I'm excited as everyone else (except for one obvious individual who shall
remain nameless) about the trade. I really thing Pau will fit well into our
system. This trade always made the most sense out of all the proposed
trade scenarios. Does Mitch have one more rabbit to pull out of his hat?
We shall see.
C'mon Lakers! I feel a 50 point game for Kobe coming on.
Goodluck team! Time to hit the freeway and catch the LA feed. Had to check in for a quick peek! AK hold a note up for Kobe and tell him since were short handed so its okay to go for 82 tonight!
Lakers are looking pretty good right now with nice passing for easy baskets. They need to run the Raptors off the three point line though and attack the basket on the offensive end. We need balance in scoring tonight. The Raptors team look like a bunch of lightweights with all their players looking rail thin.
Ronny is playing some nice D tonight. He already has a couple of blocks and is doing a pretty good job on Bosh. Lakers must run them off the three point line and force them into the paint where the Predator(Turiaf)is roaming.
Stu (or was it Joel) made a comment about how Kobe is playing with tons
of energy... my response, "Yeah, he feels a lot lighter without the albatross
that is Kwame hanging around his neck".
Sasha!! Finally looks like he belongs on the court. Glad he skipped the Euro championships (he was invited on for slovenian national team) to work on his game.
loved the 1st half. Kobe seems re-energized knowing he will soon have some legit help when Bynum and Ariza return and Gasol suits up. If not for Bargnani being left open on the 3 pt line, lead coulda been much bigger. Hope Fish can find a groove in the second half.
By the way does anyone know when Pau will actually get to start playing?
sucks being so short handed tonight
It's hard to concentrate on this game ... my mind keeps drifting to thoughts of Pau Gasol ... I like everyone on this team now ... I don't hate Lamar Odom so much ... I helped a Grandma cross the street today.... Have you ever noticed how many birds there are in the sky, and how many flowers there around us? ...
Andrew and Brian Kamenetzky are contributing writers to ESPN The
Magazine and ESPN.com, and co-authored Fishing on the Edge, the autobiography of 2003 Bassmaster Classic champion Mike Iaconelli, bass fishing's bad boy. While both grew up in St. Louis without NBA
basketball, Andrew became a die hard Lakers fanatic after moving to L.A. to attend USC. That he managed to find a job requiring him to obsess over his favorite team, the same activity that prompted him to waste time while working other jobs, is pretty incredible. As for Brian, his baptism into pro hoops fandom has been provided by the "All Lakers, All The Time" citizens of Los Angeles. Beats the hell out of covering the Bucks.

With the NBA playoffs approaching, Lakers tickets are this month's hot item. Dodgers tickets and Angels tickets are also in high demand with another season of MLB baseball underway.
Maybe the news will pump them up tonight short handed.

Good start: Kobe's 4 for 4, 8 pts. A blocked shot there by Turiaf. The dunk by Odom off Radman's pass.
Go Lakers!

An Mbenga sighting? I'd like to see if he can get better production than Kwame.

Oh that's right, he'ill only show up if the Lakers play badly.
So far so good. The lights are on, and the cockroaches are staying away.
Toronto doesn't really play much D, eh?

I haven't seen Gasol play too much. Isn't he just a hairier version of Mihm? And does anyone know how his injuries have been healing?
Either way, change is always exciting. Now, do Phil and Tex Winter have "la habilidad para explicar el triangulo en espanol"?

How does this www.channelsurf.net work?
Posted by: Laker Lover | February 01, 2008 at 05:00 PM
Marty,
sorry dude but that's an insult to Gasol haha, jk. He's no Kobe, as we can all see (he's ballin!) but he's a very good player.
He can shoot over you, he can shoot from the inside, and when so inclined he's a very good shot blocker.
Posted by: Faith | February 01, 2008 at 05:00 PM
Bad shooting night for Fish so far... hopefully it'll turn around for him in the
2nd half.
BTW, as others have noticed, that Kobe kid is pretty good.
