I was going to write a little about the Grizzlies...

But I think you'll be more interested in this: As if the Lakers needed any more bad news out of Wednesday's loss to Charlotte, it seems Derek Fisher sustained a partial tear of a tendon in his right foot during the first quarter.  Normally, it would take six to eight weeks of rest to clear up the problem.  Obviously, the Lakers don't have that, so Fish will try to play through the pain, starting tonight.  It's also worth noting that LO was sent home from shootaround today because of an upper respiratory problem.

More on all of this to come, for sure.

Regarding the game?  Some thoughts:  The Grizzlies have won five road games all season, have Mike Miller, Rudy Gay, and not a whole lot else, and while the Grizzlies are the type of crappy-but-bouncy-and-athletic team that can give the Lakers trouble, it's precisely because they just lost to another one of those on Wednesday that I don't see it happening tonight.

These guys at 3 Shades of Blue, a Grizzlies Blog, have a preview of the game.  I'm not sure I agree with everything in there, but hey, nobody's perfect.

George's son has to step up now. I hope Javaris plays well tonight.

This vodoo doll thing is getting serious.Anyone here know any shamans that can smoke out who has been putting the injury hex on the Lakers?

Iam glad that Kobe is still not talking..isnt that what a leader does...it takes the pressure off the rest of the team..Kobe is also teaching the younger players on how to get calls in the future and have the refs on your side....Also by Kobe always taking responsibility when he has a bad game, that also teaches the younger players accountabilty. Now if Kobe can teach his younger players how to play TEAM ball and Team defense he should win the mvp with no problem!!!

GO lakers

GO lakers

Noooooooooooooooooo not Derek :(

My only question is, how early will Faith declare that the game is in the refrigerator?

BK,

Another injury? Who would have thought? This entire team needs to be put on liquid sea minerals. LOL.

Go, Fish. Farmar - now is the time you better step up. No more slacking on D. Take the ball to the rim. Take the mid-range. Lay off the 3's unless you are smoking. Take care of the ball.

Tom

You have GOT to be kidding me!

WE ARE THE LOS ANGELES LAKERS, AND WE WILL PERSEVERE! WE HAVE ONLY WARRIORS ON OUR ROSTER, AND OUR WORK THIS SEASON HAS JUST BEGUN!!

Deep breaths, positive energy.

Open Letter to Pig Miller

I believe sir that you are a undercover troll working for the Phoenix Funs? Answer the question please without spin please, you have been placed under surveillance.

OK, Sasha and Jordan, step up to the plate!

IN the name of all that is Holy and the LA Lakers...

Are our people made of freaking TISSUE PAPER??

Kudos to Fish for sucking it up and playing through it- Hopefully it doesn't affect his play a great deal. at least it's not a hand issue.

And the hits just keep on coming...

Oh no!!!!! Mother F!!!!!

I have one thing to say about all these injuries:

#$*&#($*&#(*$&#($*)@(*#)(@(*&!

this season is just not meant to be...

...the injury bug resides in LA(sigh)

No wonder why Fish and Kobe are the captains because they can play through pain and injury. Say what you will about them but give them credit for that. Go Lakers!!!

BK,

What are some of the things you disagree with in the Griz game preview? I hope one them is that PJ admitted that Andrew won't return until the playoffs. Please say that ain't so.

what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

when will this bug end???

well this would really make things interesting....

Hornets lose in Boston tonight and still have to play in Toronto, Orlando and Miami to finish their road trip. Suns beat the Sixers. Lakers MUST take care of business at home, period. Go Lakers!!!

I'm a crime fighter, not a criminal.

I'm no troll.

Consider this the last response to that question, Troll Patrol.

In the name of all that is holly ....

If Cal Ripkin was on the F'n team he'd go down.

One more injury and we get two x-rays for the price of one...

We'll see what all the flip floppin analysts have to say now after the Celtics blow out the Hornets by 20. They make me sick with their constant butt kissing of CP3 and LeBron. No doubt all the KG lovers will come out in full effect in regards to the MVP. KG himself has said that Paul Pierce is the MVP of their team. Lakers must settle the arguments and questions on the court. The Lakers are really in control of their own destiny. Go Lakers!!!

As I said before we should have rested Fish and save him for playoffs. I said he could get injured and sure enough here he is playing injured while getting ready for playoffs and seeding.
Not the time for this.

But Fish has heart so pray for the best.

I'm a crime fighter, not a criminal.

I'm no troll.

Pig

Truth be said. Amen to you.
The Troll patrol, Evil Cartman or whatever they /he calls them/his selvse/self need to just go away and fade away as any real trolls like that should do.

More Laker hate being spewed out on NBATV by Roy Johnson and Rick Kamla. Time for the Lakers to put up so these fools can shut up!!! I don't mind criticism, but blasting a team that's near the top of the tough WC for one bad loss is ridiculous!!! These guys make me sick with their biased analysis. The Lakers with a win will be in a virtual tie with the Hornets and their bigs will be returning soon. Go Lakers!!!

GO LAKERS!!!
D-Fish will do what he can which might mean getting some rest.................they need to start big tonight.

LO looks under the weather from the TV pre-game shots. But I predict a big game for him.

And a Mihm sighting - WOO HOO!
