats Mamba!

There may be no owner or driver, as soon as Smush gets his keys back from the valet service, the Smushcalade is waiting...

Lakers without a healthy Bynum is in par with Spurs, Celtics and Pistons. With Bynum he takes them over the top.

Lakers are doing the right thing of not rushing Andrew's comeback, give him extra time for his strengthening, Lakers should be fine. Where you really going to need Andrew is the 2nd rd, West Finals and NBA Finals.

Clap Clap Clap! Bravo Mamba24! Bravo!

How come Lakers are not using Pau/Kobe pic n roll as much as they did when Gasol first came in?

William Henry Parker must feel like he just got whacked in the Smushticles.

Damn, inspirational and funny too. Nice one, Larry!

Please add me to the Smush bandwagon.

k thanks.

Props Mamba24. I guffawed at that quote when I read it.

zen,

I was one who thought the Lakers would win 65 games. Mainly because I was a realist with the team as it was constructed at that time (summer) with Buss as the owner. I factored big trades because they were due to happen to this team in the future.

At the time, we had no idea Bynum would get injured since he wasn't injured last year

In reality, we traded for Gasol, we would probably have 55 wins if Bynum wasn't injured.

So basically I got it right! A big trade allowed us to reach the 65 wins..Luckily the Lakers saved your bandwagon by Bynum getting injured.

I was being a realist!

Can you put me on the
"Happy to have Mamba24 on this blog"
Bandwagon!!

McGarnagle,

Nice attempt, but No.. We are not winning 65 games! We wouldn't have won 55 either if we didn't get lucky with Gasol. The Lakers have had the injury bug for 4 years now, and I said they would win 55 only if they had no injuries to key players. But obviously that was a big 'IF'

The D,

>>>William Henry Parker must feel like he just got
>>>whacked in the Smushticles.

ROTFL.

He was a total Smushticular Cancer.

Someone has a website!

http://andrewbynum.com/

Lakers have been sucking ass the past 2 weeks (except for the Clippers game). Jordan Farmar's play early in the Kings game Sunday is what lost that game for us.

Bill Simmons, who the blog probably hates, but he is nevertheless, quite talented. (not much unlike a basketball player we tend to adore [Hint: its not LeBron James])

This isnt about basketball, but about sports and LA. I think its a definite read.

AK,

You hit the double-whammy on the funny today. That Shaq clip is freakin' hilarious!

Like I said, I hope Shaq does well, so that when we beat them down in the playoffs, no one can say anything.

McGarnagle,

Most of the optimistic fans that were on the 55 win bandwagon this season were also on the 55 win bandwagon the past couple years. I guess one out of three isn't too bad.

I've been on the 40 win bandwagon the past three years, which makes me three for three. :}

McGarnagle,

I couldn't have said it better myself. When Bynum went down we were already on a 60-win pace. I even suggested upgrading the 55-win bandwagon back at that time. You know, fuzzy dice, fat rims, sound system. LCD TV's, etc. You know, the standard stuff.

Come to think of it, we should pro'lly put some NOS under the hood, too.

Nice post,
--FearlessWhackJob

It's a shame about Jamiel Andre Shaw. When I hear stories of tragedy like this, I have to fight the reactionary urge to promote rounding up all violent gang members and dropping them off in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, 1000 miles from land, in a shark breeding zone.

Urgh.

GO LAKERS!

Please read the small print before replying to post!!!

Like at Zoo there are signs every where saying do not feed the animals!!

This is an official warning post from 'Pluto HQ',

'PLEASE STOP FEEDING THE TROLLS'

(IT IS KIND OF THEROPUTIIC WRITING IN ALL CALPS)

Like AK/BK have said on numerous occasions, if you keep feeding trolls they will only come back for more!! Why try having a conversation with somebody who is hell bent on 'Hatred'

It is better to let them have their little rants on 'How Kobe is dirty player' from some 'Laker Hating' Troll, because we all know that if Kobe is dirty, that makes 'Dirk' just plain nasty!!

They come out with quotes Kobe shoots to much. Well I think it is in his job description as a 'Shooting Guard'.

Guess what, Uncle Lebron takes 22 shot/game 8.1 rbds/pg 7.5apg and 3.4 to/pg.
While Kobe takes 20 shots/game and 6.1 rbds/pg, 5.3 apg and 3.4 to/pg

Show me how Kobe is being a ball hog.

I forgot Uncle Lebron attempts 10 fts/pg against Kobe’s 9 fts/pg so much for Kobe not attacking the basket.

