And that's why Troy Hudson is known as the NBA's 'King of Clutch'
(UPDATE, 10.11: We're in the air this morning, so you'll have to discuss the news amongst yourselves... hopefully comments will get pushed through reasonably fast.)
Actually, Hudson's mostly been known of late as an oft-injured dude with a contract Minnesota deemed quite regrettable (and a rap CD the consumer deemed quite forgettable). But he did can a jumper with a tick on the clock, supplying the Golden State Warriors a 111-110 win over the Lakers in the purple and gold's preseason kickoff. Kinks were exposed on both sides of the ball (and Kobe's still getting used to his new role as "Kid Facilitator"), but it's also early and the box score listed a "DNP" next to Kwame Brown, Lamar Odom and Luke Walton's names. At any rate, a preseason loss is certainly not as big an issue as those keeping Jeannie Buss sleepless during the off-season, so that's certainly comforting. Besides, y'all need to maintain some smiles, because someone needs to cheer up The Critter.
There's a lot of optimism surrounding the return of Derek Fisher, a role-playing winner throughout his solid career. And according to the man himself, "winner" is what Kobe Bryant looks for on the resume of a potential co-worker.

Trio
"Buss said every offer to date for Bryant has been laughable and "not ever under consideration."
the offers are "laughable" because kobe's a goat and any trade value was severely diminished when kobe was menstrating this summer acting like a kbiatch.
kobe made his bed...yada yada yada.
kobe couldn't let winning with shaq be okay, kobe has to "prove a point" and win with kobe.
we all know how much winning we've experienced under the kobe regime.
long live the lakers....with or without The Malcontent.
i'd also add that i don't see teams knocking down our door to acquire kobe.
i say, let whoever signs kobe as a free agent take their chances.
maybe kobe will turn out like Randy Moss and be a model citizen elsewhere.

I can't wait to see the game tonight and see if the Lakers would make some adjustments defensively, because in the first preseason game their defense really sucked pretty badly.
Pay attention all bloggers, the only way to stop Gunner24 from posting rants and ignorant posts here is to ignore him. It seems that he won't stop this madness he has been doing in months now and i do not think he ever will stop. Therefore, just scroll down right away everytime you see his name and do not even think twice about reading to whatever he writes in his post.

Ok the amount of ridiculousness on the blog is kind of obnoxious. I am not saying that the comments here are too many (actually far from it), but now that it's not offseason (which totally limits the amount of trade machine posts on this thing) shouldn't that raise the quality of basketball commentary?
mike t, to say that buss "signed" Mihm and walton is unfair to jerry and the front office. What you really should be mad about is losing out on Luis Scola (a legit 4) or going for Juan Carlos Navarro, would enhance the team a lot more. That being said, the acute viewpoint that the front office has taken must be at least commended in trying to create an ideal team for the triangle. unfortunately it is not always done perfectly and it consistently needs tweaking. then again all teams need tweaking and are tweaked. We can't tweak our injuries, so let's move forward.
Before you start making claims like "i'll drive the los angeles lakers into the ground using you as my instrument" or "your woman is protecting you", amongst other ludicrous claims, understand this: your ego is your downfall. You don't have this blog, AK and BK do. Blog comment readers are only people who are as bored at work or school as I am (or willing to waste time as much as i am) and you don't have full expression: you have whatever AK and BK let you have. You are still an observer and, inevitably a fan, like the rest of us. Hating PJ or not hating PJ, even if you decide to write on your own blog and have people read it, your still influence might never move a single pawn I am generally for misogynistic viewpoints and revel in their candor, but saying something that dumb makes me pity you more than laugh at you. Bill hides behind Hillary, England hides behind the Queen, France hid behind Joan of Arc, Egypt hid behind Cleopatra, what's next, Jesus hid behind Mary?
For the record, the candor in which buss speaks should say a lot about his comfortability around KB24. Now everyone has ALREADY taken everything out of context here and made blanket assumptions about the front office, KB24, PJ, and the entire scenario. But let's be realistic: every known asset of every business inevitably has value to a buyer. It is unrealistic to think that Buss is going to say "I don't listen to any offers," "it was completely off the table," etc. Every business owner would love to be bought out, and Buss gets those offers too. Reactionaries claiming that this makes things way way worse (it clearly doesn't) are the ones who still think there is a justifiable tension here.
But we're dealing with consummate professionals. Multi million dollar professionals. While the ship may not be perfectly righted on the court, Dr. Buss' statements are harmless and lack any finger pointing. It's up to the soap opera writers (read: blog commentators) to make it into the mess it is in. I approve of what buss has said. Right the ship on paper, let the commentators make the water swirl.

Edwin Gueco,
Thank you for your thoughtful post.

Look KL,
I am in agreement with both Farmar and Critt. In fact, you may remember my raves about him after seeing him play in person.
The problem with the Lakers isn't Farmar, or Critt, or Kobe, or even Smush. It is Bynum.
If he's the next coming of Hakeem, then all is well and right in Lakerland.
If he's the next coming of Elden Campbell, then Kobe was right, the fans were right, and Buss Boy is the ultimate goat, and not the goat that means "Greatest Of All Time".
