Thus far, no game has passed in the "Phil Jackson-extended era" where a Laker doesn't hit a career high. It's arguably a small sample size, but let's be optimistic and assume the trend a given. Who's got next?

Did they seriously boo Fish??! Total lack of class.
Yes, lets loose when Jazz without 2 starters... Why every time I'm watching Odom, I want to trade him on the spot? Yesterday Melo, today AK47, he seems to can not defend anyone ...
We need to play in the post more. Utah doesn't have a frontline to speak of tonight. Andrew should be taking apart this Fesenko guy. Lamar needs to post up too.
Note the problem that the Lakers have with quick point guards. THink Paul. Nash, Parker, Williams, Davis. That is one reason why they aren't contenders yet. By next year, with more experience for Farmar and Crit, there will not be as biga disparity there.

When you can't keep the opposing team's guard out of the lane, it's very hard to play defense. Especially when said guard comes as clean as Williams has been.
Keep positive folks.. Kobe will keep this game close. And in 2nd half we are going to smoke them. Trust me, we going to win this Game for Fish. They Boo him, they bow down to him.
Where are all the people that said we shouldn't trade LO for Kirilenko or Marion? We're seeing the difference between a guy people SAY is versatile and a guy who actually IS versatie.
And no I'm not blaming this half on Odom everyone's stunk on D so far. One guy isn't the difference when you give up 70 FIRST HALF POINTS, but anyone who says we wouldn't be better with Kirilenko or Marion is kidding themselves.
I can stand to lose, I really can.
I can’t stand games where we kill ourselves. Games where our inconsistent effort, our lack of D, and our (4 letter word) idiotness is losing the game for us?
That’s is (4 letter word) Unacceptable!
So .... I seem to recall Mike T saying we needed Kwame's defense in
the paint. Can someone verify that Mike T said, we need Kwame's
defense in the middle? Was that 42 - 14 points in the paint at the
end of the 1st half?
Keep your cool folks.. This Game is far from over. They are going to tighten their defense on 3rd quarter and the Jazz will out of gas by 4th quarter. By then we'll smoke them up..
Why have I been so hard on Lamar this week? Because I was conned. I thought he meant what he said and wanted to be a valuable member of this team. No offense. No defense. No effort.
No Boozer, no Okur, Lakers could not run, could not jump and mere bystanders. There are two faces of Lakers, one face is one we saw last night and the other face is tonight pathetically unfit. lamar odom, chris mihm and luke walton are zombies still dreaming last night's victories.
Why not try Javaris and Trevor under these circumstances? Why rely on LAZY laidback SOB's escuse me....but they deserved such description.
TIME to let go of Odom and Kwame. There are too mnay good players to stick with these two. Lakers are getting out hassled and Odom is no visbility, Kwame would have been exactly the same if he was in this game.
I thought we should've moved him this summer. I like the guy but he's the only guy that doesn't fit into this team. Everyone even Kwame Brown has a defined role that they're able to fill, even Kwame Brown. LO's job is to give us 16-20 and grab 8 boards and he's never proven capable of doing that consistently.
I've never wanted to trade Odom, but we need to get trade him for some value. I'll reiterate that I'm NOT blaming this whole half on Odom, but he lacks intensity and always seems uncertain of what he's doing. I'd love to try and deal him to PHX for Marion or for Kirilenko, but I doubt we'd be able to swindle those guys into such a deal.
Maybe we could get JO (assuming he's healthy of course) if we have them LO and Vlad Rad.
Even if we win this game somehow it doesn't solve our problems. I don't think we've put together one complete game this season. It's either we play terrible first half D and fall behind, then make a comeback or we take a big first half lead, give it up and claw to a victory or complete the choke job.
This is the time CRIT has to play the big guard. That's why Phil's style is obsolete. CRIT has size, speed, defensive ability and poise. Why is Phil holding him out?
So .... I seem to recall Mike T saying we needed Kwame's defense in
the paint. Can someone verify that Mike T said, we need Kwame's
defense in the middle? Was that 42 - 14 points in the paint at the
end of the 1st half?