Most telling stat, Uncle Lebron sits six games with ‘finger injury’ while Kobe foregoes surgery because he is selfish and wants to go through all that pain in order to win the scoring title, blah, blah to blah infinity and beyond!!!!

I suppose a centre that rebounds too much is 'ball hog' as well.

Mamba24 what’s up!! What happened to blog hall of fame!!!

Finally, do not feed these attention seeking fat ugly trolls!!!!

Peace!!!

Angry_Laker

Long Time Laker Fan,

I predicted 50 Wins. I thought with the addition of Fisher, the Subtraction of Smush and if we remained healthy that was reasonable.(+ 8 Wins) With Kwame and Cook, and the unknown improvement of Farmar - Sasha - and Bynum, I thought 55 might have been too much.

I said it on the one of the shows (maybe the first 3 widgets of the NowLive Shows.)

If we go 55, you called!

Regards,

Caliphilosopher,

email me charles@concretegrooves.com sorry i never got back about the guitar lessons...

Way to go Mamba24!! Congratulations!
That was hilarious - there's some funny stuff on the posts that make you laugh to yourself, but when reading yours I let go a loud one (a laugh, that is!) - that was funny!

Poor Smush - at least the one great thing he's now done for the Lakers & their fans is provide some comic relief! Can you imagine if he becomes a Clipper?!! Oh the stories we'll tell & the good times we'll have - LOL!

GO LAKERS!

Elliot, I gotta say that I might have spent my money elsewhere.

GO LAKERS! GO JERRY BUSS!!

The old man doesn't pay nearly that much to hang out with better looking women.

You Laker fan out there please listen to this argument for my pic as the NBA MVP. The league MVP belongs to none other than Lamar Odom. Okay just hear me out.
In an alternate universe the Lakers are playing with a healthy Bynum and Lamar Odom. Lamar is still the weak link in that team, and the Lakers are still a good team just not elite. Okay now back to this universe. In this current universe there is a guy by the name of Pau Gasol playing alongside Kobe Bryant and a completely different Lamar Odom, thanks to Mr. Odom. You have to realize that the most likely reason that we got Mr. Gasol from the Grizzlies was due to the fact that Bynum went down with that knee injury. The Laker's season seemed doomed once again. But hold up, who was the person responsible for that Bynum injury? Well Lamar Odom takes that credit and that indirectly results in the acquisition Pau Gasol. WOW! So Odom actually got us Mr. Pau Gasol, is that so? Well not entirely but I would say that he was a very very big reason we have him as a Laker right now. The Lakers management and fans started panicking and it set a whole kind of crazy chain reaction. Okay so once we got Gasol, Odom at that time started realizing that he was expendable seeing as how Kwame Brown was traded without any kind of a hint. So that was a huge wake up call to Lamar and ever since he's actually playing like an all-star I mean his numbers since the trade are All-Star quality numbers.
The chain reaction that Lamar Odom indirectly caused in this universe and throughout the whole western conference was the single most important reason that all the teams started to panic about the Lakers. He caused all of this mess in the west. The Lakers are now favored to win it all once a healthy Drew comes back in time for the playoffs. If they dominate like we all anticipate they are, it would have all been because of a guy named Lamar Odom. Does anybody buy my argument?

Ohhhhhhhhhh I remember getting laughed at this past summer win I predicted "56 wins" !

LAMAR FOR MVP!!! I totally agree with that!!! Crazy stuff.
You are a genius Johnny.

it's a bit of an interesting coincidence that Smush Parker may be coming back to play at Staples. But instead of a Laker jersey, he'll could be wearing a Clippers uniform.

I hope they don't get him. I actually like him, but his anger can get the better of him. The Clips don't need that.

Even Miami, who are running with 11 wins all season, decided they were better without him. Sad, but true.

Check the new thread - Smush is officially a Clipper!

the Smushcalade is back!!
Poor Clippers!!

Anyone have links to Kobe blocking Marion and Ford?

Thanks in advance!

johnny,

Yea only time will tell.. Let's hope Lamar didn't ruin Bynums career.

Hahaha! Congratz Mamba24.

It's only natural that "The Comment of the Day" would go to the LakersBlog "Blogger of the Year". Congrats, Mamba 24!!!!

This is hilarious.. Congrats Mamba24..but looks like the battle ensues. Go LAKERS!

btw hariyahu did you ever get the link to Kobe blocking Marion?

Lakers rock!!!
