Xodus,
yea I tried to post that earlier....
"KWAME BROWN?!!!! KWA-ME BROWN!!!!" ... lol
On a personal level, I wish Kwame Brown the best. I hate him as a player and hope he doesnt let his basketball failures characterize his life. Hopefully he'll be a better man (And millionaire!) because of it!

Wow. How much difference of a vibe is there this year then at the same time last year?
Posted by: DavyJonze | February 01, 2008 at 07:44 PM
wow, just watched channel 9 wrap-up of the game. Kobe was in the exceptionally good mood. I am so happy to see him like that. I guess he really liked the trade :)))

Xodus, that video was hilarious!!!

Thanks, Kwame, for your efforts. I hope you find your "voice" in Memphis. Take care, and God speed.

Okay, Mitch, you're almost done. We just have one more slacker to trade, and his name rhymes with Nuke Falton.

As I previously stated, the Lakers will go 6-3, with losses to Detroit, New Jersey, and Miami.

There is joy in Laker Nation tonight. The force is in balance. We dedicate this day to our friend Mamba24. We are thinking about you tonight. May the force be with you.

Korey,
lol. A lot of people hate Stephen A, not me. I love him. I love hearing his takes on his least favorite players. And I love how he says their names. Kwa-meh BROWN!! Sl-AVA Med-VEDENKO! lol

BK,
>>>If Toronto had a true post presence, they'd be a much, much different team.
You mean like Pau Gasol? Someone like that?
Oh yeah, I forgot. WE'VE GOT HIM!

Stephen A. Smith is ruthless...oh I love his attitude...But boy do I hope Kwame wasn't listening to that interview cause his feelings could be seriously hurt...it was too funny...you gotta love Stephen A.

LTLF,
I was about to post the EXACT SAME THING to BK. Great minds think alike brother.
I'm about a six pack in right now and just getting started. Today is a good, no great, day in Lakerville. I feel like LakerTom on ecstacy right now.

You'd REALLY sign Kwame for $4M or $5M?

Korey,
My words exactly. I've always wanted Kwame Brown to succeed, even at Washington. I like the guy, but, man, I am so glad he's gone.
I hated Smush Parker and was glad he was gone, but I spent a hell of a lot less time screaming at the television and throwing my hands up in disgust watching Smush Parker than I did Kwame Brown. So many times I stood there watching him and I'd say to myself, "What the hell is he doing?"
Unbelievable.
I actually hope that good karma hits the Memphis Grizzlies and Javaris Critterion develops as a player and they improve as a team. You have no idea how much relief this trade brings me.
Things are going to be better than okay.
I really hope that Pau Gasol is open to coaching from Kareem Abdul-Jabaar (which he should as a person of some intelligence) and former defensive specialist center, Phil Jackson. We could see great improvement in Pau Gasol, which would be fantastic.
We gave up Marc Gasol, but we still have Sun Yue waiting in the wings.
Remember a couple years ago when 80% of this blog was screaming for Mitch Kupchack's head? Remember?
This is the reason why The Logo's Student is the Lakers' GM and we're bloggers.
This is the reward for those of us who held fast and kept the faith.
Good.
GO LAKERS!

James Worthy said Kobe pushed the front office into this and that's hard to argue with. His method was wrong, period, but his challenge lit a fire under Andrew and pushed Mitch into doing SOMETHING.
Take that Kevin McHale.
Posted by: Vman | February 01, 2008 at 06:29 PM
Vman,
Yep, I agree. The Bulls could have had Gasol (as the times just reported) for PJ Brown and Nocioni but the owner didn't want to go 8 mill over the lux tax.
Wow.
We won, and the Bulls lost because the Bulls simply didn't have a player of Kobe's clout demanding this happen. Simply put, Kobe made this happen.
No way would Buss go this far over the lux tax without Kobe's summer demands. No way.
Thank Dr. Buss, thank Mitch and thank Kobe.
Whattya think about Kobe's summer demands now, naysayers? Huh? Those "crybaby" demands just brought us one of the best Laker teams in history.
Still a lot to prove, I know, but this team is stacked!

With the roll Mitch is on, watch out for Sun!

I still cant believe the Lakers turned their 2 late 2007 draft picks and Kwame into Pau Gasol.
I would never have been able to do this because I would have traded Kwame a long time ago.
Mitch is a much better poker player than me. Give him props.
He held onto his chips until the moment came around, then BAM!