I wish we had Kwame in the game just to knock someone on their ass! We are way to soft. Anybody want to take a hard foul?
Why is Sasha getting so many minutes when the game was still in reach?
Sasha should only be inserted when we have a lead.
If we fall behind by over 30 points, put in Critt, Ariza, Vlad and Bynum and UNLEASH KOBE BALL!
I've never thought that losing Kwame wouldn't hurt (a) what he does isn't duplicated by others on the roster, b) the overall difference between a rotation of Brown/Bynum vs. Bynum/Mihm is big, and b/c Chris has been so bad, bigger than I had expected), but their problems tonight aren't "Kwame specific." They're not staying in front of anyone on the perimeter, are getting lost on off-ball screens, and as John Ireland pointed out coming out of the half, aren't stopping the ball, no matter who happens to b dribbling it.
No doubt losing Kwame hurts, but what Utah is doing to them tonight goes well beyond not having a solid one on one defender in the low post.
We may see a lot of J-Crit and Ariza in the 4th for the wrong reason. It'll be garbage time, and no point putting more wear and tear on Kobe and Bynum.
Odom and Kwame are ridulously no contribution and are clueless in a game like this. Players that don't fight back. Kobe and Bynum are moving and are fighting. Ododm is just lost.
Lakers are lousy because their coach is lousy. This Lakers team has the imprint of their coach. Look at the Jazz, it's totally Jerry Sloan written all over it.
Farmar's the only one who's matching Kobe's energy and hopefully it'll catch on to the rest of the guys. If Phil's smart he'll ride him as long as possible. I don't even know if LO deserves to be inserted into the game again. He's playing with no passion.
You notice as soon as they got Lamar off the floor the bleeding stopped and
they've started creeping back into the game. I hope they didn't leave him in
too long. It's hard to come back from 26 down, which was the difference
after Lamar's clear path foul. If they can get it down to 10 or 12 by the
end of the third and they DON'T BRING LAMAR BACK, then maybe there's
a chance the Lakers could still win it, but it won't be easy.
its funny how when the lakers are winning all you so called fans crown them to be championship contenders...but when they're losing you're all ready to have a fire sale. the last time i checked there hasn't been a team in the history of the nba to win every single game. stfu and start cheering because theyre making a run. idiots.
BK,
I may be at my most acerbic, but the guys I've benched or traded seem to care less about getting a Laker W than those of us contributing to the blog.
Farmar's had a few defensive lapses but over-all he's definitely a big plus.
If there aren't five guys left by the time I've decimated the roster, maybe B Shaw and K Rambis can go out there. :)
everytime the lakers play utah joel myers always talks about harpring and his grand dad and dad and bros playing football. im so pissed right now im ready to choke handsome dan.
>>>its funny how when the lakers are winning all you so called fans crown
>>> them to be championship contenders...but when they're losing you're all
>>> ready to have a fire sale.
Not true. If you look at the posts from yesterday, there were tons of posts
saying the Lakers should trade Lamar, Kwame, Mihm, or whoever.
Kobe has endured three plus years of this. How much more can he take? How much more can we take? When Kwame is one of the most important players on this team, there is a huge problem with this roster.
It's about time Utah gets some blood cut from the lakers. Lakers have been man hadled in this game. and Phil is not doing anything about it. Atleast WALTON and FARMAR are showing some toughness out there.
No passion whatsoever tonight. Please don't say Kwame would've made a difference tonight because it wouldn't have mattered who was in there the Jazz just completely outhustled and were aggressive attacking the hoop tonight. Even their outside shots and ugly layups were falling. The Lakers outside of Kobe were seriously flat. I say it again and again and again, that LO doesn't like to pass to Drew because I believe he's jealous. LO is really stinkin up the place and is playin like an ass.
why not spare kwame out of this game, why some of you blaming kwame in the result of the game, and some asking him to trade right away.. those people who kept asking to trade kwame or blaming kwame for the today's game are totally idiots and morons.. to hell with this peoples.. bastards!!!
