i think kobe has to really double his efforts tonight....he has to score at least 40 pts to cover the loss of drew that is at least of course if the other casts will not
step up...
yo guys, we still have Lamar and Fish - the Lakers have enough firepower for Kobe not to have to take 30 shots. Although.... Lamar looks as passive as ever to start the game
Call me crazy...but cant the Lakers just try to play their normal game and see what happens? Too much Kobe ball. I know its not like we want Kwame "involved" offensively like Bynum, but we need to at least create that threat. Also, having the offense more team oriented allows a guy like Luke Walton get more rhythm.
I mean last year the Lakers were winning and that was without Bynum, Sasha, Vlad, Farmar, or Ariza.
Correction. 3rd foul in less than 9. That guy wants to make basketball money for playing as little basketball as possible. We'd probably be better off just sitting Kwame or have him hand out the gatorade. Unless he drops a cup and slips on it.
I just want Kobe to take his shots within the offense. And Fisher needs to stop taking those pull up jumpers in transition. It's one thing if you have Bynum down there
cleaning up the boards, but we don't have that luxury now.
I think we all owe Mike T an apology. It's obvious that Kwame's defense is vastly superior to Drew's, and the team does a MUCH better job defensively with Kwame on the court.
Andrew and Brian Kamenetzky are contributing writers to ESPN The
Magazine and ESPN.com, and co-authored Fishing on the Edge, the autobiography of 2003 Bassmaster Classic champion Mike Iaconelli, bass fishing's bad boy. While both grew up in St. Louis without NBA
basketball, Andrew became a die hard Lakers fanatic after moving to L.A. to attend USC. That he managed to find a job requiring him to obsess over his favorite team, the same activity that prompted him to waste time while working other jobs, is pretty incredible. As for Brian, his baptism into pro hoops fandom has been provided by the "All Lakers, All The Time" citizens of Los Angeles. Beats the hell out of covering the Bucks.

I've still got good vibes about the boys this season... fingers are crossed for a parade, but I'll take a healthy Bynum first.

LOCK EM UP FELLAS!
LIGHTS OUT! GO LAKES!
Posted by: sixonezero | January 14, 2008 at 07:09 PM
Wizards went on a 23-6 run on the Celtics in the last 6 minutes of the fourth, in Boston, and took the win.
Since Mike T call them one of the only 3 structure ball teams, they have a losing record.
I guess the guy voodo all teams (intentionally or not), not only the lakers.

Kobe is off to a fast start....I'd love to see him try to get Kwame off with an easy bucket.
Posted by: bronxlakerfan | January 14, 2008 at 07:19 PM
Kobe's coming out gunning today. I'm not comfortable with this.
Posted by: Xodus | January 14, 2008 at 07:21 PM
C'mon, people...it's not the end of the world. Whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger. The Show will be all right.

We'll be ok.
Posted by: Faith | January 14, 2008 at 07:24 PM
Kobe wants to win and he's freaking out a bit. That's all. Things will calm down.
GO LAKERS!
Posted by: Jon K. | January 14, 2008 at 07:24 PM
especially when he is not making his shots
Posted by: DTC | January 14, 2008 at 07:25 PM
Kwame with a nice left..we need more of that.
Posted by: bronxlakerfan | January 14, 2008 at 07:25 PM
Check out the big brains on Kwame. 2nd foul in 7 minutes. I guess he wants to put Walton on the floor!
Posted by: Maleke | January 14, 2008 at 07:25 PM
If only we play some freakin D. AND LO STOP MISSING LAYUPS!
Posted by: Faith | January 14, 2008 at 07:26 PM

Put Ariza on Watson.
Stop the bleeding.
Posted by: Faith | January 14, 2008 at 07:28 PM
Kwame's a worthless fat-ass
Posted by: troy | January 14, 2008 at 07:28 PM
Where have I seen this offense before? Oh yeah, last year.
Oh, oh...our structured offense ain't workin'. Kwame with 3 fouls in the 1st quarter ain't gonna do it either.
Posted by: CornerJ | January 14, 2008 at 07:28 PM
Kwame tries to take a charge instead of trying for the block. Bad idea.
Posted by: bronxlakerfan | January 14, 2008 at 07:28 PM

No, the Lakers are NOT going to be okay. Lets stop fooling ourselves. We're in for a long losing streak.
Posted by: troy | January 14, 2008 at 07:30 PM
It looks like LO might have to play some 5 before this half is over.
Posted by: Bzar | January 14, 2008 at 07:30 PM

Luckily they changed one of the fouls on Kwame... he only has two.
Posted by: Bzar | January 14, 2008 at 07:32 PM
im so confused.
goes to show you how good chick hearn was. i dont think he made a mistake in 35 years.
Posted by: The Lake Show | January 14, 2008 at 07:32 PM
Stu is talking about Kwame and something that hurts. I can name quite a few things. Like watching him try to play - WHEN HEALTHY!!! blhhhh.
Posted by: Maleke | January 14, 2008 at 07:33 PM
Our D is pissing me off.
Play some Gdamn D!
Posted by: Faith | January 14, 2008 at 07:35 PM
Lakers transition D is god awful
Posted by: DTC | January 14, 2008 at 07:35 PM
the lakers arent playing D but their O is much more in rhythm now
Posted by: andand | January 14, 2008 at 07:35 PM
Ariza!!! The kid's like Plastic Man. His arms seem to have extenders on them for intercepting passes.
Posted by: CornerJ | January 14, 2008 at 07:36 PM
Laker defense needs to step up. No warm up jumpers like that one for Wally.
Posted by: bronxlakerfan | January 14, 2008 at 07:37 PM
It's gonna be a long time before Drew gets back. I might cry.
Posted by: PhxLkrFan | January 14, 2008 at 07:38 PM
That last play is one reason I question Lamar's intelligence. He had no time at all to swing it to another man to take the shot
Posted by: DTC | January 14, 2008 at 07:38 PM
i can't remember the last time an opponent outscored us in the first quarter
time to tighten up the D
Posted by: CBuck | January 14, 2008 at 07:39 PM
Seattle making Fish look old in there.
Posted by: sixonezero | January 14, 2008 at 07:39 PM
