Game Thread - Lakers at Hornets

The Hornets have had three days off, so they've had time to relax. Hopefully, they've used that time to stuff themselves with too much jambalaya.
Mmmm. Jambalaya.

C'mon Lakers! We need a total team defensive effort to pull out this win.
DO NOT leave Peja alone at the 3-point line.
I have a feeling this game's going to OVERTIME. And a surprise hero will
pull it out for the Lakers.

Chris Paul is actually a real fun guy to watch play. I remember a couple years ago when he used to run around Duke and UNC's defense and really pose fits. Hes a real competitor on the court. He seems a little A.I.-ish..but I go out on the limb and call him the next Isiah Thomas from what Ive seen from Isiah...anyone can call me out on that though...but you have to admit greatness when you see it. Hopefully the Lakers can contain him tonight!

Luke is short more often than not on those little jump shots in the lane
Posted by: Bzar | January 09, 2008 at 05:24 PM
Kobe's looking to dominate today.
Posted by: Xodus | January 09, 2008 at 05:25 PM
Freakin Luke.
Posted by: Faith | January 09, 2008 at 05:25 PM
mother effin luke needs to make those layups.

Great teamwork by Bynum and Kobe with the steak on Chandler. Drew does a great job bodying him and denying the position. As Chandler fights to do something, Kobe pokes the ball away. The end result is a putback by LO. Good stuff.

Posted by: needthagame | January 09, 2008 at 05:27 PM
Laker Show,
Paul is definitely a joy to watch. Except when he plays against us. haha.
Posted by: Xodus | January 09, 2008 at 05:27 PM
Steak...yum!
Posted by: Faith | January 09, 2008 at 05:28 PM
Bynum turned his ankle but he's okay. That boy is a MAN.
Posted by: Xodus | January 09, 2008 at 05:29 PM
Lake Show,
Good point. I have no problem acknowledging greatness unless they're punks.
Hopefully we hold him to a just a tinch of that greatness lol.
Posted by: Faith | January 09, 2008 at 05:29 PM
Xodus,
I can't even help finding Paul a joy to watch play against the Lakers. The dude is just incredible. I end up rooting for him to play great, but just lose. haha

There's no way we should lose to these guys. We have more weapons at more positions. So far, we're doing a good job on Peja. That's the key. No open 3's! Keep up the D!
Posted by: CornerJ | January 09, 2008 at 05:29 PM
Allright, i'll do it again:P

Go to the last page of the post, and then copy the mms-link(or the boss-link) into Windows Media Player. You have to be fast though, as every link only lasts for 2 min.

No Disrespect to the Walton family, but I think bringing Luke in with the Bench Mob and starting Trevor would be in our best interest. I just dont understand why PJ doesnt see it.

Rotations, rotations, rotations!
Posted by: Faith | January 09, 2008 at 05:31 PM
That should have been an offensive on West. He banged up LO.

I've got both David West and Chandler on my fantasy team, but I wouldn't shed a tear if they put up clunkers.
Posted by: Xodus | January 09, 2008 at 05:32 PM
Bynum twists ankle...Mike T.'s voodoo doll strikes!
If it was Kwame..he would have been rolling around still on the ground...that was some quick ups by Bynum...I didnt know he could jump and react so quickly.
Posted by: The Lake Show | January 09, 2008 at 05:34 PM
Bynum should be able to hit 30+ easy this game. They've got nobody that can stop him. Feed Baby!!!
Posted by: CornerJ | January 09, 2008 at 05:34 PM
Bynum screamin at his teammates from the back...calling the defense....that's very good to see.
Posted by: sixonezero | January 09, 2008 at 05:35 PM
Must say that I like what Bynum's doing. When there's a break in the game, he's allways talking to one of his teammates, pointing and (probably) seeking advice!
Nice 1st Q!
Posted by: Kristoffer in Norway | January 09, 2008 at 05:35 PM
complex brotha.
you and me both.
Posted by: Faith | January 09, 2008 at 05:35 PM
Xodus
I got those dudes on my fantasy squad too...im almost torn! ALMOST. HAHAHAHA
Posted by: sixonezero | January 09, 2008 at 05:36 PM
Bynum showing some nice post moves...and how about that baby hook of the glass? Damn boy you are becoming a monster!
Posted by: Bonez | January 09, 2008 at 05:36 PM
Great first quarter... pretty hard to stop CP3 for a whole quarter much less
a whole game. Hopefully no other Hornet will have a career game.
Posted by: Bzar | January 09, 2008 at 05:36 PM
Good first quarter but we've got to keep it up. The Hornets WILL make a run.
AK,
Yeah he's definitely a guy that's tough to root against. I can't believe I was more of a Deron Williams guy entering this season. I got sucked in by Deron's incredible playoff run. I'm not saying Deron's a slouch, but Paul is just incredible.
Posted by: Xodus | January 09, 2008 at 05:38 PM
Effing Kwame. He stinks.
Posted by: PhxLkrFan | January 09, 2008 at 05:38 PM
Its so funny in a strange way seeing Drew play now. I know I'm not going crazy, some of the footwork and moves he's making, were very similar to the exact same stuff Cap did in his latter years with the team. Last season, Bynum had a "herky jerky" way about his post moves. As if he himself "wasnt" sure which foot to pivot off of. Now, I'm seeing when Kareem was older and not running as fast down the court. The post moves he'd make were designed to get him the least amount of defender bangin as possible. He used his footwork back then, Drew seems like his fluidness is a combination of confidence and good coaching.
Posted by: complex brotha | January 09, 2008 at 05:39 PM
Lakers playing good team ball and hitting shots so far. They're doing a good job helping eachother out. Andrew should be 5 for 5 but his hook went in and out. 2nd unit has to give us something tonight.

I second Stu...gotta have separation right about now.

I love Ariza's athleticism. I don't dislike Walton as much as some people (ahem, Faith, lol) but there's no question that Ariza brings something very good to the table. His speed and athleticism is disruptive on D and he can make up for his poor jumper on hustle plays and driving.
Posted by: Xodus | January 09, 2008 at 05:43 PM
That's what I like to see from Jordan.
Enough dribbling, more passing.
Posted by: Faith | January 09, 2008 at 05:44 PM