It takes far too long for Phil to act and make changes, the guy is absolutely obsolete. Just like his boy Kwame and Lamar are freakin slow to know they are being out hassled. Lmar has no energy.
I will take Fesenko over Kwame anytime. Fesenko has been playing in the d-league.
Fellow bloggers, I can't get a read on this team. They are not consistent at all. We know they can't play good individual defense but can we at least put in some hustle, some attitude, don't go down without a fight. We have too many soft players especially MR. gonna be a ALL-STAR Lamar Odum. I agree it's time to trade him if someone will take him.. Getting the crap beat out of us by a Utah team without Booxer. The whole team should be embarrassed. If we are gonna lose play Trevor, Crit and Farmer. At least they will hustle. I was not happy that they resigned Phil. We are gonna lose Shaw & Rambis to other teams. THE TRIANGLE IS DEAD. Phil doesn't want to bench players. His rotations are awful. I'll take any player right know that can play great defense.
I'll tell you one thing. Sasha was far from the worst player on the floor tonight,
but if he doesn't play any better than that, you Critter fans may be getting your
wish and seeing more of Critter than Sasha soon.
Sasha Vuja SUCKASS BIG Time! Last night was a fluke!
He doesn't belong to NBA and please.... please send him to the D-league or send him back to where he comes from. I can't stand this guy.
What people don't seem to understand is this: Any point guard in the league and blow past any guard almost at will. The decision to do so or not is based on the angle available. Bynum, Mihm, and Turiaf are so slow with their footspeed and their rotations that guards take advantage of that.
Kwame plays the proper angles. He "shows" hiimself and the angles aren't as inviting, which causes the guard to rethink because, in reality, they can blow past any PG in the league.
That's why protecting the rim or the lane is so important. Kwame plays the lane almost to perfection. Perfection in the NBA isn't what you think.
The lowest scoring team in the NBA averages around 86-points.
So, say we give both teams playing 86-points each. Then with another 20 points that's 106-points. Add four points to that and it's 24, which totals 110.
Kwame Brown makes the difference in around between 10-12-points
In other words you take those 10-12-points off the 110-points and you get around 98-100 total points for the opponents.
That means if we score around 100-points we should win with Kwame Brown as the starting center.
Those are points that come from denying an open lane to the basket.
But didn't I tell you that the lay-up parade was coming?
I've studied this stuff! It's no accident that what you're seeing is happening.
I told you! I couldn't tell you this stuff if I wasn't sure after 2 years of studing it.
I've said it for a long time, no team with LO as it's second best player can win a championship. I tried to block those thoughts out of my mind because I like LO personally and I like his skill set, but it's the truth. LO isn't the only problem by any means, but when you're not getting anywhere near all-star play from your 13 mill a year player that's a HUGE problem.
I will readily admit we missed Kwame tonight. We needed another big in there to do something.
BUT YOUR CRAZY TALK ABOUT HIM PLAYING ANGLES TO PERFECTION IS INSANE. HAVE YOU NOT WATCHED POINT GUYS TORCH THE LAKERS FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS???????????????
STEVE NASH BLEW BY KWAME ABOUT 70 TIMES IN THE PLAYOFFS THE LAST TO YEARS.....
KWAME WOULD HAVE HELPED TONIGHT BUT WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR POINTS WITH CRAZY TALK NOBODY WILL LISTEN.
Okay, all you people calling for Critter to get big minutes. Tonight he got a
few minutes against the starters. It's good that he's getting some minutes
against real players, but notice that he hasn't been able to just dive to the
hoop like he has against bench players in previous appearances. He's
tried a few times and either Kirilenko or someone else has shut him down.
Then he just made a soft cross-court pass and CJ Miles picked it and ran to
the other end for a layup.
I'll say it again. I think Javaris will eventually be a pretty good NBA player,
maybe a very good NBA player. But you can't assume that just because
