Apparently, we've got some work to do in improving our Q rating.  (Although, to be totally honest, I'd much rather watch that shrimp...)

AK/BK,

You guys are a lot older looking than I thought (kidding)! I do appreciate your hard work and dedication to allowing us crazy fans a way to vent our frustrations and celebrate our victories. You do a great service to the fans of the Lakers, and you're head and shoulders more talented than any sports writer in the LA Times print.

Gosh, I wonder who that wonderful blog member was who posted that for you?

I guess we could try putting the Benny Hill theme under some of it, maybe play it in fast-foward a bit and see how it flies...

haha, well I'll go watch it.

That's one small step for the Q; one giant leap for mankind!

Kambros,

That was pretty cool behind the scene stuff -- I enjoyed that -- your hits went up to 1422.

As for your Q rating, you can't account for taste, how else would you explain Britney Spears and dog shows.

My suggestion would be to photo shop your heads on the shrimp’s body, on a treadmill, in fast forward, with the Benny Hill Theme in the background -- that zany English music gets me every time.

ok, I expected a little person on a treadmill..

Jackie's never written back.....

The Rockets are on flippin' fire -- wow.

obviously the set which includes shrimp and benny hill is larger than the one that includes Lakers and blogs. there's no shame in this. it's not really surprising.....it might be a good boggle statistic....

I wouldn't be too concerned about the difference in views. I mean, seriously, who or what can compete with a shrimp running on a treadmill? The only thing better than that is the water skiing squirrel.

CALI KING

BK how come AK has hair and you don't ... or is it that AK will lose his hair soon 2?

I went bald at 23 ... i hate seeing people with hair ... so umm it'd make my day to know AK will lose his too ...

bl*#$dy genes ... %#$#E u grandpa ... but umm rip 2 ...

AK/BK -
I think the hit counter on YouTube is broken guys! I know at three people tonight - along with the people above - who all viewed it and the counter hasn't changed from 1421.

It's a conspiracy man!

J.

D'Antoni on Suns defense:

"Sometimes we play too hard," D'Antoni said. "We get too anxious, and we overrun things and get ourselves in trouble. We're not a great defensive team. We know that, (but) sometimes you try too hard. We get ourselves into a position where you think, 'You know what? It would've been better if you just laid back there.' "

Uhhh ... what? Can we give this dude a drug test?

LTV sent me!

Can I have your job?!?!? I know it must be tough at times but you must really enjoy what you do...don't take it for granted!!

keep up the good work, but you guys do look younger in your default profile. :)

How can that KBros clip have only been seen 1,400 times? It's been up there for more than a year. And there are enough shots of the Laker Girls to merit repeat viewings. So what gives?

AK/BK

"Should we just toss OJ Mayo in with the older guys for Senior Day at USC? After all, he's likely as gone as they are."

That's interesting: Mayo said he's coming back for his sophomore year after today's game. Who knows whether he's serious.

OK, if it weren't for the fact that Paul is playing in TV no-man's land, he'd be getting more play for MVP. He had an amazing game (in defeat) against the Rockets. He started the first quarter with 11/4. His numbers are simply gaudy and he's...what...6ft tall? Plus, he's winning. Winning more than LBJ. And he's doing all HIS winning in the West. And he has even more of a physical handicap than Kobe does when you are comparing MVP candidates.

Who is this guy? Is he really channeling Chamberlain?

I tell you one thing, he is playing for the perfect head coach for him and his type of game.

Who wants to meet up with New Orleans in the playoffs?

--FearlessWhackJob

BTW, the game we have coming up against Houston is going to be Epic.

E.P.I.C.

It seems clear that luke has not only fallen out of favor with the blog in general but also the Lakers coaching staff. Vlad has been moved into the starting rotation almost immediately and the offense looks more fluid for it. We are now justing going small and bringing in Sasha just to get luke off the floor. He should be the guy on the bench who gets playing time right before Karl and Mbenga in a lopsided game. The problem is, without Ariza back, that cant happen.

Great stuff, K bros. But the best part is that YouTube still shows that the "Kamenetzky Brothers & Lakers Blog on KCAL9" has just 1421 hits.

