They're trying to get Pau to play on Sunday.
Posted by: #4 | February 01, 2008 at 05:13 PM
thank god Mitchell is not coaching. He might let Kobe go for 81 again

Nah, nah, nah, nanahnanah, nanahnanah Good bye! (to Kwame Brown that is)
Wow, man oh man, look how energetic the Lakers are playing now that they don't have Kwame "All State" Brown in the middle. Gasol, Bryant, Bynum, Fish and Odom is one hell of a starting lineup. We may just be drinking champaigne and smoking the kind this June with a 15th banner.
Way to go Mitch!

I love Jerry West for somehow making this deal happen and I truly want to apologize to Cupchak.
This is perhaps one of the best deals in the recent past and I truly am happy for this glorious trade as I believe EVERY laker fan is except one. (even that one i'm sure can't REALLY argue about this one..)
GO LAKERS!!!

EKO
He'll be good to go on Sunday against the Wizards. It'll be interesting to see how Phil plays this because we only have one day off in between tonights game and the next one so I think Ronny will start again just because we dont want to get off to a bad start. In fact, he might start a couple before Pau takes that spot. But Pau will mos def get a good load of mins. Plus, you never know, Phil might throw him in their right away though I personally don't think that's a good idea.

#4,
"PAU!!!! Mother Fathering PAU GASOL!!
Sorry had to let that out."
I totally understand you brother... that is how I felt when I woke up to hear the good news...
even if Pau has back problems, he is still better than Kwame.
Pau can play with a brace and on a wheelchair -- he'll still catch more balls than Kwame...
but anwyas, thank you Kwame for your contributions -- your expiring contract really was a blessing...
seriously though, good luck Kwame.. we only hope u the best..
GO LAKERS!!!

Laker Lover,
Nope.
GO LAKERS!

Boy, feel that energy of that Toronto crowd!
(Don't you get the feeling that they're all sitting there thinking, "I don't get it. It's not hockey.")
I don't think Toronto deserves a team.
GO LAKERS!

Amazing_Happens ,
Definitely you are right about Gunner.. Yesterday I told him that if we're doing well he's not around here but when this Bynum and Ariza getting injured and we started losing he's back. Damn, fellow.. But I do like him being around..
Posted by: | February 01, 2008 at 05:25 PM
Whoa! Nice one Lamar! That's what I'm talking about!
GO LAKERS!
Posted by: Jon K. | February 01, 2008 at 05:25 PM
Nice hustle Lamar!
Posted by: Tsiry | February 01, 2008 at 05:27 PM
Tushar,
thanks, yeah i totally agree but obviously it's hard to say what Phil will do. I'd like him to come off the bench, though i think Phil will give him plenty of PT anyway. Hopefully this back pain we're hearing of isn't too much of an issue.
I love the possibilities with the line ups when the team get's healthy - so many options now
Posted by: EKO | February 01, 2008 at 05:29 PM
Kobe's hot. He's going 50+ I think...
Posted by: trio | February 01, 2008 at 05:29 PM
Go Kobe!
Go Lakers!
Posted by: Faith | February 01, 2008 at 05:31 PM
I'm gonna say it again: I love Kobe Bryant. How many dunks in this game???
Posted by: Tsiry | February 01, 2008 at 05:32 PM
Kobe is shooting too much!
Posted by: Amazing_Happens | February 01, 2008 at 05:32 PM
what an efficient 31pts for Kobe. He's only missed 5 shots (3 of them 3's)
good stuff. if raps get cold this game's OVER!
Posted by: EKO | February 01, 2008 at 05:34 PM
Fish's got to make those shots.
Posted by: Faith | February 01, 2008 at 05:34 PM
there ya go Fish!
Championship feel!
Posted by: Faith | February 01, 2008 at 05:34 PM
Radman is driving nicely today... it will serve him well and set up his 3 point shot better if he continues to be a threat driving.
Posted by: Amazing_Happens | February 01, 2008 at 05:40 PM
Ronny most underrated
Posted by: Amazing_Happens | February 01, 2008 at 05:41 PM
Kobe= God
lol
Posted by: Xodus | February 01, 2008 at 05:42 PM
How can Kobe be possibly shooting too much when it is he who is saving us from getting our butts waxed?
Posted by: LakerGurl | February 01, 2008 at 05:45 PM
lol Xodus.
Nba, where KOBE happens.
Posted by: Faith | February 01, 2008 at 05:46 PM
Lakers are in control of the game.
Keep doing the things that got them the lead, and they will be fine.
Posted by: Amazing_Happens | February 01, 2008 at 05:46 PM
Whew, I thought we gonna start the 4th behind. Great shot Kobe!!!!!! Let's play 4th more intensity.
Posted by: trio | February 01, 2008 at 05:46 PM
"will trade the leafs for kobe"
lol, now thats funny.
Posted by: Tushar 24/7 | February 01, 2008 at 05:48 PM
Xodus,
OMK(obe) haha.
Posted by: Faith | February 01, 2008 at 05:48 PM
kobe stop taking every shot = raptors on a 9-0 run.
kobe starts shooting again lead is back to 7.
ANYONE THAT CALLS KOBE A BALLHOG IS A MORON
Posted by: LAKERDAWG | February 01, 2008 at 05:48 PM
In the Memphis paper (Commercial Appeal) some of the readers think Juan Carlos Navarro is headed to the Lakers next, since he only came to play with Pau. Do we need Navarro? Isn't he a shooting guard?
Posted by: rdlee | February 01, 2008 at 05:48 PM
DANG KOBE THAT WAS SICKKK