he did well in summer league that he's just going to step in and do well in
a real NBA game. Hopefully his learning curve will be short like Farmar
and he'll be a good contributor by next year.
"The only missing part that I've consistently said is that we need a head-banger. We need a tough guy on this team. Kwame Brown has been that guy for us. Even though he's not [tough] personality-wise - physically he is," said Jackson. "He's a guy that can knock people around and seal our middle. That's missing when he's out . . . it's something that consistently we need."
Phil Jackson knows that Kwame "seals our middle." That's the most important part of the defense. What they mean by "seals our middle" is that the center cuts the angles to the basket.
You people who think the Lakers will trade Kwame...you're not reading PJ.
PJ, who is supposed to be a defensive coach, isn't going to trade a player who can seal the middle.
There are very few big men in the league who can actually do that.
We all agree that Kwame would've helped a bit. Just not to the extent that you claim. Even if we go by your reasoning and say that Kwame would've caused the Jazz to score 10 less points that's still 110 points! Kwame can't stop a guard that's already flying towards the basket. No one can, that's why guys like D-Wade and Tony Parker have been so successful, you can't hand check on the outside and the big man on the inside gets left on an island.
The problem is TEAM D. The Lakers have gotten torched with and w/o Kwame in the lineup. Look at the past two series we've played against PHX for proof. One guy doesn't make a defense. That's why the Pistons lost Ben Wallace, replaced him with a defensive liability in Chris Webber and still remained one of the league's top defensive units. They played great TEAM D!
No defense. Not even Kwame could help this one.
J Crit looked lost.
Lamar looked lost. Of course he always looks lost in Utah.
All around crappy game from everyone except Farmar. But you guys need to realize the Lakers have done this before against Utah. Utah was short handed before and they still found a way to beat us. Its like the Lakers take a back seat thinking its going to be easy. The only one who played was Farmar and that was because it was his birthday.
I am amazed at how dumb the posters are on this blog, and how short-lived their loyalty is.
Last year, with his arm falling off and an injured knee, Lamar was the only person who battled against the Suns. The guy had career highs -- he was the ONLY one to show up.
So what kind of payback does he get from you people? The guy gets surgery on his torn shoulder, has to lay off it for six months, then comes back and struggles -- BECAUSE HE KILLED HIMSELF PLAYING WITH AN INJURY -- and everyone wants to throw him under the bus? Yes, he is stinking up the joint, but he's made it pretty clear in the last few games how much that's killing him, and how badly he wants to turn it around.
The majority of the bloggers on here don't deserve a winner because you don't know the first thing about rooting for one. You want everything easy -- and guess what? Nothing comes without the pain of hard work. You should be embarrassed for piling on Lamar like that -- if anything, people should be trying to get behind the guy and lifting him up. He's played in what -- a dozen games in the last six months because he left it all on the floor FOR THIS FRANCHISE. Get off his back, get off your stupid bandwagons, and learn what it means to be a fan you fairweather jokes.
Why are we not shopping this wreck, it's hard to believe that we would have been better off trading Lamar for Kwame.....get Kobe another MAN who doesn't wet his pants when he sees ESPN/TNT cameras.
Seriously though (I know you're raining tears without the one-liners), if we can't even contain Deron Williams, how do we expect to get past Nash and the Suns on our way to the 2nd round?
That's assuming we even get there to begin with. Though I have faith we can get to the playoffs, after that, it's getting cloudy.
And even if Kwame were the second coming of Ben Wallace it doesn't help us much that he's ALWAYS hurt. He's getting paid 9 million a year to play 40 some games. He played 41 last season and 42 his last season in Washington.
Lakers are lousy because their coach is lousy. This Lakers team has the imprint of their coach. Look at the Jazz, it's totally Jerry Sloan written all over it.