Oh, I don't think I can eat shrimp again.

Clippers guard Cuttino Mobley praised the Lakers, but gave the Spurs an edge based on winning the NBA championship last season.
"I'm happy for Kobe (Bryant) because he gets a lot of haters out there," Mobley said. "He's got a team that plays with him and he's got other leaders on the floor besides himself with Derek Fisher, Pau Gasol, Lamar (Odom) and Luke Walton.

"There's a lot of guys with high basketball IQ's.

"Of course, San Antonio is still the best because they won last year. But (the Lakers) going to give everyone a run for the the money".

Even Mobley admits there are a lot of Kobe haters out there.

BK/AK
You guys have an awesome job. Do you ever go On The Road or just home games?

I told my wife today that one day when I retire, we'll spend some months back in LA. Ofcourse it'll be when the season is in effect to watch Lakers games.

Colorado loves the Lakers!

Keep up the good work, AK/BK!

You guys do so much for LakerNation

Shout outs from Laker fans in Ohio (where I currently am)

thanks for keeping us updated..

Sorry AK and BK, I think most of the hits were from people who just wanted to see Jackie Johnson.

Seriously, great that you were acknowledged for the great work you guys do day in, day out, seemingly 24/7.

Can someone set a Medvedenko highlight reel to the Benny Hill theme?

We need to keep the Fire Simers Bandwagon going. There are at least four major problems with the dude:

1) He can't be bothered to find a subject to write about, so, for example, now he's writing about how other people reacted to his failure to find a subject to write about.

2) The subjects he invents as a result are lame, either as journalism (reporting stories of interest to real people) or comedy. One joke about the professional qualifications of his son-in-law (the bagger) is enough and not even funny, but the same thing for years on end is beyond boring and the only laughable thing about it is Simer's persistence. Repeating the eternal "baby" accusation about Kobe is worse than lame, because even Kobe's complaints are founded on professional analysis. On the other hand, real babies tend to engage in the kind of meaningless repetitive behavior we see from Simers himself.

3) Simers has a real personality problem: lacking any kind of work ethic himself, he nevertheless takes a condescending tone with regard to every successful professional he writes about, especially local ones (Kobe and PJ are the stars to whom he feels most superior). But he equally loves lording it over the readers who write to him as well.

4) He actually seems to believe he's a wit.

There were a few moments when one had to laugh in the latest article, but they were all due to the clever remarks of his irate readers, the best one being,
"T.J., you have every right to call your boss an idiot, didn't he hire you?" Simers almost seems human when he includes that in his column, but he's just using someone else's superior wit to make his article seem funny!

But the worst and most unprofessional thing is this: he throws a low blow at one of his critics who wrote, "Maybe some of us feel liberated to see someone of talent express the truth -- our boss is an idiot," when he publishes her name and mentions that her boss might be interested in knowing about this! For that alone (and it may be a false name he used, but as journalism that makes it even worse) the LA TIMES should fire Simers' ass immediately! And if he doesn't own a donkey, then fire the man himself.

That youtube really makes me appreciate what you guys do, and also how annoying it must be when guys like me post useless posts. So, yeah, I'll try to cut down on that.

Thanks for your work, KBros!

Also, I'll wililng to watch more youtubes featuring Jackie Johnson ...

I forgot it was daylights savings...

Laker Outsider,

you wrote: We are now justing going small and bringing in Sasha just to get luke off the floor.

Isn't Vlad 6'10" ? I think PJ is going for a LARGE line up
with Pau, Odom & Vlad.

FearlessWhackJob,

I watched the Rockets/Hornets game. CP3 was ridiculous. Waiting for him or McGrady to miss was
like waiting for a check to cash. It seemed to take
forever.

"We've invented the wheel, essentially...but better."
:)
:)

Since no one remembers who invented the wheel, I guess anonymity is the curse for such greatness.

Mark

To AK & Lakerlover,

re: whether Kobe is making his teammates better.

Lakerlover in particular, you asked me if Phil jackson
had been brain washed by the media-hype.

