FARMAR Steals! gonna be a common announcement during the season.
Posted by: Jeff | November 20, 2007 at 04:37 PM
37-35 Lakers
Lakers got into foul trouble early and Pacers in the game thru FT
Lakers having a good Shooting % tonight.
Kobe looking to be aggressive early on. Lakers 3-3 from the trey...
and yup ...Farmar already has one steal
Posted by: KikosDad | November 20, 2007 at 04:43 PM
Bynum started tonight. I expect he will never come off the bench again. Lakers offense looks good through 1, but defense is suspect.

If Cook and Evans didn't travel with the team, then they knew about this yesterday morning? Wouldn't the press have known?

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Anybody has the links to the SOPCAST, TVU or the Radio Networks broadcasting the games. Kindly post them. Help a co-poster. Thanks.

We can't get any rebounds....
Pacers are scoring on 2nd chance points...I believe 20pts+

I say they package Walton and Ariza for Artest. (December 15)
And elbow George Karl and say hey, we’ll give Coby more minutes. Here’s Kwame in Feb 2008 give us Camby. You’ll get cap relief.
Starters : Fisher, Kobe, Odom, Turiaf, Camby
The Mob: Farmar, JC, Artest, Radman, Bynum
Fillers: Mihm, Coby & Sasha
Killing it for the 07-08!!!!!!!
Now I lay the pipe!!!!!!!!!!

agree will miss mo but not b. cook. nice to have another UCLA grad on the squad.
wish i watch the game.
st. louis sucks.
well the arch is pretty cool.
Posted by: sambosola | November 20, 2007 at 05:06 PM
Great! Kobe being Kobe. Sunk back to back threes on Daniel's face.
I love Bynum's offensive game tonight but he hasn't been able to stop Jeff Foster down the block.
I guess I do kind of miss Kwame's personal defense a little.
Posted by: Outsidergua | November 20, 2007 at 05:08 PM
Bryant has been outstanding tonight....
62-53 Lakers
He's looking to see a good balance between attacking/shooting and passing the ball.
sidenote: Vlade drive to the basket and was blocked by the RIM with no one beside him...he redeemed himself with a good lob pass to AB after that.
Posted by: KikosDad | November 20, 2007 at 05:08 PM
We're getting killeed on offensive rebounds we need to clean that up in the second half.

can people post some updates of whats going on in the game?
much appreciated

The Ariza for Cook trade is addition by substraction. Who needs a 6'10 creampuff like Brian Cook? The dude don't pay D and he don't rebound. Good riddens and don't let the door hit you in the butt on the why out. Now the downside. I loved Mo Evans style of play. Tough defense a fearless going to the hoop. I miss ya Mo.
Posted by: seal beach saul | November 20, 2007 at 05:12 PM
Kobe Bryant's on a roll. I've been waiting for a scoring outburst from Kobe. We just need to clean up the defensive glass better.

Posted by: Bonez | November 20, 2007 at 05:15 PM
What's the over/under on posts by Mike T screaming about how we gave up 60 something points in the first half (even though we're winning)?
I say 43.
Posted by: Andrew Z | November 20, 2007 at 05:17 PM
David Whang is the man!!!!!!
Posted by: du ma | November 20, 2007 at 05:18 PM
To #11
First half is over.
I started watching 4 minutes into the second quarter. Bynum is having his way in the Pacers Paint.
The bad news is that the Pacers bigs are having his way with him.
Kobe has been raping Marquis Daniels and Odom well Odom has had a very relaxed night.
You can't watch the game through the link that David Chang gave us?
Posted by: Outsidergua | November 20, 2007 at 05:18 PM
To those of u watching the game....how does the bench mob look? are they still playing the same?
Posted by: bobie | November 20, 2007 at 05:18 PM
Damn, the Lakers scored 71 points in the first half! Too bad they gave up 63. On the night the Lakers aren't hitting....the Lakers are in trouble.
The Lakers are 9-15 in 3-pointers.
The Pacers are 3-11 in the 3-pointers.
This is not good! I mean if the Lakers' defense was holding there's no way we give up 63-points.
I'm afraid to watch the live game.

whats with the KCAL 9 over an hour delay, how lame...
Posted by: Will Mack | November 20, 2007 at 05:20 PM
Wow!!! 71 points in 2 quarters only and the opponent is 63 pts. The game is being played without defense.. but what the heck..... lakers on fire tonight!
I'm excited for Trevor Ariza.... I like the guy! very decent player
Posted by: nonzki | November 20, 2007 at 05:21 PM
David,
Thank you.
GO LAKERS!
Posted by: Jon Kavulic | November 20, 2007 at 05:22 PM
71-63 Lakers at the half
it's getting to look like Mamba's show...26 pts
Pretty much a high scoring ball game...
Much of our problem was 2nd chance points that the Pacers were getting..
Odom can't get it going because of all 3 st*p*d fouls he committed. Turiaf is still out of it getting beat off the boards and so is Mihm...
Bynum looks like he's everywhere when he's on the floor. We're lucky they're not getting anything from JO tonight...
We just need to keep the intensity on defense and keep up the full-court press. The problem was they look like they get frustrated after all those (again) 2nd chance points. Lukes looks to be getting on the right place at the right time during a number of rebound plays but always get beaten by someone. I hope Turiaf can get he's groove back and get that intensity back.
We just need a little hustle from our guys. A little more emotion perhaps...
ARRGGGGHHHH!!!! Go LAKERS!!!!
Posted by: KikosDad | November 20, 2007 at 05:23 PM
Andrew Z,
I'm not screaming. I expected it, of course! Games like this are a 50-50 proposition. Games like this over a 10 game period is nothing more than 5-5 or 6-4 Lakers. I mean we can score the baskets...that's not the problem.