The Jazz are without two of their starters and we're still being out-hustled. The starting 5, even with Turiaf, seems asleep at the switch.

No Memo or Booz tonight. We have no excuse not to win this one.

Intensity just isn't there yet... c'mon Lakers!
Posted by: Bzar | November 30, 2007 at 07:52 PM

it's early yet

one more thing... LAMAR CAN'T PLAY DEFENSE AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: kobe24 | November 30, 2007 at 08:17 PM
Is there anything Lamar does that is good?? Can't play defense, refuses to play offense. What is his purpose on the team??
Posted by: Simone | November 30, 2007 at 08:17 PM
Could we please see some DEFENSE?
Posted by: Rick Friedman | November 30, 2007 at 08:19 PM
Why is Kobe not playing? It's not like he logged a ton of minutes last night.
Posted by: Bzar | November 30, 2007 at 08:20 PM
Deron Williams is toying whatever guard we put on him.
Posted by: Tsiry | November 30, 2007 at 08:25 PM
OK... time to bring in Ariza to guard Williams.

Simone,
Once or twice a game he can grab a rebound and dribble with his left hand the whole way and lay it up. Wouldn't YOU pay 13 mill a year for that. haha.

Kobe for 2 straight threes!
Deron goes to the basket and LAMAR JUST WATCHES????!

He carries us this 2 Q....
Come on guys keep it up.. give kobe some help!!
Posted by: kobe24 | November 30, 2007 at 08:29 PM
If we made that AK47 for Lamar trade this summer, we'd be looking good right now. With AK47, our team will never play Brokeback Defense again.
Posted by: LAKER TRUTH | November 30, 2007 at 08:29 PM
I got it!!! Lakers can not trade Lamar, because NO ONE WANTS HIM!!! He is useless and 2 years of his salary makes him totally untradeble
Posted by: LAL_Fan | November 30, 2007 at 08:29 PM
How tall is Lamar?? And he can't bring himself to jump and block a shot??

Posted by: J. Walter Weatherman | November 30, 2007 at 08:36 PM
When you can't keep the opposing team's guard out of the lane, it's very hard to play defense. Especially when said guard comes as clean as Williams has been.

Lamar played no defense last night. He's playing no defense again tonight. Our so-called "bigs" tonight are all midgets.
Our defense is so poor, the Jazz might score 140 or even 150 tonight.
Posted by: Rick Friedman | November 30, 2007 at 08:37 PM
Lamar 6'10 and totally useless. No matter how many points he scores, it took 3 seasons to finally get it - totally useless
Posted by: LAL_Fan | November 30, 2007 at 08:38 PM
I think there are two keys to the Lakers actually pulling out a victory tonight...
1) The Bench Mob has to be huge in the 2nd half again... and
2) They have to get the Jazz into foul trouble since they're already so short-
handed.
Posted by: Bzar | November 30, 2007 at 08:38 PM

maybe not that special
Posted by: CBuck | November 30, 2007 at 08:43 PM
OK, can we all agree? Lamar needs to be benched. Indefinitely and immediately - until he can be moved for whatever scraps can be found.
What an embarrassment of an NBA player.

Lamar Odom and Chris Mihm should donate their salary this month to charity.

I can stand to lose, I really can.
I can’t stand games where we kill ourselves. Games where our inconsistent effort, our lack of D, and our (4 letter word) idiotness is losing the game for us?
That’s is (4 letter word) Unacceptable!
This is beyond embarassing, it's traumatizing!
Posted by: Faith | November 30, 2007 at 08:45 PM
Lamar needs to be traded ASAP!!!
Seriously... he looks link he's been smoking pot.
I thought he said he needed to score more? What happened to that one??
WE look very tired, and it's our usual M.O.... win 2 lose 2!!!
This is patetic!!!

Lamar just doesn't seem to do too much thinking out there. Chris Mihm is just a poor quality player.

The really frightening thing is how much space Williams has been able to create in the lane without needing a high screen to get free...
Yikes.

Lamar and Brown should be traded... and get Marion and Webber!

LAKER TRUTH,
"The game is getting out of hand. It's time to unleash KOBE BALL."
I agreed, unleash the Black Mamba. We'll see the Venum in 3rd quarter. As I said Kobe will keep this game close for Fish..