This is what Kobe said:

"I think I'm playing well," he said when asked if this was his best year. "I think a lot of people may say, 'Well, he's figured out how to do this and how to do that.' And the reality is that the players around me have gotten better. They've improved.

In case you're unclear: the "They" in the final sentence
would be upgrading from Smush to D-Fish, upgrading
from a busted Kwame & juvenile Bynum to Gasol,
Farmar coming off the bench & Vlad's shooting hand
injury getting better. For the record, I believe you can
find a sound bite/quote somewhere which has Kobe
speaking about trying to make his teammates better.

http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=7751

Did he steal my words?

Kobe says: "I don't care how many times you pass the ball. If (your teammates) don't make the shot, then you don't get an assist. I think a lot of the credit has to go to my teammates and how much they've improved and how much they've worked on their games. They're making me look good."

D*&N STRAIGHT! Givin' props where their due!

Go Lakers!
Go Kobe!

K bros, thanks for the blog and obviously the hard work you put in before, during and after a game.....we surely appreciate it.

Feels good to wake up atop the West, even if only 0.5 ahead of the Spurs.

I am on business in Dallas for a couple of days (until today....when I fly back To Colorado Springs..)

Last night I enjoyed going out to a club and dinner wearing my Lakers gear here in ugly Dallas...it was nice to get dirty looks from folks..and then me having to remind them that they have never won any titles..

haha..

Go lakers.

down with the kings tonight.

Colorado...2nd home of the lakers baby.

Tim Thomas is the Clippers' Kwame Brown. They should trade him for draft picks. The guy plays with NO heart.

Go Clippers!

GO LAKERS!

Who would have thought the Mihmster would be back before Bynum?

It will be good to see him back on the floor.

Go Mihm!

GO LAKERS!

Lakers fans,
Hahahah, TJ Simers is a cry baby!!! Good thing he knows our reactions regarding his column the other day. TJ, Don't mess with the Lakers fans!!!!!!!!!

T.J. Simers is the worst sportswriter I've ever read in a major paper.

This guy must have some dirt on L.A. Times ownership. There are so many better writers out there.

T.J. SIMERS? NO!!!! KAREEM? YES!!!!

GO LAKERS!

good job guys.. you know, i hate to say it... but from the photo on the site, I always pictured you as more of a pair of mongloid brothers.. you're actually a good lookin pair, and apprently brian takes great care to lufa that shiney dome. anyways, the blog is my main stop for laker news.. it's getting better all the time. thanks.

Nice little advertisement for the blog on KCAL. Note that this blog is more high profile than we realized. 7,000 hits a day. Soon to be 10,000 during the playoffs.

THUS! I would like to remind EVERYONE who has ANY inside with the Los Angeles Lakers that somebody needs to get a three bottles of liquid sea minerals to Gary Vitti and then lecture him until he agrees to give one to Chris Mihm, another to Andrew Bynum, and a third to Trevor Ariza.

Of course, one bottle will not be enough, but it's a start. If you have money, make sure our guys get one with an herbal mixture that supports the circulatory system, something with hawthorne berries in it and whatnot.

Okay, are we finally clear on the subject?"

Get Gary Vitti three bottles of liquid sea minerals with a hawthorne berry herbal blend.

Ready? BREAK!

GO LAKERS!

Kambro's

decent, time passing post guys . . . You all do an AMAZING job and i know your supremely busy, but honestly i think the blogosphere would prefer more "meat" from you guys, the seafood just doesn't cut it.

Not every player gets interviewed, Not ever coach gets to talk to the general media, thats why i think it would be interesting to myself and others on the blog to hear what other players, coaches etc, think.

I want to hear, Gary Vitti and see whats going on with the injury bug we have had over the past couple of years. (not just sea minerals, i hope)
I want to hear what tex winter, rambis, Bshaw and the other coaches think of the team, the future, etc.
We get a great bit of Kobe, and Phil and thats great since they are unequivocally the 'superstars' of the team. But a blog should have a bit more depth, i think?
Maybe talk to Magic, Kareem, James Worthy, Jerry West and other past laker greats, just to see whats up with them.
Shoot, there was a piece on some other blog about the Lakers equipment guy, which was interesting.
These are OUR lakers, we crave information about them, from them.