For those wanting a laugh, listen to Stephen A. Smith talk about Kwame Brown:

Sometimes kobe is a ballhog but tonight the kid is hot. He should keep on shooting. If kobe is hot than there is no problem with him taking alot of shots.
Posted by: jon | February 01, 2008 at 05:52 PM
Anyone else notice Kobe's swagger tonight? I might be nuts, but I swear it looks like the exact same body language and attitude during our 3peat era. I have a gut feeling deep inside, 24 knows Kupchak built a powerhouse again and he's the ringleader so his demeanor reflects that he KNOWS he'll be getting another ring wearing Purple and Gold.... ahhhhhhhhh compared to how I felt last Summer, life is good, God wears Laker Throwback jersey's...
Posted by: complex brotha | February 01, 2008 at 05:52 PM
C'mon Ref don't take this game away from us..
Posted by: trio | February 01, 2008 at 05:56 PM
man everyone is hot tonight, and kobe is playing great.
Posted by: jon | February 01, 2008 at 05:57 PM
MVP! MVP!
Posted by: Faith | February 01, 2008 at 05:58 PM
If Toronto had a true post presence, they'd be a much, much different team.

The Lakers are sending a message to the league:
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Posted by: Amazing_Happens | February 01, 2008 at 05:59 PM
Raptors doesn't know what to do. Our guys shoots well. If only we're consistent of our shots, we are up in the west right now.
Posted by: trio | February 01, 2008 at 05:59 PM
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Radman, what a clown!
Posted by: Tsiry | February 01, 2008 at 06:01 PM
lol Fatih
Posted by: Xodus | February 01, 2008 at 06:02 PM
They also seem to really miss the production Garbajosa was giving them when healthy and effective. Too many jumpshots.

Toronto needs Kwame.
Ooh Burn (from that 70s show)
haha, jk.
You know I love you Kwame. Thanks for the memories.
Posted by: Faith | February 01, 2008 at 06:03 PM
Lakergurl - sarcasm.
I think Kobe is doing just fine.
Not to get all Vic the Bric, but I can just feel a different energy out there. I feel it in my bones.
One game at a time.
This team is improving every game.
I loved the Kobe - Sasha exchange - "you take it " "No, you take it"
Posted by: Amazing_Happens | February 01, 2008 at 06:04 PM
KOBE KOBE KOBE!!!!!
Posted by: Tsiry | February 01, 2008 at 06:06 PM
And man alive, do they leave the lane wide freakin' open.
BK
Posted by: Brian Kamenetzky | February 01, 2008 at 06:06 PM
Kobe is very efficient tonight and the Lakers are sharing the ball very well. You can tell Kobe doesn't want to lose this game tonight. Man, they had the game last night against the Pistons, but oh well. Go Lakers!!!