LAMAR is Mr. Inconsistent!
Posted by: shaggy | November 30, 2007 at 08:50 PM

Oh, it just Lamar being garbage again.
Can someone please tell me one positive thing Lamar Odom did in that first half? Anything at all.....???
Posted by: SHAQ FAN | November 30, 2007 at 08:50 PM
So .... I seem to recall Mike T saying we needed Kwame's defense in
the paint. Can someone verify that Mike T said, we need Kwame's
defense in the middle? Was that 42 - 14 points in the paint at the
end of the 1st half?
Posted by: hobbitmage | November 30, 2007 at 08:50 PM
Keep your cool folks.. This Game is far from over. They are going to tighten their defense on 3rd quarter and the Jazz will out of gas by 4th quarter. By then we'll smoke them up..
Posted by: trio | November 30, 2007 at 08:53 PM
Why have I been so hard on Lamar this week? Because I was conned. I thought he meant what he said and wanted to be a valuable member of this team. No offense. No defense. No effort.
Posted by: Rick Friedman | November 30, 2007 at 08:53 PM
No Boozer, no Okur, Lakers could not run, could not jump and mere bystanders. There are two faces of Lakers, one face is one we saw last night and the other face is tonight pathetically unfit. lamar odom, chris mihm and luke walton are zombies still dreaming last night's victories.
Why not try Javaris and Trevor under these circumstances? Why rely on LAZY laidback SOB's escuse me....but they deserved such description.
Posted by: Edwin Gueco | November 30, 2007 at 08:53 PM
If we can't get Marion..trade lamar with Kirilenko or Artest perhaps!
Lamar is Ms Inconsistent!
Posted by: shaggy | November 30, 2007 at 08:54 PM
Kwame and Odom should be Fesenko and Milllsap.
TIME to let go of Odom and Kwame. There are too mnay good players to stick with these two. Lakers are getting out hassled and Odom is no visbility, Kwame would have been exactly the same if he was in this game.
Posted by: Mike Tigasin | November 30, 2007 at 08:55 PM
J. Walter,
I thought we should've moved him this summer.
Posted by: Xodus | November 30, 2007 at 08:55 PM
Sasha got FROZEN by Williams. Seriously, that was the sickest azz-over I've seem this year. Someone needs to thaw out Sasha's ankles.
This game cannot be one unless Lamar plays like a man and stops getting his azz handed to him every other play.
Posted by: SHAQ FAN | November 30, 2007 at 08:56 PM
The last two games, anybody that Lamar is guarding gets EASY BUCKETS.

Pains me to say this, but we are missing Kwame dearly tonight.
Posted by: SHAQ FAN | November 30, 2007 at 08:57 PM
trio,
Even if we win this game somehow it doesn't solve our problems. I don't think we've put together one complete game this season. It's either we play terrible first half D and fall behind, then make a comeback or we take a big first half lead, give it up and claw to a victory or complete the choke job.
Posted by: Xodus | November 30, 2007 at 08:58 PM
This is the time CRIT has to play the big guard. That's why Phil's style is obsolete. CRIT has size, speed, defensive ability and poise. Why is Phil holding him out?
Bynum sat too long?
Posted by: Mike Tigasin | November 30, 2007 at 08:58 PM
We are allowing the opposite team 60++ points at the half...
We need DEFENSE on the next half to turn this around..else
it will again add to another LOST!
Trade LAMMMMMAR!
Posted by: Shaggy | November 30, 2007 at 08:59 PM
At this rate maybe Kwame and Odom can get us a 2nd round pick!
Posted by: BD | November 30, 2007 at 08:59 PM
So .... I seem to recall Mike T saying we needed Kwame's defense in

I wish we had Kwame in the game just to knock someone on their ass! We are way to soft. Anybody want to take a hard foul?
Posted by: 33StraightWins | November 30, 2007 at 09:00 PM
Why is Sasha getting so many minutes when the game was still in reach?
Sasha should only be inserted when we have a lead.
If we fall behind by over 30 points, put in Critt, Ariza, Vlad and Bynum and UNLEASH KOBE BALL!

The only POSTIVE thing that will happen in the 2nd Half is when the Lakers start to play DEFENSE
Posted by: Shaggy | November 30, 2007 at 09:04 PM
SHAQ FAN,
Kwame would have certainly helped but even he can't do much with Deron Williams and Kirilenko flying to the basket at will.
Posted by: Xodus | November 30, 2007 at 09:05 PM
Can't we at least try Ariza??? He really can't be that much worse
Posted by: Bzar | November 30, 2007 at 09:05 PM

Posted by: Rick Friedman | November 30, 2007 at 09:07 PM
Odom and Kwame are ridulously no contribution and are clueless in a game like this. Players that don't fight back. Kobe and Bynum are moving and are fighting. Ododm is just lost.
PHIL needs to take out Odom and play CRIT.