Just a humble request . . . Thanks

By the way, I am certainly in favor of Braveheart having his hair

TERRORIFY YOUR OPPONENTS, BRAVEHEART!

TEACH THEM FEAR!

GO LAKERS!

Taliq,

BK's not bald. He's balding. He's making a choice to shave his head because being bald is a choice; balding is not.

Women like men who choose their hairstyle, as opposed to men who have their genetics choose their hairstyle for them.

BK knows that, and, ergo, the bald head.

Me? My genetics do not force me to have to make that choice!

GO LAKERS!

K's,

You guys really have the best job ever.

The shrimp has a cool gig too...

Good morning LAL friends!
It's GAME DAY!!!
AK/BK: I'll underwrite the IPO when you want to go bigtime!

GO LAKERS!

Is it amusing that a Lakers blog have a link to Lakers Vs Celtics and the NBA Playoff video?

That was such an awesome game. Still is somewhat good. We need a '08 version!

K Brothers,

Is it your goal to eventually become another ubitquitous sports television talking head?

Because, if so, you two would probably do a good job of it. You're well-spoken and present yourselves with confidence.

GO LAKERS!

Is it because the KBros lacked "PR" with their peers? I have not heard them being mentioned on "Loose Cannons" or any of the 570 AM sports talk shows. They appear on the show of John Ireland 710AM as a cameo appearance only with soundbites of few seconds. They are not being quoted as experts like this guru, Bacarro. Well, of course their name recognition here in the Southland do not strike a chord in the same level of Jim Hill, Fred Roggan or Steve Hartman. If you ask a laker fan on the street who do not subscribe to Lakers Blog, if they know the K-Bros? They might associate them to KMart. If that is the case, we need someone to connect the K-Bros to Hollywood. We have some hollywood people here in the blog like VMan or perhaps get invited on Jay Leno show and talk about the surging Lakers and the characters here in Lakers Blog, there you are.... for name recognition that will be reflected in the Q ratings.

Why is it that any video of an animal set to the "Benny Hill Theme" instantly becomes 'must-see-TV'?

I mean, you could a put a sea slug to "The Benny Hill Theme" and it would become down-right hypnotic.

There's something oddly unholy about that.

I think if President Bush played "The Benny Hill Theme" at the beginning and end of his press conferences and whilst greeting foreign leaders, people would probably take him a lot more seriously.

GO LAKERS!

I casually remember in the eigthties when the Lakers romped the playoffs with 15-0 record in the Western Conference. That could happen. At that time, the Eastern sportscasters were all talk about the Celtics, Sixers, Bucks and nobody was talking about the Lakers. Magic and Kareem never boasted about their accomplishments until the job is done.

Perhaps, the best statement given in yesterday's thread came from Rocky of San Diego, he said:

********************************************************

"This Laker team is on the verge of something special and everyone knows it. The team needs to stay humble and continue to execute. Go Lakers!"

Posted by: Rocky | March 08, 2008 at 05:46 PM

*************************************************************

IMHO, it is best to stay quiet and just let the ball rolls as we win one game at a time. If we win, we celebrate, if other contenders lose just be HUMBLE and move on. For fans who grew up with Smush-Kwame-Cook and alligned the Laker tradition to that level, it would be a euphoric feeling to have series of victories and led up 40 pts. against helpless Clippers or T'Wolves and immediately chest stomping declare the Lakers are Champions in advance. Nope!!! not good to belittle other teams. Supposing it doesn't happen then it ruins your forecasting and expectations. At the same time, we are also giving other teams some posters for their bulletins on this attitude of these Lakers. When you are a dynasty team, you don't have to announce it, everyone is aware of those achievements, SILENCE is the best stance but take care of that image.

AK/BK

In remembering the KTLA piece, it's remarkable there was no fit of jealous rage from Mike T over your close encounter with Jackie Johnson. He was capable of restraint.

Jon K, Taliq-

I'm afraid I'm just bald. If I let the hair grow out, I look like Gallagher. Such is life. Started happening pretty early for me, so I've been able to get used to it. No worries!

BK
