I second that DTC.
Everyone's talking about missing Andrew. I miss our D. ANd yes we can play D without Drew.
Freakin effort!

Kwame's defense is under-recognized but overrated. You can't be a defensive specialist without cleaning the glass.
Not that I mind. if he grabs a rebound history proves there's a good chance it'll just get knocked out of his small, small hands.
Posted by: AndrewT | January 14, 2008 at 08:50 PM
Look at the rebounds department!
If we lose this game, we miss Bynum's rebound!
Posted by: shaggy | January 14, 2008 at 08:51 PM
Shoot Kobe shoot.
I'm tired of this pathetic effort.
Posted by: Faith | January 14, 2008 at 08:51 PM
Dammit.
Posted by: PhxLkrFan | January 14, 2008 at 08:51 PM
Somebody has to give Kobe a rest and let him chill out to finish the 4th.
Who is gonna step up and give us a nice 10 pt burst without Kobe?
Posted by: Korey | January 14, 2008 at 08:52 PM
This game is hard to watch. I want Andrew back!
Posted by: Ben Goldberg | January 14, 2008 at 08:53 PM
I don't know if I can watch the fourth quarter.
Posted by: PhxLkrFan | January 14, 2008 at 08:54 PM
Kobe looks dog-tired right now.
Posted by: Bzar | January 14, 2008 at 08:54 PM
I'm done for the night.
This is the crappiest effort of the season. No excuses. Not having Drew gives you a free pass to play crappy defense.
Unacceptable!
Posted by: Faith | January 14, 2008 at 08:54 PM
new espy category, funniest play of the year, Kwame Brown dribbling the ball off of his knee before it hits the floor.
Posted by: jon | January 14, 2008 at 08:54 PM
Kobe needs to realize he's not going to beat teams on his own. RUN THE OFFENSE! At the least we'll slow the game down so the Sonics won't be able to score so much in transition.
Posted by: Xodus | January 14, 2008 at 08:55 PM
*not having Drew does not give you an excuse...
Posted by: Faith | January 14, 2008 at 08:55 PM
Somebody has to tell Kobe that the lakers cannot win with him taken 40 shots a game. That is just rudicolous!! A laker player should smack him upside the head!!
Posted by: keen observer | January 14, 2008 at 08:55 PM
I second Bzar's lineup...Farmar, Crit, Kobe, Ariza and Turiaf...we need to go quick, since our bigs suck...
Posted by: CornerJ | January 14, 2008 at 08:57 PM
I want to force myself not to watch the Lakers until March when Bynum comes back but the fan in me is going to make me watch. You can see how much we miss
Andrew Bynum out there....we're hurting, bad. Real Bad...Thanks Mike T...you are such the expert! Jacka**
Posted by: Rhon Salmon | January 14, 2008 at 08:57 PM
on a positive note...only 5 TOs and dallas is currently losing
Posted by: Kelly | January 14, 2008 at 08:57 PM
Kwame has no natural ability to rebound. He has bad position, he's not agressive, has horrible hands and no lift (injury?).
Wow. Can you imagine having Caron instead of him? Wow.
That trade has to be the worst public relations blunder since the Dodgers stopped selling the Kool a Cool.

Words can't describe how bad the Lakers are playing on D. How many second chance points do the Sonics have? At least half of their points must be second chance points.
Posted by: Ben Goldberg | January 14, 2008 at 08:59 PM
Big three from the Farm to stem the tide.
Posted by: bronxlakerfan | January 14, 2008 at 08:59 PM
I'm still waiting for that Detroit Piston level defense that Mike T said Kwame would provide
Posted by: moko | January 14, 2008 at 09:00 PM
An finally the LAKERS are back to a bunch of LOSSEERRS!
Posted by: shaggy | January 14, 2008 at 09:00 PM
Mike will never admit he's wrong. He'll find some way to pass the poor defense off on someone else.
Posted by: Xodus | January 14, 2008 at 08:47 PM
Xodus,
It doesn't matter what he thinks or posts because everyone can see the truth for themselves. The Sonics have scored with ease in the paint tonight. Lakers can still get the win. Andrew's value to this team will rise to astronomical heights if the Lakers falter in the next two months. I hope they don't falter. Go Lakers!!!

