Kobe tried to set Kwame up a couple of times but Kwame was standing still....not giving an angle for a bounce pass or a lob. Kwame needs to help free himself.

I feel the Lakers are really deflated because of the injury and then the second night of back to back. Plus they have won 6 games in a row and winning streaks are hard to maintain. I felt that even before Bynum wen out last night, they were still struggling a bit.

farmar running the squad!
Posted by: sixonezero | January 14, 2008 at 07:42 PM
I love the energy and disruption Farmar brings. We're going to need a lot of that over the next two months.
Posted by: Xodus | January 14, 2008 at 07:42 PM
Bench mob is doing a great job on defense to start the 2nd quarter!
Posted by: Bzar | January 14, 2008 at 07:42 PM
Lakers on a nice run with KB24 on the bench...Here come the Kobe haters on the blog
Posted by: Ed | January 14, 2008 at 07:42 PM
I love DFish, but Farmar completely changes the dynamic out there. And with Ariza and Ronny, we can run with ANYBODY. GO LAKERS!!!
Posted by: CornerJ | January 14, 2008 at 07:43 PM
2nd unit playing with some hustle. Turiaf is playing hard. Farmar is playing some ball and Ariza playing some nice defense. Go Lakers!!!

Second Unit: Bynum who?
Posted by: Faith | January 14, 2008 at 07:43 PM
BENCH MOB!!!!!! YEAH.

seems like Ariza got in to the Seattle play book. Dude is just everywhere.
Posted by: sixonezero | January 14, 2008 at 07:43 PM
HOLY BENCH!!!!
Posted by: PhxLkrFan | January 14, 2008 at 07:44 PM
The bench is giving a nice boost as they push the lead to nine. Jordan is playing strong.

i like what trevor does on the boards, even when he doesnt get the rebound he's usually in the mix of ittrying to tip it or tap it out. we need guys in there hungry to get rebounds. thats what is so great about bynum he gobbles the boards up. we need more rebound minded players.

Farmar.....in the house!!!!!!
Keep up the pressure....lock them up!
Drew....get better man!...come back stronger!

2nd unit playing with some good energy and hustle so far tonight, we need it. Starters seem a little sluggish, be we should be fine. Go Lakers!!!
Posted by: Nemaia Faletogo | January 14, 2008 at 07:45 PM
First time posting, I LUV THE BENCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: kbmj2423 | January 14, 2008 at 07:45 PM
Our new double-double machine -- Kwame-- 2 points 2 fouls. Nice!
Posted by: HmrHed | January 14, 2008 at 07:46 PM
Game 1 of potentially 27 games w/o Drew. I think we could get 18 wins until March 9th...although 14 would be nice. I don't think he'll be out 8 weeks. I'm saying 6....hoping 5. He is in MUCH better shape and MUCH younger. He also said last night he hasn't had problems with that knee before.

I'd like to see the Critter get time too. We could use his energy and athleticism and length.
Posted by: Xodus | January 14, 2008 at 07:47 PM
i dont mind that mental lapse by lamar to end the quarter, it shows that he realizes his three point shooting wasnt helping the team, and so he tried getting it to a great 3 shooter on our team
Posted by: andand | January 14, 2008 at 07:47 PM
Im loving Lamar tonight. Seems like hes looking to step it up. Watching him lead a fast break..no wonder GMs love his "gifts". to bad he doesnt like rip down the rim...but hes still a great passer. It will be interesting to see how Lamar handles this re-assignment as being the second guy. I dont care what people or Phil may have said, but Bynum was clearly the second option, the second banana on the team and Lamar led that transition just fine. But remember, Lamar was playing at an All-Star like level last season before he got hurt. If he can raise his level to that again, the Lakers will be more than fine because the role players all got better. That was sort of the hope this year. I dont think people thought Bynum would be that important this year.
I know Odom will be inconsistent, even during a single game..he might even choke later tonight...but if the Lakers go .500 and theyll be good for awhile.
By the way I saw Ronny down here at LMU the other day. The Gonzaga faithful really love the guy (alluding to the Ireland tidbit). Bunch of Turiaf jerseys in the crowd.

Thank God for the second unit!
GO LAKERS!

BK or AK....
You guys have stood next to Java. He's listed at 6'5". Is he really that tall? He looks much shorter on TV.
Posted by: bronxlakerfan | January 14, 2008 at 07:48 PM
mike T, to be fair to everyone, I believed you already done an evaluation with Bynum as our starting Center and now, let's evaluate Kwame this time for 10 games. What you think?
Posted by: trio | January 14, 2008 at 07:49 PM
It seems like Braveheart should start at Center until Bynumite and The Mihmster get back.
GO LAKERS!
Posted by: Jon K. | January 14, 2008 at 07:50 PM
BronxLaker,
At 5'8", every NBA player looks 6'5" to me. haha
Seriously though, I'm guessing Javaris is about 6'5". He looks the part, more or less.

Lakers are really pushing the ball with their second unit. Ronny is playing with a lot of energy. Lakers with only one TO thus far. Very good!
Posted by: bronxlakerfan | January 14, 2008 at 07:51 PM
could this be the game where all our bench mob scores in double figures??
Posted by: CBuck | January 14, 2008 at 07:52 PM
Time to play nelly ball ... laker fans allow me to introduce you to your new center .... Ronny Turiaf ...
Posted by: Taliq | January 14, 2008 at 07:52 PM

Random thought: God, I hope Rad Vlad is back and healthy soon. We need another big, and soon.
GO LAKERS!
Posted by: Jon K. | January 14, 2008 at 07:56 PM
wao, Sonics hitting everything from the outside today. I'm not that worried though, they'll cool down at some point, then they'll be in trouble
Posted by: DTC | January 14, 2008 at 07:57 PM
Java with a beautiful spin move. But they can't seem to get Szczerbiak under control. Overall, great minutes from the bench.
Posted by: bronxlakerfan | January 14, 2008 at 07:57 PM
IT WAS A 12 PT LEAD!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: PhxLkrFan | January 14, 2008 at 07:59 PM
Thanks AK....It's just that I know some players have been known to exaggerate their height! HaHa!

Kobe with back to back shots to regain the lead.
Posted by: bronxlakerfan | January 14, 2008 at 08:01 PM
Kobe tells Wally, "I can do that, too".
But seriously, somebody KNOCK WALLY DOWN! Just a good hard foul.
Posted by: Bzar | January 14, 2008 at 08:01 PM
Was Chris Mihm's injury LAST year from landing on Lamar Odom's foot? And was Kwame Brown's injury THIS year from landing on Lamar's foot?
I think so.
Lamar needs to take his foot to a Catholic priest and have it exorcized. Next thing we know, Braveheart will be cripple by the Nefarious Foot of Lamar!
GO LAKERS!
Posted by: Jon K. | January 14, 2008 at 08:03 PM
Bronx,
No worries. Obviously, The Critter could be 6'4". But I doubt he's much shorter than that.

Jon K.,
Mihm got hurt after getting dunked on by Chris Wilcox.
C'mon MAN!
Sounds like you are hating on Mr. Odom a lil too tough
