Podcast! (Sept. 19)
Here's the link to today's edition of "Purple, Gold and Blue" on NowLive.com. Laker talk starts about halfway through. (Now that the Blue seem determined to wind down by the end of the month, roundball could quickly start taking up a larger chunk of the show.)

YOUR life is calling you.
You're struggling because out of one side of your mouth you say I'd give up Socks Bynum in a minute.
On the other side of your mouth you think we can MAKE a team take Socks Bynum in a sucker trade to add a 2nd star or another 3rd star like Lamar Odom who you have labled CORRECTLY a 3rd star.
That makes no sense to wait or wish on. We don't have the time to wait for that dream. We've blown the chance to re-sucker some team back for the Kwame-Caron deal by blowing the JKidd deal and perhaps others.
So I think the biggest problem with your commentary is that you're stuck on this
get JO and keep Lamar Odom idea that is just nonsense when you call Bynum a "CHUMP" and you call Odom a "3rd star".
How the hell you gone buy an ALL STAR who plays down low with that?
You're flip flopping like John Kerry and I'm not the first to point that out.
Nothing personal just the truth

AK-47 WANTS TO GET TRADED!
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3027689
"I don't want to be there and mechanically fulfill a contract. Unfortunately, it's been more than a week, but I haven't heard from the Jazz leadership," Kirilenko wrote. "There's no response negative or positive and this silence is just one more evidence of the way they treat me. Nevertheless, I'm really hopeful that Utah Jazz leadership will realize that our relationship is over and it's time for us to part ways."

Should the lakers go after him?

Dang it! I missed it again!
Ok, next week, I won't have a test, I promise myself I'll catch it lol.

NO to KirilenKO!!
Come on guys, he's good but we should just wait it out and revisit the JO and Artest options first. Ummm season please start already....

How about Luke and Vlad for AK-47? At least we'd have some defensive toughness at the 3.

The two NBA TV announcers at the Charity game was discussing and both in agreement why Bynum and Odom should be traded for Jermaine Oneal. The announcers both felt Oneal brings what the Lakers need down low at both ends of the court. They also mentioned that Oneal was in the running of defensive player of the year in which Camby beat him to the punch. They both agreed that Kobe's talent joned by Oneal will propel them to the WEST FINALS. They repeat a few times that the deal is still out there if the Lakers wants to give let go of Bynum and Odom.
They also added Oneal brings steady second optiion at offense consistently and it will be very important come playoff time. Opposing teams will have problems with Kobe's talent in the offense, having Oneal demanding double team inside as well. They also said JO can shoot free throws, has a mid range shot and dominates in the low post, makes it very tough for any teams to guard the two.
They said having two superstars in JO and Kobe both leading their team in offense and defense is a formula for success. They close it by saying it might be a better duo because they are close friends and both have the same age.
I'm glad I am not Jim Buss. Bynum and Odom together, how do you give that up?
But imagine a front line of Mihm/Kwame, Oneal and Radman.
Mihm/Kwame
Oneal/Turiaf
Radman/Walton
Bryant
Fisher/Crittenton

I agree with Lakertom! SunYue was impressive and looks like he has gained some msucles on his upper body as well as Yi Jianlian.
Did yo see how SunYue did not live a step behind Steve Nash pick n roll and his drive to the hoop. He was right at Steve's face all the way to the hoop that made Nash made an errant pass.
He was also so quick in transition Melo can not catch him. When Barbosa starts covering him it look like a sprint contest. One time SunYue dunks the ball and the announcer said, that was so quick it look like a blurr. He went for a 360 slam and on the possesion he went for a lefty strong throw in that wow the crowd. The kid when aggressive is more fun to watch than just facilitating the ball.
This could be a steal in the draft at 42. We have to atleast see him in the summer tarining camp and exhibition games. I bet you he can easily beat Sasha and Karl for skill level alone.

Hey KL and Gunner
You guys missed a FU today. The Bucks signed PG Royal Ivy!!!!!!! Dude averaged 3 points a game last year!!!!! I am sure he would have put over the top if he only would have wanted to play with Kobe.!!

From the last thread -
Lakerbakeflake:
Ok man - this is my last post to you. First off your tone is way too nas-tee. I prefer a more friendly give and take. Go take on KL if you want to fight someone, he usually seems to be ready to play that game.
And as ususal you misquote me. I never called Bynum a chump. He's a player with great potential who may be a star a couple years down the road. That's why the Nets and the Pacers both want him. But we need someone NOW. That's why I'm more than willing to let him go to a trade partner who's aiming at the future and will take on years-away Drew and capspace Kwame.
So buddy, if you're going to dis my quote, don't "mis" my quote.
Peace out.

Aloha Jay Jay
I looked at your trade proposal on the previous thread and all I can say is, its a nice dream. I prefer to stay grounded in reality and try to look for trades that would have a chance of happening. There are two huge flaws.
1. Larry Bird. He has held firm to what he wants for Oniel. Lamar, Andrew, Kwame, a 1st round pick and we take Troy(dog)murphy and his bad contract. In other words he wants to steal and undue all the bad moves he has been making as GM. Come the trade deadline and it is apparent that the Pacers are going no where, he might soften his stance but from everything that has been written and there has been a lot, I cant see him doing anything until then.
2, A ring. The Suns believe they were jobbed and should have won it all last year. Yes Marions grumblings annoy them Yes they are luxary sesitive(see giving away players and picks) but they still want to win now. Kwame, Vlade and J-Crit will not win them a ring this year. If they move Marion expect to see a player in return that will not be to much of a drop off from Marions level. This also has been written several times by the reporters that follow the Suns.
It would highly improbable that one of the 2 changes their stance and nearly impossible for both but still, it is nice to dream.