Get off Kwame and criticize Odom
Posted by: albert | January 14, 2008 at 09:01 PM
AK,
I think the Lakers were planning on Kwame on being the overpaid Wafer. The comedy is high priced, but season tickets have followed. Getting rid of Cook and Evans were to free up more caps space to watch more missed dunks, layups and freethrows.
Posted by: Maleke | January 14, 2008 at 09:02 PM
Sounds stupid, but I had this happen in pickup hoops game a few years ago. A scrub got tangled up with my leg, and when I went down, my kneecap was on the side of my leg. It popped in and was fine about 4 weeks later. He's going to be fine-rested and ready for the playoffs. They gotta play .500 while he's gone.
Posted by: | January 14, 2008 at 09:02 PM
Farmar's the only guard we've got that gets everyone involved. It may not be enough now, but the kid really knows how to run the offense.
Posted by: CornerJ | January 14, 2008 at 09:03 PM
Why do you blame Kobe? He is 15 out 32, almost 50%, Lamar 3 of 10, Luke 1 of 4, is it better?
Posted by: LAL_Fan` | January 14, 2008 at 09:04 PM
Crit will learn to go up and under on those layups against bigs. Either that or float the shot over them. Lamar got followed on the previous possession. Kobe has 32 shots in 3 Q's. Not a healthy ratio compared to the rest of the team.
Posted by: bronxlakerfan | January 14, 2008 at 09:04 PM
Where is Mike T?
He mentioned about Kwame having to play in tough schedule, since Andrew got the easy schedule...
I wonder if Seattle is too tough for his sweetheart??!!
Posted by: moko | January 14, 2008 at 09:05 PM
Kwame is still injured ! Does any real *expert* listen to the telecast ? Lakers are on the back to back and the biggest loser Odom does not do anything , we are in grave trouble in the next 2 months
Posted by: albert | January 14, 2008 at 09:05 PM
J-Crit! Playing with energy!
Posted by: Bzar | January 14, 2008 at 09:06 PM
On several possessions Kobe still pulled up for a jumper with two people on him and Kwame rolling to the hoop. That doesn't happen when Drew is in there because either Kobe will have a one on one shot or he'll lob it up there for Drew to catch and finish. They can't do that at all with Kwame. Bench giving us a lift right now in the fourth.
Posted by: Nemaia Faletogo | January 14, 2008 at 09:06 PM
kobe has to shoot because no one has the guts to too the shot..
all we need is defence!!!!!
Posted by: darkhangelsk | January 14, 2008 at 09:06 PM
Braveheart knows how to give a hard foul. I wish he'd teach Kwame.
Posted by: bronxlakerfan | January 14, 2008 at 09:07 PM
LAL_Fan which player in the league takes 32 shots in a quarter? That is just so disrespectful to your team mates.
Even the worst teams in the league do not have one player taking that many shots!!
Posted by: keen observer | January 14, 2008 at 09:07 PM
Offense from Kwame? What the?
Posted by: Ben Goldberg | January 14, 2008 at 09:07 PM
Nemaia,
Well I've never cared what he says anyway. And I don't think most people on this blog do at this point.
Posted by: Xodus | January 14, 2008 at 09:08 PM
Kwame is piece of garbage, I don't belive we can get anything for his expiring contract. Just useles on both ends of the floor...
Posted by: LAL_Fan | January 14, 2008 at 09:08 PM
Kwame with a nice move for a bucket. Hey, when He's good I'll say so.
Posted by: bronxlakerfan | January 14, 2008 at 09:08 PM
Damn. Terminator, the Sarah Cronicles is on.
Posted by: troy | January 14, 2008 at 09:10 PM
Jordan made a great drive and kick play to find Trevor for the 3 with the shot clock running down. Sweet!
Posted by: bronxlakerfan | January 14, 2008 at 09:10 PM
Another inspiring play from Lamar, who is next one on his target list? Kobe?
Posted by: LAL_Fan | January 14, 2008 at 09:11 PM
"First day of the rest of Lakers fans' lives? Well, at least the next eight weeks. Here we go..."
well written AK...
I am to Turiaf what Mike T is to Kwame
i will perform any sexual act there is upon him
Lets goooooo,
Love, Bret
Posted by: Bret | January 14, 2008 at 09:11 PM
man, Kwame is such a idiot, he has defence?????
Posted by: xk | January 14, 2008 at 09:11 PM
bronxlakerfan,
agree completely. if only that was the norm and not the exception..
COME ON LAKERS! gotta pull out the win.
Posted by: Kelly | January 14, 2008 at 09:11 PM
Odom is the sorriest loser I've seen. How could anybody expect him to become an all star I just dont get. He blocks his own defenders , puts his feet under shoots in the wrong time instead going to the basket , misses lay ups. Boy I'am MAD !!!
Posted by: albert | January 14, 2008 at 09:12 PM
ONE MORE TIME TO MAKE SURE MIKE T CAN HEAR - KWAME IS GARBAGE!!!
Posted by: LAL_Fan | January 14, 2008 at 09:15 PM
Why does Lamar continue to shoot threes? At least Kobe cleaned it up. And now what is this, no defense again?
Posted by: Ben Goldberg | January 14, 2008 at 09:15 PM
I guess Phil wasn't happy with the Bench Mob showing up the starters and getting a lead...