Lakers back within 19... ohhhhh... look out Jazz!!
Posted by: keifo | November 30, 2007 at 09:15 PM
Farmar's the only one who's matching Kobe's energy and hopefully it'll catch on to the rest of the guys. If Phil's smart he'll ride him as long as possible. I don't even know if LO deserves to be inserted into the game again. He's playing with no passion.
Posted by: Xodus | November 30, 2007 at 09:16 PM
You notice as soon as they got Lamar off the floor the bleeding stopped and
they've started creeping back into the game. I hope they didn't leave him in
too long. It's hard to come back from 26 down, which was the difference
after Lamar's clear path foul. If they can get it down to 10 or 12 by the
end of the third and they DON'T BRING LAMAR BACK, then maybe there's
a chance the Lakers could still win it, but it won't be easy.

Trade Kwame and Odom and Walton, get two veteran players. I see Artest coming in one way or another.
Who's next Orlando? Not going to be easy...
Colorado STILL loves the Lakers!

Posted by: Toni | November 30, 2007 at 09:50 PM
as long as Lamar Odom is the 2nd best player on this team, the team will be inconsistent unless Kobe tries to go for 50 every nite.
sad but true.
Posted by: Korey | November 30, 2007 at 09:51 PM
I'll tell you one thing. Sasha was far from the worst player on the floor tonight,
but if he doesn't play any better than that, you Critter fans may be getting your
wish and seeing more of Critter than Sasha soon.

nice to know that LO can play murder ball instead of making the smart play and trying to save it to a teammate
genius. Lamar Odom is a genius. Must be the stars on his head.

Laker team: Happy Birthday Jordan, here's some doo doo.
Posted by: Faith | November 30, 2007 at 09:56 PM

Take Bynum out. We can't afford to let him get hurt with this kind of deficit in the game.
Posted by: Rick Friedman | November 30, 2007 at 09:57 PM
Korey,
I've said it for a long time, no team with LO as it's second best player can win a championship. I tried to block those thoughts out of my mind because I like LO personally and I like his skill set, but it's the truth. LO isn't the only problem by any means, but when you're not getting anywhere near all-star play from your 13 mill a year player that's a HUGE problem.

Why does it always seem like guys get their career highs vs. the Lakers?
I would like to see that stat somewhere if I could.
This is crazy.
D-will, millsap, etc. etc. all having career nights.
Name a PG and tell me he DIDN'T have a career high against us ...lol

Mike T,
I will readily admit we missed Kwame tonight.
Posted by: SHAQ FAN | November 30, 2007 at 10:06 PM

Listen to Phil Jackson:
Kwame Brown isn't going anywhere.

I think the Lakers just suck at defense period. With or without Kwame.

It finally ended. The national spanking has ended.
Our nation loves the Lakers!
Posted by: Hugo Boss | November 30, 2007 at 10:07 PM
Mike T.

I hope so sixonezero.
Lamar was told to be aggressive, he thought aggressively bad.
Posted by: Faith | November 30, 2007 at 10:12 PM
RECAP:
Posted by: zen | November 30, 2007 at 10:13 PM
"Since I'm on a roll, PJ should bench Lamar for the entire 4th, just to make a statement."
That's it. NO NO NO NO NO! FIRE HIM! not just sit him. Hello?
Posted by: Mike Tigasin | November 30, 2007 at 10:14 PM

This Year
Caron Butler Averages 23/7/3
Lamar Odom Averages 13/7/1.5
Why are we not shopping this wreck, it's hard to believe that we would have been better off trading Lamar for Kwame.....get Kobe another MAN who doesn't wet his pants when he sees ESPN/TNT cameras.
Posted by: E-dog | November 30, 2007 at 10:17 PM
Seriously though (I know you're raining tears without the one-liners), if we can't even contain Deron Williams, how do we expect to get past Nash and the Suns on our way to the 2nd round?
That's assuming we even get there to begin with. Though I have faith we can get to the playoffs, after that, it's getting cloudy.
Posted by: Faith | November 30, 2007 at 10:18 PM
And even if Kwame were the second coming of Ben Wallace it doesn't help us much that he's ALWAYS hurt. He's getting paid 9 million a year to play 40 some games. He played 41 last season and 42 his last season in Washington.
Posted by: Xodus | November 30, 2007 at 10:19 PM
Lakers are lousy because their coach is lousy. This Lakers team has the imprint of their coach. Look at the Jazz, it's totally Jerry Sloan written all over it.
Just have to post it again.