David Whang, thanks for your posting. The broadband feed is great. I am out of town and I am very glad to see the game. Lakers are a player or two away from contending. JO stock has dropped and the Pacers might be willing to trade him for a package starting with Kwame. That will get us a step closer to contending. Artest will also be a great pickup. Our greatest weakness is at the power forward slot. You need players to counter the likes of Duncan, Boozer, Dirk and Amare. We have an upgrade already at the point but we still need to stop the penetration. We have not been able to stop Parker and Chris Paul. We have the talent in Farmer and JC to pull that off. I hope they do. I said before the season that we needed Bynum to make Dwight like progress and we need Farmer to make Deron like progress for us to make an impact. Both have been close and we have to see more than nine games to note if that would be enough.
Posted by: Peter | November 20, 2007 at 05:25 PM
Mike T,
Gotta agree with you here, giving up 63 at the half is not pretty.
At least we're up 8 though, right?
We'll worry about the rest later.
I hate to use injuries as an excuse, but I believe that team defense and chemistry on that end of the floor is harder to develop than chemistry on offense. Giving up 63 in a half is a team defense issue and missing LO, Kwame, and Turiaf (starting front court) already this early season is showing up. We need a healthy roster to develop a good team defensive chemistry.
In the meantime, we need to do whatever it takes to win ballgames, even if it means scoring 130 points.
Posted by: Andrew Z | November 20, 2007 at 05:28 PM
Mike T,
You perhaps don't know me because I haven't posted a lot in the past.
But I do share your concerns about not having Kwame's interior defense.
I just think that "sometimes" you over rate Kwame's defending skills that's all.
But in any case I hope Bynum's offense makes up for his lack of defense.
Posted by: Outsidergua | November 20, 2007 at 05:30 PM
I hope our guys tight up on defense because I have the feeling the will cool off in the second half.
I really doubt they can maintain the 62% they are currently shooting.
Posted by: Outsidergua | November 20, 2007 at 05:31 PM
Guys our Tunrovers just 4 in the half. And what Kobe trying to do now is to give Lakers a win. He's in offense mood because he want to payback with Bynum in winning the game against bulls. These guys have rapport dudes...
Posted by: trio | November 20, 2007 at 05:32 PM
AZ, MT-
No doubt, this isn't how they want to go in the long run. It'll happen sometimes, though. But AZ is correct that defensive chemistry is hard to develop. It takes continuity in games and practice. Taking out Mo, adding Ariza, getting used to life without Kwame, getting Ronny back in the lineup. Mihm getting back in the flow of things as best he can. The next few games could be a little raggedy for sure. But you're living dangerously giving up 63 points a half, that's for sure.

I mean giving up 63-points, while the Pacers missed 8-11 3-pointers?
OUCH!

Radmanovic started to feel. He got the first three in 2nd half and an assist from Kobe.. Go Lakers
Posted by: trio | November 20, 2007 at 05:34 PM
Andrew Z,
While I think most agree that we'll miss Kwame's physical presence one of the biggest reasons why we gave up 63 in the first half was because we allowed 12 OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS in the first half.
Posted by: Xodus | November 20, 2007 at 05:39 PM
whats up with the KCAL 9 whole hour delayed broadcast of the game???...how lame, shouldnt us angelinos be able to see the game live??
by the way the lakers are looking very explosive this year...who else thinks Javaris should get more time, he was a presence on the court during the preseason...
And Bymun is a beast this year, he's pretty much averaging double digits in both rebounds and points, he needs to keep producing, and step up big in the game against the celtics....
the Celtics game will be a statement game for the lakers, if they can showcase their dominance against one of the best teams in the league, they should without a doubt get more respect from national networks (cough cough ESPN),who usually seems to have an extreme eastern bias, and trys to stir up the trade pot whenever they get the chance...it seems they want to tear apart our team however they can, as they acted like the trade with the bulls was almost etched in stone...
If the lakers can continue to dominate on boards, and bynum plays well against garnett, i belive this team has a good chance of giving the celtics another taste of defeat.
I look forward to watching this game even though im swamped in work and have to leave the state tommarow, one thing i can say is dam i love this team, even though mitch is still the word that rhyms with it...we miss you jerry west...ok lets beat the pacers.

Bynum is perfect so far
Posted by: Tsiry | November 20, 2007 at 05:41 PM
With the way we are shooting the rock tonight we must be excited to get rid of cookie lol...
Posted by: Bonez | November 20, 2007 at 05:43 PM
I think the reason for this high scoring game is not a lack of defense but the fast Tempo of the game and players knock down a shots.
Posted by: trio | November 20, 2007 at 05:44 PM
Kobe was block..
